@Rusty: Backgrounds have always been a weakness of mine, so this year I'm trying to include a background of some sort in every piece and really get some practice in.

What I'm saying is, I can't do art for life. I'm not that good at anatomy or realism, Ir tiny details, And I just really wish I could draw like half of the people on here ;-;

It takes time and practice, ClockKey. There's nothing fair or unfair about it. These people - long time artists and newcomers - work very hard to improve. You can too. Just try not to be too hard on yourself. Even fantastic artists that produce very high quality art still see flaws in their work, even if we think they're mind-blowingly amazing, haha,

Make the type of art that you enjoy and improve at your own pace. Just know you will get frustrated and tired of trying - it's part of it. But, over time, you will see a difference. Keep trying! :)

I've been drawing all my life (over 20 years) and I still think I am shit at it. But I get told I am good and that makes me want to keep improving so that maybe one day I will see what they see and be content with my work.

I'm terrible at studying anatomy too - I always get impatient and try to jump ahead. So instead I've just stuck with a more chibi style, so I can get away without being 100% anatomically accurate c: I enjoy doing that a lot more than trying to figure out how to make an arm or a leg the right size and proportion for the animal. You can make your own style, and it doesn't have to be strictly realistic - just keep trying different styles until you find one that suits you, and work at that one~

And 2-3 years isn't all that long xD I've been drawing for roughly 6 years now, and there was very little improvement in my art the first few years.

I can't draw freehand because I don't even above my own style, And I don't know anatomy. I've tried constantly. Still nothing.

And, Yes, I utterly hate drawing Chibi style because it's by far the hardest things to do ;-:
