Unsatisfied with the amount of blood dripping from his ground organ and muscle tissue patties, Niko unscrewed the cap from the silver vial and held his thumb over the hole and tipped the vial, allowing the blood and liver juice and splatter onto his patties before ceasing all too quickly. With a quiet growl, Niko returned the vial's cap to its rightful place and resumed eating, although now, he wasn't alone. He was joined by two girls- one who kept staring at him. With a frown Niko simply growled out a harsh. "Never seen a guy pour a little beet juice on his tartare?" he said, making only brief eye contact. One of them was definitely human- had it been evening meal and he was hungry, he would have had to hold himself back and keep his composure to keep the demonic side of him at bay. By now, he was pushing little bits of raw meat in the blood before poking at them with his fork and eating them. Humans are stupid. That human one probably can't smell the scent of blood, the other one... dunno what she is, but I can tell she's not stupid enough to believe I'm human.

He felt like he was on the spot. He'd never actually been around several people when not observing them from afar in owl form. Being around humans too much, he didn't want to become attached. He saw it in a similar way with his life with the wizard. They had a few sheep and he was instructed not to befriend the sheep and to not name them. Because the second the sheep became more like a pet, it would be harder to slaughter later. Of course Niko would kill some of the sheep anyways, but humans... well. They were a little smarter than sheep; capable of conversation and had emotions easily understood by him. He couldn't befriend them. Animal flesh kept him only partially satisfied, but human flesh was something else, something that gave him strength.

As he chowed down on his meat patties, he noticed a looking at him with a smirk on his face. Niko pretended to not noticed him by tapping his fork on the side of his plate before finishing off the rest of the meat. Niko could be a ravenous water if he were allowed to eat more at meals, he supposed it was their way of keeping him docile, but avoiding the laziness that came with fullness and the aggression that came with hunger. Niko gave an exaggerated roll of his murky brown eyes before taking his plate up to the window and turning back to head back to class. However, he took a short little detour to the guy who'd been staring at him. He slid into the seat across from him, brown eyes full of mischief.

His thin fingers seized a piece of the boy's bacon and he dangled it in front of him before looking down at his plate. "You need to lay off of the bacon. What you're eating is pure fat. Should try eating something better for a thing like you, fatass." The words came rudely out of Niko's mouth, but his eyes had a certain glint in them as he tossed the limp piece of bacon back to the boy, who Niko identified as a demon, at least he thought.

Niko was taken aback by the other boy's comment, mostly because he was expecting something worse back. He kept eyeballing the pile of bacon on the boy's plate. The wizard had tried cooking for him when he was young, but he turned his nose up to it. He simply preferred the taste of raw meat and as a young child, after long enough of eating mutton, he quickly became tired of it, which he resolved for himself by hunting with a bow. If he were to lose control of himself, there would be no telling what would happen. It also gave him some responsibility- if he wanted to eat, he'd have to find his own food, simple as that. Life wasn't too terribly bad, until he started questioning things.

"Altru? What am I?" Niko asked. He was around 6 years old at the time and looked up at the aging wizard with his chocolatey brown eyes. His dark brown hair had grown out and was nearly in his eyes and the wizard pushed back some of his wavy locks with a calloused hand to get a better look at the boy. Niko seemed perpetually dirty from days of playing in dirt and the lack of a bath.

"You are not human. But I wouldn't say you're a full demon either. There's a name for your kind- strzygón. An unfortunate case of a demon child being born to two human parents. And they abandoned you, so I'd say you're caught in a strange limbo in between. You're not sure of what you are, what you're capable of and why you have a craving for human flesh. It'll all make itself known eventually." He said. Altru was blunt and have no heed that Niko was only 6 years old. There was no use in coddling him and warping the truth and comforting the boy into false hopes.

"But Altru!" Niko tugged on the sleeve of Altru's robe. "Does that make me a monster?" He asked, his eyes filling with tears.

"I can not answer that question. I think this one's up for you to decide." Altru plucked Niko's little fingers from the sleeve of his robe and went out the door to tend to the herb garden.

"I am so glad to have made your day by me gracing your presence" he said, with a self-satisfied smirk on his face. He resisted the urge to kick his feet up on the table and settled for leaning back just enough for his spine to give a few satisfying cracks before his returned his elbows to the table, assuming a position with poor posture. He looked at the boy across from him, not exactly sure what he was and he figured he felt the same way about him. If he wanted to, he could keep it a secret and use it as a bargaining chip later if he wanted to.

When a girl asked the names of the others, Niko merely let out a grunt and chose to avoid the question entirely.
