Hearing the alpha the small female had agreed with the male, jealous of the younger brother being able to cuddle up to someone had made her feel the lack of authority in her cuddlings. Flicking her ear she scanned over the pack "Ohh~ Congrats Azalea." She piped up.
Blocking out the rest of the conversation she found little to deal with her, letting out a quiet humm the female grew bored. For the first time she was unsure on what was going on in her head? Confusing really, flicking her tail around she awaited for the meeting to come to an end so she can go take a nap- or get her mind straight? If that was also possible for her. Flicking her tail around slightly the female had watched the alpha, atleast he didn't have a hard time trying to swoo the ladies,- since many were rooting for his /admiration/ she guessed.

"What's a mate, Soul?" mah goodness Czar is adorable)

Azalea / Female / Former lead hunter, now a Betess
Azalea smiled faintly at the name. It was one to be carried with pride. She twitched her good ear back towards Soul to make sure he wasn't talking yet, and looked back at Jojo. She could tell that Judgement Day was less than comfortable, as some wolves did get when meeting the powerful wolf. One of her back legs rose to scratch her floppy ear, and slightly irritated the scar below her eye. Azalea swiped her paw over it and looked back to Judgement Day. She was surprised that Jojo would share her profession so quickly, but still upheld her almost expressionless face. Remembering a small detail about her father, Azalea spoke quietly. "My father tried to take up healing one day. It didn't work out well for him." She said, chuckling softly at the bitter sweet memory of him trying to use his paws for more than walking.
Seeing the other female shiver while she herself was warm, Azalea knew that she probably was not a northerner. "I traveled here when I was younger. Where have you come from? Certainly not from the north. Your coat is too thin." She said it more like stating a fact, rather than being rude. Azalea swiveled her head so that she could listen to what Soul was saying when a muffled sound caught her attention.
Listening to his words carefully, Azalea could make out almost all of it. Her ears twitched in anticipation. She thought he said that she was to become his betess, but why would he appoint her? Often she had been scorned for not being able to hear out of one ear, so she had grown accustomed to the thought of only being a Lead Hunter all of her life, never to rise up in the ranks.
But that didn't matter anymore. Here she was, a once hunter now beta. The female rose to her feet and took a few paced forward, a faint smile on her face. "I will not disappoint you." She said with a dip of the head. Turning back around, her smile widened when Cerin congratulated her. Azalea gave a brief thank-you and returned to her spot.
The beta listened to the rest of Soul's announcement, opening her mouth to protest but shutting it quickly. Yeah, the first thing I want to do when just appointed Beta is question Soul's ways. Wait a second.. Does this mean he can just pick whoever he wants? She thought.

Ertos & Navdur ('Cause I'm lazy)
Navdur watched the whole thing go on, still worried about what would happen to him. Soul had still not spoke with him and the anticipation was killing him. He looked from wolf to wolf, trying not to look too nervous.

Ertos listened carefully to what was going on, and was surprised that Soul himself had announced that he would pick a mate soon. To Ertos, picking a mate was something that should be done in private and not announced to the whole pack.

Jojo looked towards the newly dubbed beta. "Congrats." She smiled. Azalea wasn't as bad as she first thought.

"No, actually I was born and raised up here. Well not here, here, several hundred miles west." She chided. "I haven't had a chance to look after myself for a very long time. I'm hoping it'll thicken up. I decided to leave my old pack before they chased me. I wanted it to feel like it was my own choice, that I was stronger than what they always told me. I travelled alone for a while until I met another young wolf. He was a pure blood, a nice gray. He had the clearest blue eyes. His name was Bilee. We travelled together for a while but he died one night when we were attacked by a band of rogue wolves. You know the kind, insane, completely feral, zombies? Bilee had died trying to fend them off, but there had been too many. The last thing he told me was to run. And I did. I travelled for a while alone, couple of months. I managed to survive, well, struggled would be a better word for it. It's not that easy surviving out here as a wolf dog." She sighed, giving a weak smile. "Especially my size. But, after trekking a while I stumbled across this rough-cut gem and thought, hell, I'll die one way or another. So, I stayed. I'm a bit paranoid, to say the least, about sleeping with everyone else around, so I'm out by the river." She finished her story, looking up at the beta. "So. . . Yeah. That's about it. Sorry to bore you with my life story, I get carried away. I haven't talked to someone in a very, very long time." She gave a chuckle, looking back at the alpha.

"Now if he's done, I'm going to grab a bite to eat. . ." She gave another lick to her chops, accentuating her words.

Ashe must have dozed off when she finished cleaning her small wound. She knew, because she was woken by the sound of a howl. It was a beautiful howl, but, it was slightly hard to believe that it came from Soul, even though she knew it was his. She stayed inside her den for a while loner, not really wanting to leave, but in the end, she did.

She walked out, head low slightly and sat down, near her brother. Just as she sat, Soul announced that Azalea was the new betess. She was actually proud for the female, Azalea was a great choice for the positions. Her he eyes scanned the group of wolves as Soul began to ramble on again. Then Soul started rambling about a mate or two. Really? A mate. Who the hell could tame that ass hole! The she looked at Czar when he asked what a mate was. Damn he was adorable. She couldn't help but smile.

Mitsui kept her stance proud, pretty much her spine straight and no hunching over despite sitting on her haunches. Eyeing Azelea, she let out a soft huff. Hopefully she'd be able to straighten out the pack a bit, a female in some sort of leading role was needed to tame out Soul here. However, the cream female's ears perked softly at his declaration, a hint of annoyance leaving her jaws by way of a growl. How ignorant could you get? Not one, but two mates? Her growl was cut off by Czar, chuckling softly, at least there was some sort of good within this female-ridden pack. Though the she-wolf doubted that innocence would stay for long.


Turning her attention back to the new Betess, she bowed her head slightly before flattening her ears. "Here's to hoping you can keep this pack somewhat in line," She chuckled, eyeing the Alpha, "God knows we need it."
