Lexa was up before the sun was, something that just came naturally to her. She rubbed her eyes and stood up from the warm bed before stretching into the air with a yawn. Taking a deep breath she walked into the bathroom and took a quick shower, wanting to be clean for the big day ahead of her. It didn't take her long and before she knew it she was in a black tank top with a nice pair of blue jeans. Lexa flipped her head over and towel dried her hair before running a brush through it and walking out of the bathroom. She had been preparing for this rodeo for the past months and was exited to go and get away from the real world she lived in. Smiling to herself she slipped her boots on and grabbed her hat as she exited out of her room.

"Trevor lets go! We don't have all day!" She called from inside a old beat up truck. Lexa sat back in the driver seat and watched her brother slowly walk over to the truck and hop in as she ate a granola bar. She was thankful she didn't live to far from the grounds. Lexa hoped out of the truck and walked over to the registration tables where her and her brother waited in line. When it was her turn she signed her name and received her number and her horses number. She gave a nod in thanks before she turned on her heals and looked around the area.

Lexa took one last look around the area before looking back over her shoulder to her brother. She gave a small wave of goodbye before she hurried off to her trailer back where her truck was. She walked to the back and pulled out the keys unlocking the doors and walked them open glancing inside to Echo. "Hey girl, ready for today?" She asked as she took a step up into the trailer and began to untie the lead from the side. She gave her a few long strokes down her neck as she gave her a quick once over with her eyes making sure she had everything. She was glad she decided to saddle her before they came. She lead her out of the trailer and let go of the rope walking to her left side. She trusted the mare, knowing she knew better to walk off, they had done this to many times and wasn't their first rodeo.

Lexa made sure everything was in place and correct before she gave the mare a pat on the shoulder and took her lead rope and began to make her way to the stalls. She was in deep thought about how the day would go when she turned a small corner that she bumped into someone. She stumbled backwards slightly, "I am so sorry..." She said and then looked to who she had run into.

Trigger herd footsteps coming towards the trailer and nickered. He didn't want another second in this trailer he was ready for the day. Bobbing his head as he saw James he gave him and inviting nicker. The energy in him was high and he was ready to take on the challenges of the day, knowing what lied ahead of them. He followed James out of the trailer and looked around the area as they walked to the stalls. Trigger flinched slightly and took a could steps back with a snort as he watched James run into someone.

Trigger snorted with a shake of his mane as he realized it was only a mare and his rider. He turned his head and watched as the boy patted his side and snorted with a bod of his head. He let his gaze travel over to the pair in front of them and he stood taller observing them and took notice of the familiar numbers all the competitors had received. Trigger hung his head down and reached toward them trying to get a greeting sniff but soon raised his head and looked to the mare. "Names Trigger." He said proudly head high.

Lexa watched as the guy gave her a bright smile and took some of the blame. She blushed lightly but it soon went away and she watched as he looked to his horse. She gave a quick rub to Echo on the bridge of her knows reassuring the mare before turning her attention back to the guy. She looked down at his hand before returning her gaze back to his eyes, "Alexa Griffin. People call me Lexa." She said and took his hand giving him a greeting shake. "Have a feeling this isn't your first rodeo." She said releasing his hand letting herself give him a quick once over with her eyes and a smile.

Lexa smiled as he laughed, she watched him run a hand back through his hair and she looked down for a moment pulling her thoughts together and nudging Echo away from her hand. She looked back up, "Roping and barrel racing. What about you?" She asked looking to him with a slight tilt of her head. She let her gaze travel to his horse for a second before moving back over to him awaiting a response.

Trigger shook out his mane and looked to her, it wasn't often that he or James talked to anyone at these events. yeah, there were the girls that would throw them self on James every once in a while and the ares that gave him the cold shoulder but never an actual friendly conversation. He thought for a moment before answering Echo, "I am not sure, really have lost count. What about you?" He said with a small chuckle and looked to Lexa for a moment.

Lexa smiled and nodded as she lifted her hand and rubbed the back of her neck before letting her arms rest at her sides. "I use to bull ride, then my brother made me stop." She chuckled at the thought of it. She knew he made her stop because he was jealous and he had gotten their mom in on it telling Lexa that it was 'To dangerous.' and 'She could get hurt' which they were both right statements but the rush outweighed the cons but they got on her tail enough that she gave it up. Lexa shifted and looked over to the stalls and then back to James, "Want to head over to the stalls with me, wouldn't mind the company." She said giving an inviting smile.

"Yeah good place to let go, bond with these crazy things." Trigger motioned to James with his head and gave with shoulder a nudge with a mocking nicker. He bobbed his head and looked to the mare with a charming smile. "Seems to me they are getting along well, doesn't happen much with him." He teased looking to James.

Lexa began to walk towards the stalls with Eco close behind her on her right. She lifted her hand with the lead rope in it and took off her hat running her hand back trough her hair before putting it back on. She glanced to Echo and gave her a soft glare and a shake on her head seeing her nudge her a little in James' direction. She turned her attention back to James, "My brother and mom hated it and talked me out it but my dad use to love watching me ride." She looked over at him, "A little sibling? Man.. I wish i had one of those." She said with a laugh.

"I am glad both of them are getting their social activities in for the year," Trigger chuckled as they walked to the stall. He glanced at Echo before turning his attention to James, he sniffed hiss hat and snorted looking around the area.

Lexa listened to him as he spoke about his little brother compared to an older brother. She shook her head and looked to the ground. "Man I would switch for a little brother in a heart beat instead of a big brother." She rolled her eyes at the thought to Trevor but shook it off, "Gook choice with sticking with him." She gave a laugh and pulled a piece of paper from her pocket that had her stall number written on it, 7. Lexa looked ahead seeing her stall right in front of them, she looked over to James, "What stall number?" She asked her head tilted slightly.

Trigger gave a nod in agreement as they talked about the kids interacting for once with someone other than family. He thought for a moment about Echo's question as they walked into the open stall set up. "Barrel racing, if it has to do with me being in it, I think bull riding is the best to watch though." He said with a nod agreeing with himself.

Lexa watched as he motioned to the stall right next to their own and she laughed looking down at her paper again. "Well our stall number is 7. Looks like a wont be getting ride of you so soon." She joked looking to James flashing him a smile before she opened the stall door and walked Echo in as she nudged her. "Yes but you always have the upper hand being old." She protested taking a step out of her stall. "Alexa!" Lexa rolled her eyes and looked to James, "Speaking of the devil." She said lowly and turned watching her brother walking over to them, seeming not to enjoy that she was with a guy.

Trigger bobbed his head with a snort and looked around the area. There were a few horses in the stalls but he knew there was more to come soon. Trigger nodded, he did enjoy seeing the little kids. As he was thinking of the little ones he perked his ears forward hearing someone call. He pinned them back lightly not liking the look of the guy already but he kept his temper controlled knowing better.
