Spottedpaw looked up at Whitetail then back to Rootpaw. Why must you take him now starclan? He was my good friend... she thought, her cheeks wet with tears. She licked Rootpaw's cheek again.

Whitetail
He hummed a soothing lullaby, probably unknown to most cats because his mother had hummed it for him. He kept licking the Apprentice's head, still humming, trying to sooth any cat near him who could hear. He knew how sad everyone was and had heard Blizzardthroat, tears pricked at the back of his eyes as he had heard her speak to the Apprentice... please starclan.. don't take him so soon...

Alderfall

Alderfall sniffs, seeing Rootpaw's breathing slow.. tears come to his eyes, and he nudges Whitetails neck in sadness.

"If you want to, I guess.." Twoface heard the commotion as well,, whicch made him curious. He wanted to go figure out what it was, but he wasn't sure if he could help. "I think if anything whatever is going on with the rest of camp is more important than me.." His voice trailed, as he tried to listen more.. closely, to the distant talking.

Alderfall

Alderfall goes to Flintpaw, whispering in his ear, "Let's go get them so food to at least try and cheer their stomachs up."
He limps over to the nursery to tell Cloudstar they were getting prey, and goes out to meet up with Flintpaw.

Rootpaw-Windclan

Rootpaw slightly opened his yellow eyes and started grasping on to a purr , he moved his paw but then fell silent. His ears flattened against his head as his purring stop. ( Gah I've been watching too many undertale videos, everything is extra sad D:)

Whitetail
As Root paw's purring stopped, he hoped he would be ok.. but, he didn't really move, he wasn't sure if he was even breathing.. he felt Alderfall touch him but, he kept humming soothingly, he whispered, "you will always be with us Rootpaw.. if you have to go... don't worry.. we'll always remember you, you are such a very great cat.." His voice cracked as he continued, "you are a very great cat.. show starclan just how great you are.." He finished, he then continued to hum, trying to make him feel how much he was loved, he wasn't going to leave to go to starclan alone.. he licked the top of his head gently like a queen would lick her kits head. Tears welling up in his eyes, still trying to fight them back and stay strong..

Alderfall

Alderfall nods at Flintpaw. "Over by the clearing near the north. There should be more prey over there."
He trots towards his old favorite clearing, sighing at what happened there moons ago.

Blizzardthroat // She-cat // Warrior // Location: Camp
The she-cat felt her throat close up as she choked on sadness. Rootpaw hadn't moved after that final purr, her own heart was ripping in two at his passing. She let out a strangled cry and pressed her nose into his fur, tears escaping her eyes. "He was my first apprentice," she sobbed, "All he wanted was to be a great warrior, and it was my job to show him how." She sniffled, her body wracked with sobs. She looked up at Whitetail, who was humming softly to the body of the much-too-young cat, and admitted, "I failed him, Whitetail, I failed him.."
