I've been wanting green-ish bases for a while now and have come across the arguments 'mammals aren't green' and 'just use mossy fur' (definitely not the kind of green I was thinking), but these two are absolutely perfect.
I can easily see silver, ice, celestial, black, onyx and white marks going with them in different combinations. Full support!

please, pleeease. green is such an underrated colour with so much variety...a jade green lion would be super pretty. i absolutely adore both of these example bases, but i would say that the first one shouldn't be called oil slick, purely because oil slicks are iridescent and not predominantly green. but a dark iridescent base would be wicked. :0

as I think we're past the stage on lioden where everything needs to be super realistic and has to be able to be seen/done "in real life" to be liked/implemented (we have cinnabar and ice, y'all, come on) green bases are JUST what we need and these are very well done. support.

Caramel has a green tint, as well as savannah and tan. Pigmentations such as pinks, yellows, reds, blues, greys, etc can all be found in mammalian fur, but green? There hasn't yet been an animal found with green pigmentation.
I have this problem with cinnabar as well, its just so unrealistic. I mean its a pink lion like honestly what?

@Brighty I totally get you, Cinnabar, Glacial and Cherry Blossom are all hideously unrealistic.


But


They're a thing. They happened and they're here to stay. Now my green bases might not look great, maybe Xylax could do a better job but green is the only colour of the rainbow we're missing. Why not?

We also have markings that are literally called "Blue" and "Red". And they. especially the blues (And ice) are unrealistically intense. That's why Nate mentioned that people really can't use "it's unrealistic" as a arguement anymore. It would be understandable if it was lime jello green, but OP has dimmed it greatly. (Like how ice and glacial are intense if they had not been grayed down. Cinnabar is just intense all together.)

[Although, personally OP I think the green in base 1 could use a little editing to be maybe a little more subtle. since you mentioned making it like Ebony's subtle purple.]

If you added subtle purple to it, it would make a great Raven base. Like the green and purple shine you see in raven feathers...?

@Heda thank you. I appreciate your opinion. Someone else could probably do a better job designing a green base but I think we need to accept that parts of Lioden are unrealistic now and it's no longer an argument haha

I would support a Raven base all the way!

The Lichen base looks more blue to me, but it might just be my monitor

EDIT: try adding more yellow to it? Or maybe brown.
Another idea would be to make a pale yellowy green base, you could call it Spinifex
