You can just right-click on photo in internet and select "copy image" or something simillar - I don't know how it is exactly called in english and in your browser- and then go to your SAI canvas and paste it (ctrl + v).

Or you can copy photo to your desktop and then file -> open it in SAI, select it, copy (ctrl + c) and go to your painting canvas and paste it. There is probably much easier way to do it, but I didn't paint in SAI for some time and I don't remember. ^^

@Tigerlily another tip is to avoid deforming the picture as well is that you can holding shift while resizing to avoid the image losing its resolution and keeping the original size so you don't stretch or deform it from its original.

Basicly yes, they are allowed. But there will be place only for few of them, because I wanted this clan to be focused rather on tablet users - just because from my experience art done with mouse (and the whole techniqe) is so different from tablet painting - and it's important for me that we could share our experience. As we now have one mouse arist here, the others will be chosen more carfully and it would depend on their art level and activity, so don't be offended if you wouldn't get in. :)

PM me with your art examples if you figure out you want to join.

bit late, but saw that it wasn't mentioned:
-right click an image
-click copy
-open sai
-upper left-hand corner, click on file
-create from clipboard
-should open image in a new canvas
-upper right hand corner, click the gray colored button with an arrow pointing at a square (not the one that minimizes sai itself, just the canvas)
this should make the ref picture a separate window that you can move around on top of your drawing canvas! c:
