Varis tends to be the kind of hawk who usually is hard to get to know. He keeps many secrets to himself and he usually comes across in a state of depression. He can be protective and honest, but he usually doesn't share about how he sometimes loses his sanity. Around friends he struggles to blend in, and struggles to hold any tolerance for anything that will take too long. He takes faith in his duty, remaining calm whenever he sees something that is alerting. When he reports, he may miss small details, details that usually don't matter. He first goes on through big details, then later smaller details if he remembers them.

|History|
When Varis was young he was taken care of by his mother and father in the Western part of Montana. He lived on an open mountain next to a town that was taken over by humans. The humans didn't provide a threat which led them to be safe along the mountain side. Varis had longed to see the sunset since he had hatched, although was held back by his mother and father. They unfortunately lived on the side of the mountain to only where they could see the sun rise. The only hint of seeing the sunset was when the clouds turned amber or pink up in the clouds above. Before Varis was about ready to fly, his father left to go on a trip to find food near the forested mountains close to them. The next morning his father didn't return, worrying his mother and him himself. His mother told him to stay as she left to go in search for his father. Later in the afternoon, his mother returned with tears in her eyes. Just on the night before he were to fly he was told his father had died due to an accident. Sadness welled up in him and he didn't leave the nest for months. By the time he was fully grown, he had recovered from the sudden shock. Before he was about to fly off, he was told of a place that they had safety and shelter, and that the food was wonderful. He had agreed to find it, heading off towards where the sun had set, amazed at how the pink and orange glow had stained the skies as the sun set behind the mountains ahead. Long after he had left, he had found the place his mother had spoken of, finally finding a place where he could rest.

And the Red-Tailed Hawk was inspired by my dad who died because it was his favorite animal, so I couldn't wait to join this rp

Personality ~ Specter is a soft-spoken owl who does his best to fit in. He is mildly reclusive and often won't be the first to approach or speak to someone else. He is a rather delicate bird and is not one prone to fighting, abhorring violence and unnecessary bloodshed. He has however taken an interest in healing and has secretly been trying to find a way around simply killing the ill despite the risk of potentially defying the Parliament in the process. Specter is rather confident in his abilities, but retains a high sense of modesty and doesn't feel the need to brag about his skills, often disliking it when other birds do so and also because healing doesn't seem to be an appreciated talent in this flock. His more negative traits include silently judging birds he doesn't agree with and bottling up his emotions, often leading to some pretty strong feelings of resentment.

History ~ Hatched in a clutch of three, Specter was the youngest and weakest of his brood. His unusual coloring made his parents uneasy and before long she was chased from the nest, left to fend for himself on the ground below. He was taken in by another colony member, a kindly Great Gray Owl called Flicker, who took pity on the small owlet. Specter grew to adulthood well under her watchful eyes, but proved exceptionally bad at most survival skills including hunting and combat. His pure white feathers made it hard to sneak up on prey. His tiny, frail body easily thrashed aside by larger birds during battle training. His failure was not from any lack of trying, but eventually Flicker and his other trainers gave up. Unable to join the ranks, he has remained with the colony under the guise of living a peaceful life. In reality, he is very bored.
