Only accepted characters may post here Sign up here! Hunting Thread ![]() Before each post you must put this: Character name || Sex || Age || Rank This is to make sure there is no confusion. Occasionally I will post plot updates, with weather/prey/landscapes coming into play. You’ll see what I mean after I’ve done this a few times. Every update will have ‘Plot Update’ written before it. Please take your time with your responses, and allow at least couple of people to post their own replies before you post again, even if you’re only interacting with one person at the time. This makes sure replies are well thought out, nobody is controlling someone else’s character, and everyone has the chance to get involved in whatever happens before the RP moves on from that. Pack hunts will be arranged every so often by the alpha. Once the alpha has chosen the hunters you will RP that your character has left with the hunting party, and then switch to the hunting thread to RP the hunt. This is so that characters in the hunt and in the rest of the pack don’t get confused about who is where. I find it makes things much easier to follow this way. You may hunt small prey alone here, but group hunting must be done away from the pack, in the hunting thread. You will then RP your return here, and either bring the prey or lead the pack to the prey, all in this thread. Only hunting will take place in the hunting thread. My rule of at least four sentences per post is absolute. If you don’t follow this you will get a strike by your name. Three strikes and you will no longer be allowed to rp here. I may remove a strike if you post a lot of detail in your next few posts. Strikes Nobody :3 let’s keep it that way, yeah? The last thing to say is have fun everyone! Current Plot Update The battle won, Remington’s pack have reached the top of the mountains. They must begin the trek down over loose stones and giant sloped boulders. Ahead of the base lies a plateau of uneven ground, cracked like a desert but dark like a muddy puddle. It is unknown whether the surface will hold the pack, or what lies beneath should it collapse. To the far left the mountain range wraps around this plateau and into the distance, and to the far right the mountain range ends and gives way to thick woods covered in dense bushes and vines. Once again the pack must make their choice for direction… Character SheetsNo thread generated. Velvet || Female || 4 years || Remington’s Mate || Alpha Female Velvet’s appearance Velvet felt her heart drop as she looked out at the scene before her. She had hoped that after such a violent battle they would almost be at the Valley of Hope, where they would be able to tend their wounds and rest up. They weren’t so lucky. As far as she could see was a vast plateau of tough terrain that she was unsure they could cross, that was if they made it down the other side of the great mountain they had scaled first. They could always follow the mountain range to the left, but it seemed to go on forever. The forest to the right was tempting, but navigating the dense bushes that seemed to cover it could end up with them all separated. Then again, they were already separated. The chaos of the battle and running through Shadow’s territory had split her from the rest of the pack. She had followed the plan and made it to the top, hoping they would meet her there. With a sigh, Velvet turned from the new terrain and lay down, head landing on her paws as she watched for her pack mates. The rocks jutted out, making it hard to see very far down, and the wind blew in the wrong direction for her to smell them. Of course, that meant her scent was wafting down the mountain side, letting anyone headed in her direction know where she was. Tired and unsure whether her pack mates were still alive, Velvet waited. ![]() |

Tunstall|Male|8 Years|Hunter [Quick thing; My city is under a hurricane watch right now, so if I randomly stop replying, It’s because I lost power] Rocks…rocks...rocks… It was all he could see, for what seemed like forever on either side. He was growing tired of climbing, the pads of his paw scratched up and raw. The worst part was, with the way the rocks were positioned, he couldn’t tell how close he was to the top. He let out a sharp yip as he almost slipped, struggling to regain his footing for a moment. Letting out a frustrated growl, he stood for a moment to attempt to collect himself. It would be so much easier if he hadn’t been separated from the pack. After a few moments he started to climb again, his ears perking as the wind carried Velvet’s scent and he moved again with new enthusiasm. It gave him a little more hope. It took a fair bit of time, but he made it to the top, spotting his pack-mate immediately, letting out a huff of relief ”You are certainly a sight for sore eyes” He said, tail swaying a bit. He tilted his head down a bit out of respect, before turning to look over the other side of the mountain, feeling his hopes drop a little. The land looked unforgiving, and not at all what he wanted to see. He sighed, sitting and facing the edge to take it in. ![]() |

Leania had heard the massive fight calm down so she went to check it out. she limped up to the bloody war zone and her ears laid back. she sniffed at the air and smelled the wolves at the top. she moved around the bottom and yipped after she hurt her already bad paw. she sighed as she looked around with a sad look on her face. "war is horrible.... but im glad someone survived" ![]() |

Velvet || Female || 4 years || Remington’s Mate || Alpha Female Velvet’s appearance A low whine escaped Velvet as she shifted her head slightly, no signs of other wolves around yet. She didn’t want to lose her new pack, not after only just getting over the heartbreak of her birth pack’s destruction. Though they hadn’t been the first to attack, as alpha female she couldn’t help but feel responsible for dragging the pack into a situation that allowed the fight to take place. She didn’t choose the position, only earning it by mating with the pack’s chosen alpha, Remington, but since becoming alpha female she had been determined to do the job properly. She cared for every member of their mixed up pack and it hurt to know they might be separated for good. She sighed again but was suddenly startled by a sharp yip further down the mountain. Her ears perked and she stood quickly. She paused, having been about to step forward, when Tunstall appeared. The hunter was older than she was yet bowed his head, respectful of her rank. It still made her feel a bit awkward to have other wolves submit to her, given her old rank of pupsitter in her birth pack, but she was getting more used to it. Velvet grinned, bounding over to him, tail high and wagging. ”Tunstall!” she laughed, ”It’s such a relief to see you. I’ve been so worried for everyone. Is anyone with you?” She looked to the spot he’d appeared from as he turned to the desolate lands ahead, but didn’t see another wolf. Tail dropping slightly, she turned her back to the way they’d come and sat next to the hunter, nudging his shoulder with her own. ”It looks like we’ve got a tough journey ahead, but at least we’re not alone.” Although trying to keep him optimistic, she couldn’t help the pessimism she felt; what if they were the only ones left? Almost as soon as she had that thought, it was countered by the strained voice behind them. Spinning around, Velvet’s joy quickly came back. ”Alamora,” her tail wagged, lower than it had been towards Tunstall for she had massive respect for elder wolves. She trotted over to lick at the female’s forehead, ”You look exhausted. Rest for now while we wait to see if anyone else made it through.” The alpha looked out from atop the massive mountain, surveying the area. The rock jutted out, blocking most of the mountain and the site of the battle from view. She paused, nervous to give away their position should any of Shadow’s pack be lurking and out for vengeance. She shook her head; getting the pack together was more important than worrying about that. She took a deep breath and then let loose a melodic howl, calling for her pack to meet up and singing for her mate to return to her side. ![]() |

Dakota ~ Male ~ 3 Years ~ Lead Hunter Location: Mountain Mentions0: Velvet, Tunstall, Alamora Dakota's muscles ached and his legs shook. His mind begged him to take another step forward, to just keep walking, but his body was giving up on him. He placed his shaky paw on a boulder and poured every inch of his energy into lifting his body up, pulling himself up, but he collapsed hard onto the rough surface. He tumbled downwards a bit, rolling down the rocky slope. When he stopped falling, he couldn't stand. He let himself lay there for a moment, Just a moment... he told himself. His chest rose and fell quickly. His bones were sore and his eyes were squeezed shut. Once again he tries to pull himself up, this time only to his paws. Still, he can't manage and he collapses. As he lay on the boulders, he grants himself time to think about the war he had just survived. So much blood... he's surprised he made it. He sighs and thinks about his pack. Maybe he should go back and look for them again... He can't bare the thought of losing them, after all they went through. Just as he lifted his head to look back, a strong scent drifted by his nose. For once, light had found it's way into the darkness of the moment. Before he knew it, Dakota was standing and attempting to climb towards the scent. "Velvet?" he called quietly. A new burst of energy had found it's way into Dakota's body through the smell of his alpha. In a matter of minutes he had her in his sights. Once at the top, he didn't hesitate to bounce over to her, greeting her with an energetic rub against her head. He had a bounce in his step as he circled her playfully. "I very delighted to see you well, alpha." As happy as he was, his eyes scanned the terrain for Remington. When the uniquely patterned canine hadn't come into sight, Dakota's ears and tail sagged in disappointment. "Where's Remington, alpha?" He took a step back and lowered his head in respect, worried that something may have went horribly wrong in battle. It was in this moment Dakota noticed the other wolves around.Had he not been so concerned with the safety of their leaders, he may have approached them. ![]() |

Milo // Male // 4 years // Loner The sounds of battle had stirred Milo from his hiding spot along the edges of the territory belonging to a wolf he knew as Shadow. After weeks of watching the wolf's pack from the borders, he'd decided that not joining them or getting too close was a better idea. Something about the alpha of that pack had given him an awful feeling. On his own, he had survived as a scavenger, picking off small prey and never letting his scent linger anywhere for too long. He'd managed to evade them, but had been able to keep up with some of their dramatics. When a new group of scents came to the area, he had been one of the first to know, immediately feeling like a second pack would only make for trouble. He had been right, a battle had ensued soon after. After snatching up one last meal, Milo had elected to move to higher ground to stay out of anyone's line of fire. Heading into the mountains, he'd even managed to stay under any passing wolves' radar as they moved into the cliffs by staying upwind of them. However, as they all seemed to be reaching the top, he realized it would be difficult to avoid them for much longer. He had choices. He could hide until they picked a direction, then go the other way... but he didn't trust the plateau to hold even his weight alone, and the other way the forest may have been too thick to muscle through. He could head back down the mountain... but if any of the resident pack were around, they would be looking for outsiders and he would become a punching bag of worse. Hiding where a group of jagged rocks made a small overhand, shadows hiding him rather well, he watched the wolves gather. They were still rather far away from him, but he could see how they moved. He couldn't hear them speak, but he sure could hear the howl that called the missing members together. ![]() |

(This is gonna be a shit post XD) Tyrael Tyrael had been living off the land for a few months now, his mother having past and sending him spiriling into a depression. On his travels he came across the Shadow pack however but didn't dare stay with them. Instead skirting their borders and hunting the few rabbits and such that came his way. Not even a week after settling there a group of wolves passed through, possibly a second pack. The brute watched in the shadows, refusing to join in the fight, as they battled. Nearly running into a few of the local loners, though the chimera pelted male had made a point to avoid them he would probably get drug into the drama sooner or later. ![]() |

Aristo(Aris) - Male - 5 Years - Loner Location: Mountain Side / Mentions: Entire Pack Often drawn towards scenes of battle and gore, the chocolate-tinged lord couldn't resist charging down towards the pack vs. pack battle unfolding nearby. Of course, being a rather intelligent individual, he first intended to shadow the crowd of wolves to observe and decide on just which side would be awarded his assistance. It didn't take long before Aristo picked apart bad guys from good guys, taking note of dirty fighting styles and vile expressions. Upon witnessing a member of Remington's pack about to be teamed up on, the tank-like male finally rushed in to play as their defense. Their rescue. When the battle came to a dragging end, be it by death or retreat of the losers, Aristro found himself slathered in crimson liquids from head to tail. T'was obvious that this bloody substance did not come from only one victim, and some even belonged to Aris himself. His body sported fresh wounds, a noticeable limp performed by his right front paw. Otherwise, the hulking beast seemed fair off. The Alphess' howl was what finally drew the male's attention from the deathly scene in front him, a single of those arrow-shaped ears swiveling backward before his gaze followed. There was an obvious decision to be made now. Be gone, back to his rogue title? Or scale the mountain's steep slope with the assumption of a reward. Reward being anything from an appreciative smooch to/or an offering of rank. A sense of satisfaction arose at the possibility of purpose, and this had Aristo turning towards the slope and initiating a slow walk forwards. Gaze took to the male wolf whom had collapsed; oh, but he muscled through to the top. Good show. Attention also found itself on the elder female, finding himself wincing as she groaned. But whom really had Aristo's focus? The female alpha, perched so lovely at the mountain's peak. Upon climbing his way heavenward and meeting the mountain's flat shelf, if not intercepted by any of the pack's actual members, Aristo would claim himself a place at a respectable distance. His skull was bowed low, tail relaxed, awaiting the others to finish speaking before his masculine voice tore through a moment of silence. "That was quite a show," he'd muse, indirectly complimenting the group on their victory. In this moment the male's head rose back to its normal height, facial pointed the Alphess' direction so to garner her attention as he introduced himself. "I am Aristo," he'd start, awaiting a response. ![]() Edited on 05/10/16 @ 08:09:16 by Soltero (#9059) |

Kade || Female || 5 years old || Beta female || Mentions: Velvet, Rivers Kade was supporting Rivers up the last bit of the mountain. She had found the younger wolf collapsed; the stress had finally gotten to her. It wasn't far now, though. Then Rivers collapsed again. Kade silently picked her up, arranging her so that she could be carried on her back, and the beta powered through the last half mile. As soon as she reached Velvet, she didn't even speak - she just fell to the ground, as one of her legs buckled, unable to support the weight of two wolves. She could barely move herself off of Rivers's legs. "Vel," she croaked, dragging herself to her feet and nodding to the alpha, before staggering to Rivers to make sure she wasn't injured. "Vel, I think she's pregnant." As she spoke, Rivers stirred, momentarily opening her eyes, before real sleep overtook her. "Where's Remington?" she asked, once her head cleared enough to register who all was there. "We're going to need to regroup and rest here. She can't go on like this, and I'm sure we are all going to be in her condition soon if we press on. And we'll need to hunt. The last thing I ate was before we fought Shadow's pack, when the group hunted." Already, she was trying to organize things in her mind, despite it being foggy from exhaustion. Ezrin || Female || 2 years || Unranked || Mentions: Generally everyone Ezrin, a moment after Kade and Rivers, came up over the ridge. She was not so tired as either of them, perhaps still awake enough that a hunt could be attempted. She took a moment to catch her breath and listen to whatever it was the old beta was saying. "I . . . can hunt. I know . . . how to . . . around here. Used to be with . . . Shadow," she said, having to stop every few words to take a breath. She didn't bother to elaborate on that; she just sat down and looked at everyone that was there. While she did not know the pack, she did get the nagging feeling that someone was missing. Their alpha and beta females were accounted for, and she was fairly certain that they didn't have a beta male. So where was their male alpha? Probably still coming up the mountain. She was used to running up and down mountainsides, so of course it hadn't taken her as long as it could have; no wonder not everyone from her new pack had arrived yet. ((Both of those are shitty, I'm sorry. I would post with Rivers, but she's kinda passed out.)) ![]() |

Tunstall|Male|8 Years|Hunter| Mentions-Everyone Just seeing the familiar face put Tunstall in better spirits. “I was separated from the others in the woods near the foot of the mountain” he said a bit sadly, huffing out another sigh. “I’m sure they’ll show soon.” Optimism seemed like the way to go in this situation. While the sight before them was quite depressing, if they at least had one another they would make it. Though he had less and less hope that the Valley of Hope existed. His ears flicked forward as voices sounded behind them. He felt his hopes rise again as more and more familiar faces began to appear. His tail wagged, though he hung back, just watching his friends. He eyed the strangers with skepticism. He greeted his friends softly, skirting around and keeping his distance from the others. After a few moments he sat himself a few feet away from Velvet, watching the new male that approached. He was still a bit on edge from the day’s events. As the girl who came up the mountain with Kade spoke of hunting, his stomach decided to remind him just when the last time he had eaten was. “If you’d like, I could assist. A meal would serve us well. And I’m sure the others would appreciate coming up to a snack as well” he suggested, looking to his Alpha and Dakota, since they were in charge of those sorts of things. ![]() Edited on 05/10/16 @ 09:08:23 by Logan {Lights Off} (#85963) |

Velvet || Female || 4 years || Remington’s Mate || Alpha Female Velvet’s appearance Velvet frowned as Tunstall told her what had happened to him. It was similar to her own story; getting separated near the base of the mountain and struggling up alone in the hopes of meeting everyone again. She couldn’t help but smile slightly as he took on his own optimistic approach, telling her he was sure they’d all turn up. She couldn’t fathom an existence without them, not now that they’d grown so close. Having greeted Alamora and sent out a howl to the rest of her pack, Velvet could only hope as she waited. The waiting didn’t last long as a familiar face appeared over the ridge, calling her name. ”Dakota!” she grinned, dashing forwards to greet her friend, ”I was so worried that you’d be thinking too much on your argument and get ambushed by the other pack.” She lifted her front paws, dancing with excitement as he circled her. As the adrenaline rush of the reunion wore off she saw his stance fall as he voiced the thought she’d been keeping to herself. ”I don’t know where Remington is,” she looked away, worry taking over her features, ”The last I saw of him was in the middle of the battle as I guided Rivers away.” The sound of another wolf approaching drew Velvet away from Dakota, eager to see who would be next to appear. Her tail began to wag, muscles tensed and ready to bound at her pack mate. She was shocked by the appearance of a stranger over the ridge, momentarily taken aback. He ducked his head and greeted them, introducing himself as Aristo. Snarling slightly, Velvet stepped forward to deliberately place herself between her exhausted pack members and the stranger. Her slender frame wasn’t built for fighting, her pristine fur telling of the peaceful life she’d let. However, afraid for the lives of their missing pack mates, her flirtatious personality had been stripped back and all she could think of was protecting her friends. ”Where do you come from?” she addressed him, tail in a high dominant position and chest puffed forward. He didn’t smell of the wolves in Shadow’s back, but better safe than sorry. ”If you mean to carry on Shadow’s work then you can think again. We’re tired but you’re outnumbered.” Having led the weaker members away from the battle as it began, Velvet didn’t know that Aristo had aided her packmates. As the words left her, Kade and Rivers appeared over the ridge. She kept an eye on Aristo, waiting for his response, as she listened to Kade speak. She was glad her beta was here; if Aristo wanted to carry on the fight then Kade would be much more useful than Velvet. ”Kade,” she greeted her friend warmly, eyes still on the male, ”Was this Aristo involved in the fight?” Hearing Kade’s suspicions about Rivers only escalated what Velvet had been thinking when the females had last been together. Trusting Kade to make a move against the stranger if he did anything, Velvet finally took her eyes off him and trotted over to nudge Rivers in greeting, then lick at her forehead as she fell asleep. ”Rest is definitely a priority right now,” she replied to Kade, ”Most of us are worn out, and those who aren’t here yet need the chance to catch up.” Another stranger appeared then, offering to hunt. Velvet’s hackles rose fully, the scent of Shadow’s pack all over this female. ”Your pack just attacked mine,” she snarled, ”Why are you offering help now?” Her ear flicked as Tunstall spoke, agreeing to assist in a hunt. Perhaps if her pack member was okay with this female, she should give her a chance. She eyed her suspiciously and made a decision, ”I think a hunt is necessary. However, I won’t allow my pack to be outnumbered even if you did say you ‘used’ to be in Shadow’s. Dakota, you’re our lead hunter. Are you feeling up to going with them?” ![]() |

Jasper Jasper walked through the wreckage of his past packmates, even a few of the other pack's. He let out a long, mournful, howl for the lost lives over something so foolish. He had stayed back to watch the pups of the pack, but many had poofed with their mothers in the beginning of the war. With nothing to loose the male walked through the dead bodies with low whines. Finding a struggling wolf, one of the opposite pack it seemed, who was barely hanging onto life. "Sleep well." He took the wolf's neck in his mouth and ended his misery. The brute looked to the heavens with a sigh, hoping the wolf made it fine. He repeated the process until any struggling wolves were put down. Most were from Shadow's pack and he snorted at the thought but was merciful as they had been to him months before the war. Tyrael Tyrael shifted on his paws as the alpha became aggressive, taking steps back and stepping on a twig. A resonating *CRACK* sounding and he winced. Decision made he moved forwards slowly, practically on his stomach with his head bowed. The male stopped a good distance away and kept in a submissive posture. As much as his pride hated it, it needed to be done. He had nothing to say really, just "I wish to join you're ranks, I would like to insist on joining this hunt to prove my worth." He knew he smelt nothing of Shadow or his pack, just the bits from a few encounters with them and living on their borders for a few months. ![]() Edited on 05/10/16 @ 10:18:07 by Wolflord (LOff!)
