Private RP between myself and 32475 Star Log Date: April 3rd, 2537 Mission: To scout for new worlds Number of Occupants: 100 Crew Log Author: James Grant Months ago, we launched into space on a scouting mission for a new world to plant Earth residents on. Our own planet is dying, and we need to find a location to transfer to. The goal is to locate a planet similar to our own world. So far, we've located nothing. There have been stars, planets and suns and moons, but nothing of suitable living. The mission has grown desperate, and I fear that my sister and I will never find a place to truly call home. Will we be lost out here in space forever, I wonder? Will we ever see home? Supplies, at this time, are in a good status, but how long will they last? The past several days, we've had many emergencies, especially in the engineering room. The Core has been failing for some time now, and the causes are currently unknown. To go back to Earth would be a death sentence for us all. We must find a place to land our ship... I just hope the captain knows what he's doing.... That was the last Star Log that James would get to put in. Just as he was finishing it, the alarms began to ring, and something exploded upon the ship. It was jarring, and had him falling out of his seat with a grunt. The man shook his head a bit, stood to his feet. His sister, he had to find his sister. Over the intercoms, one could hear the captain speaking. "This is your Captain speaking. An evacuation order has been sent out. Calmly make your way to the pods, and abandon the ship. I repeat, an evacuation order has been sent out." Paling a bit, James was quick to sprint down the hall to the Women's quarters. He was screaming, shouting, for his sister. Where was she...? Little did they know that this would be a new start for them.... Character SheetsView and Post Character Sheets![]() |

Adlaide nodded, the idea of the girl never being free causing a deep anger to arise in the back of her mind. "Yes. With a little bit of lock picking it will come off very easily." She offered a somewhat cheerful smile. "My name's Adlaide, what's yours?" Did the girl even have a name? The pit of her stomach rolled at the thought. How could someone not have a name? How would it feel to not have a name? She blinked trying to keep the dark anger she felt rising from her eyes and appearance. Ngea glanced down the hill. Yes, the creature was essentially a rabbit, however it was faster and larger than the creature from earth. It was also far more skittish and easily scared. In other words, it was nearly impossible for a youngling to catch. The idea of a fresh kill caused her mouth to water, her tongue flicked out of her jaws and ran over her soft muzzle. Food would be very good, for everyone. But she'd have to catch a few of those rabbit like creatures before everyone would have enough to eat. She was almost worried about this much, especially with her shoulder. ![]() |

"No... No name..." She then answered. "Not given one..." Vampires were strange creatures, often renaming those who were bitten. She had never been given one, and she'd simply been a little amusement to the lead vampire. Vampires were...strange creatures, for the most part. At this point, though, she was relaxing a little bit, thankfully. "I... I can help hunt...if you like." It'd be of no issue, to be honest. He knew how to hunt back on earth. Sure, he'd not done it for a while, but he could hunt still. It'd be new, different. Surely it wouldn't be an issue...would it? ![]() |

Adlaide shook her head. "Everyone deserves a name. Why don't you come with me." She glanced up the hill. She didn't like being somewhere she felt out of in the open. "It's safer up there and maybe we can get that terrible shackle off." She smiled softly, her gaze worried. Her mind wandered back to Mordecai, he was injured. She wanted to get back up there and help out with his wounds. Some of them looked pretty bad. Ngea blinked. "I think that will work..." Her mind flew back to the last time she had gone hunting with a someone similar to a human. At least that person had some sort of weapon. Ah well. He could at least scare the creatures into her paws. That would make it fast and easy, for the most part. If it didn't dive between her paws. "Seeing you've identified something edible let's go fetch it for dinner before it decides to disappear forever in one of those horrible burrows." Her lip curled slightly, she'd chased numerous of those fluffs right to their burrows where they never seemed to reappear. ![]() |

She was a little worried about going up there. What if her new master didn't want that? What if he was mad at her? She was more than just a little timid, but the young woman followed after Adlaide. Her eyes could barely even glance up at Mordecai as they came upon him, he just laying down and trying to rest. He'd long since abandoned licking his wounds, some of the more serious ones still slowly oozing with blood. "Umm... SUre... I guess just tell me what to do?" Was he doing this as a human...? As a wolf...? James didn't question it, so he just followed after Ngea. This was going to be interesting. ![]() |

Adlaide glanced at Mordecai and gave a little nod before turning back to the vampire girl. She didn't know what to say right then, and she nearly felt bad about it. She shuffled her feet and glanced towards the sky, it didn't have the same wow factor it used to but it was fairly pretty still. Ngea threw a sarcastic look over her shoulder. "No, you're going to have to figure out what to do on your own." She raised a brow. "Come on James. I'm not going to just leave you in complete oblivion about what to do. My plan should work in either form. Just follow me and try not to make any sounds." She padded faster though the underbrush, her eyes now firmly fixed on the area where the underbrush melted away into a meadow of heather like plants. ![]() |

"It'll do some good if you both sit," Mordecai then called, not even sparing the pair a glance. He was just rather exhausted. The vampires wouldn't risk coming up here just yet, either, he knew. Their leader had fled, along with several of them dying.... "Uh...sure..." James frowned a bit, but followed after. This was definitely strange. Very strange. Extremely strange, in fact. If it wasn't for the fact that this was real, he'd have wondered what on earth he'd ate or drank that caused him such a vivid and crazy dream.... ![]() |

Adlaide agreed and sat down carefully. She glanced at the young vampire woman. "Is there a name you've always liked?" She was currently digging through her pockets, trying to see if she had anything decently strong or small enough to pick a lock. She wasn't overly fond of the lock picking skills she had acquired on Earth but they had come in handy several times. Especially when she snuck into the Library to get another book or two. Finding only finding a wire like strand of something and not much else she sighed. She'd never used a wire to pick a lock, but had read all about the several great thieves who could force a lock with flimsy piece of wire. Ngea paused before they got to the meadow, she shifted back into her humanish form and motioned subtly to keep quiet. Then she pointed towards where a large rabbit like creature sat nibbling on the roots of some plant. Her plan was simple, he go up behind the thing and scare it right into her paws. That would conserve the energy of all parties and simplify the act of catching the rabbit. ![]() |

She shrugged at this, and just carefully sat herself down, her hands folded neatly, legs tucked beneath her. Not the most comfortable position for her, but she sat that way because she was supposed to, just in case. Names... She wasn't supposed to pick it. Mordecai now was. Not that he'd choose it for her. He didn't follow vampire methods. A brow rose at the odd creature. It was as big as a dog, possibly even a horse... How...strange. It was large, fluffy, built for speed, for sure. It had a bunny tail, alright, legs like a jack rabbit, and....antlers? Jackalope, anyone? But, he gave a nod at that. James would do as needed. ![]() |

Ngea nodded then shifted back into a wolf. She crept silently towards the massive rabbit like thing. It would be delicious, and a easy catch if all went as planned. Sure it was somewhat larger than Ngea, but she was also tougher than it. Those horns could be dangerous, but Ngea had played around enough with these things she knew all their moves and could avoid them. Unlike Adlaide's view of fighting, Nge saw it as a game. The enemy makes a move, you return your own move. It was a realistic way of viewing war, or any sort of fight. Except, of course, most games aren't so dangerous you may die if you do the wrong thing. Either way, the game with this rabbit, was simple and it would be over before it even began. Especially with James help... if he could keep quiet enough while circling around behind it. Adlaide twisted the piece of wire, then tucked it back in her pocket. Perhaps she should wait to take that thing off. She glanced at Mordecai and her brow wrinkled slightly as she saw blood still oozing from some of the wounds. "Do you need me to get anything Mordecai?" Her tone was riddled with worry. The last thing they would need was any of them to be injured or sick. They were bad enough off with two humans that had yet to prove their worth in anything. Well... Adlaide still considered scaring the night-folk off nothing. But she knew it didn't prove much, besides, proving a point wasn't the point at all. It was saving this world from a fate much like Earth's... except for one thing, Earth had been able to escape. This world had no such technology. ![]() |

James was, yes, quiet. He even made himself stay downwind of the creature as much as possible. Those long ears of its were very handy, he knew. A small frown was given, and the man soon glanced towards where Ngea was. She seemed ot be in a rather good spot, so he carefully inched forward, much like he would as a hunter. When in just the right spot, he jumped from the brush, the large creature spooking and running right towards Ngea. She'd chosen her place wisely, as its nesting ground was just beyond her. "Hm? Oh, if you'd like to look, go ahead. I'm open to surgeries and such." Mordecai wasn't opposed to being checked over by her hands. If she could close them? Then she'd be allowed to do so. "There's a few good grasses around here that make fine thread when carefully stripped down." ![]() |

Ngea lunged, sweeping in as the creature landed and colliding with it's large rabbit throat. Her jaws clamped down, this kill wouldn't be a bloodless one... that was somewhat worrying to her. She released her grip on it's neck and sprang after it leaping again and this time at a better angle. She grabbed the back of it's neck as she wanted, but not without some price. She'd stressed her shoulder in such a way that it was now bleeding some, she'd have to stop it before returning home or else they'd lead dangerous creature right back to the others. With the sharpest movement she could muster the creature fell still beneath her, dead with hardly a sound. "Could you give a little bit of a better description? I don't want to get the wrong kind." She'd done some sewing on Earth, closing the wounds wouldn't be much harder than that. But she'd probably be grimacing all the while. A shiver rolled down her spine causing goosebumps to run up and down her arms, no she wasn't too good of a nurse. ![]() |

James was relieved that not a whole lot had honestly happened. The odd rabbit...horse...deer? thing had tried to get to its burrow. No such luck for it, thankfully. The man moved close to her then, noted the crimson on her coat. "You alright...?" She didn't seem to be doing okay. And while his wound was no better, it was merely a flesh wound, nothing that even really, truly, bothered him. "Hm? Of what? Sewing? I think you know how to do that. You want to learn? Learn by doing," Mordecai then stated. "I don't exactly give good lessons on healing stuff anyway. Ngea's mother... She..." SHe was good at that sort of thing... His ears flattened a bit, and a soft sigh was given then. ![]() |

Ngea released her hold on the creatures neck and turned to look at it. Unfortunately it was just at that point on her shoulder where she couldn't see it no matter how she twisted or stretched. She fell back on her haunches her ears pinned as she finally gave up. "It'll be fine." She said ignoring the pain and standing somewhat slowly. She shifted back into her humanish form and walked over to the largish creature. She pulled her knife out and sighed. "Let's butcher it here and pack it in it's hide. Maybe that way there won't be any predators that come around where everyone is currently." She flipped the carcass over then frowned, honestly it hurt more than she let on, but it was more the feeling that blood was running down her shoulder that annoyed her most. "Have you ever butchered an animal?" Adlaide considered his words then decided to ignore the gloomy part, rolling her eyes she replied. "The grass. I know how to sew. You very vaguely described the grass. I'll go fetch some as soon as I know what it looks like." She figured that Ngea's family had been very close with Mordecai, perhaps they even saw him as a son of sorts. That's certainly what it looked like, especially the very soft and careful way which he spoke about them. Mordecai certainly held them in high regards if nothing else. ![]() |

James snorted at that, a rather dulled expression upon his face. "I told you I've hunted before, remember? Not sit down, turn around and let me see your shoulder..." And there was no way he was taking no for an answer. The meal wasn't going anywhere just yet, and he could do a quick one-two patch up job with cloth. A wound left to fester often meant that the wound was going to get infected, and eventually get to the point where there was no return. He didn't know of the medicines here on this world, so he wanted to take care of it now. "Oh, you'll know it when you see it. Tall, green, soft as a feather and strong as a spider's nest." Mordecai did hold the family in high regards, but chances were...the family was now dead. Just he and Ngea remained, as far as the pair knew. The horse that she'd been forced to kill, after all, was that of her father's... ![]() |

"Just because someone's hunted doesn't mean they've butchered an animal. I've been on plenty of hunting parties where they hunted the animal then took it to the butcher shop. I assume at home you had something similar." While James was stubborn, Ngea was just as stubborn. "If it cools to much the skin will be hard to get off in one complete piece. It's not a problem that needs to be addressed." She rather ignored James and set to work, carefully beginning to skin the animal. The strokes of her knife, though sure and quick, shook a little bit, betraying that her shoulder was actually a problem that should be addressed sooner rather than later. Adlaide gave a little smile then nodded. "Now I'll now it when I see it." She walked off at a brisk pace, searching around the area. It wasn't long at all before she found the plant Mordecai had described. It was indeed soft as goose down, and when she attempted to pluck it, it refused to budge. Strong it was. Adlaide shrugged and improvised, pulling the blades of grass up and giving them a sharp twist. She soon had enough and went back over to Mordecai. But then came the fact she didn't have a needle. She sat down and started stripping the long blades into string like fibers. "What about a needle?" ![]() |
