Halftail was curled up outside the nursery, dozing peacefully. She lifted her head when she heard someone leave the nursery, and looked up to see Roseflight emerge, direction to the fresh-kill pile. She greeted the queen as she passed, taking notice to the hunger growing in her stomach. She trotted after the pale she-cat, her small tail high in the air as she went. *

*Silverpaw sat with his tail curled at his paws. Sitting silently, he gazed around camp, ears twitching, listening to the sounds of the river. He wasn't paying attention to much else, and was startled when Shatteredpaw dart out of the apprentice den, over towards the group of cats at the warriors den. Whats going on over there? He wondered to himself, following after Shatteredpaw. When he reached the she-cat, he stopped beside her.* "Do you know whats going on?" *He asked her, confusion evident in his voice.*

Shatteredpaw turned to Silverpaw, her icy blue eyes resting on the tom. "No" she murmured, glancing back at all the commotion. She could tell by the confusion in his voice that he didn't know either. "I think something happened to Waxentooth, but I don't know" she added, flicking her tail.

The aging deputy remained flat on her side, face hidden from view. She could hear those voices, whispering, shrieking, whatever. Voices. Voices.More voices. She scrambled to her feet and let out a weak hiss. Cats. Who? She tried putting names to faces. Loststar. Dewrain. Duststorm. They were her clan-mates. Why were they looking at her so funny? WaxenTooth felt more needles stab her belly and her face. They didn't stop until she was panting in exhaustion and sitting down, struggling to keep from falling over.

Shatteredpaw | She-Cat | Apprentice | Mentions: Silverpaw, Waxentooth, and the cats gathered around Waxentooth

Shatteredpaw glanced over at Silverpaw who was padding towards the group. She felt curiosity bubbling up inside her too and gave a small smile, padding over to him, keeping her paw steps light. She could already hear the worried voices, talking about someone not breathing. She saw a small gap in the wall of cats around whoever it was that wasn't breathing, and could see the thick fur of a cat laying on it's side. She wanted a closer look. She glanced at Silverpaw, "Here" she said, nudging her head in the direction of the gap. Shatteredpaw padded forward, sticking her head through the gap to see who it was, her icy blue eyes big with curiosity. She recognized the deputy instantly, it was Waxentooth. Before Shatteredpaw could react, Waxentooth scrambled to her feet and glanced around in confusion. Shatteredpaw backed up a little in surprise, watching as the Deputy sat down shakily.

*Silverpaw padded up to the group with Shatteredpaw, the voices of worried cats getting stronger. He poked his head through the gap Shatteredpaw showed him, looking around for the cause of the commotion. His yellow eyes landed on Waxentooth, laying on the ground, Loststar, Dewrain and Duststorm at her side. The young cat jumped slightly in surprise as the deputy got to her feet, letting out a hiss. He calmed down, watching the she-cat with worried eyes, as she sat down, clearly struggling to not fall.*

"Morning Halftail" she purred, bending down and grabbing a vole with her teeth, she then moved to the side so that the queen could grab something. She was about to comment on something quaint like the weather, but a commotion broke the silence. She whipped around to see Waxentooth on the ground, Whitekit in floods of tears and countless clanmates surrounding her. "What happened?!" She asked, tail flicking nervously.

WaxenTooth forced herself to stand, another weak excuse for a hiss escaping her throat. "Would ye give a poor lass some room? I need te catch me breath," the hellion wheezed irritably. Her harsh gaze landed upon Whitekit, who had exploded into tears, tiny body pressed against WaxenTooth's foreleg. "Oh me love, don't cry. I'm good now," she tried to assure the small cat albeit everyone in camp knew better.

Dewrain stared at Waxentooth as if she had grown another head, but he stepped back. He glanced at the cats around her, then flicked an ear as he nervously responded to Roseflight. "She.. just collapsed? I think? And.. and she started thrashing.. she couldn't breathe for a bit.." He murmured, glancing over to Dustsotrm, then to Whitekit who had started crying. Sympathy filled his eyes, but he turned around and walked away. There were too many cats nearby, and he had to get some air. He slipped out of his camp, his head spinning. So many things are happening..

The giant ran her comb-like tongue over the kit's forehead in an apologetic gesture, her body quivering under the pressure. Pins and needles. Needles and pins. Sticks. Stone. Broken bones. WaxenTooth blinked a few times, audits still flattened.

*Halftail grabbed a large fish from the fresh-kill pile, and headed towards Roseflight, so she could eat with the other Queen. She was about to sit down, when her line of sight moved over to the commotion, noticing Waxentooth with Whitekit by her side, and several other cats surrounding. She listened as Dewrain explain to Roseflight what happened to the deputy, and her eyes widened. What could have caused that? She wondered, concerned for her clan mate. Her eyes clouded with sympathy as Whitekit cried, clearly worried about the cat she seemed to have grown quite attached to.*

*Duststorm backed away, giving the she-cat some room. Since a lot of others where here now, he figured he should leave, since he really wasn't much help. He looked around, spotted Halftail, and padded over to the queen. He gave her a small smile as he approached, listening to the last bit of what Dewrain was explaining, before watching the other tom head towards the camp entrance. He turned back to his sister, and sat beside her, his tail flicking back and forth. His eyes drifted around him, and he saw Roseflight, so he greeted her with a nod of his head, and returned to looking at his surroundings.*
