A sharp clap like sound wrenched its way into Tarans dark bubble, bringing a flash of off white light with it. Had she been conscious, the slap might have been enough to bring tears to her eyes, coming from another celestial, but buried deep within herself, she was to numb too even register the sting that would surely leave its mark on her cheek. Though Taran didn’t feel it, the slap did have an marked effect the glass dome like structure Taran had hidden in had developed the equivalent to hairline cracks, through which sounds slowly filtered into Tarans consciousness. These sounds pushed their way into Tarans ears, making them impossible to ignore.

Taran mewled slightly, trying valiantly to push the intruding noises away, the internal struggle visible on her face as she was carried through the crowd of people, where incidentally the noise level was loudest. As the three celestials moved away from the bustle of people, Taran relaxed slightly. The damage to her internal safe place however was already wrought and could not be fixed. As such, she was able to hear and slowly understand the whole conversation her helpers, or whatever they were, were having.

The first word that truly registered was “Ophiuchus” and something other than numbness blossomed within her; anger, tinged with a little fear. Slowly, the memories of their fall from the heavens trickled back to her. Ophiuchus was the reason she felt so alone and lost. He was the reason she had lost all contact to her companions and the Stars that were her very core. The next thing to leave a lasting impression were the words “Then I will protect you." It wasn’t so much what the person had said, but their tone. She knew that voice. Though their places in the Heavens had been quite far apart, they had always got on very well.

“Capri?” It was more a croak than a whisper, and hardly louder than a breath of wind. Her eyelids fluttered slightly, then inched open, revealing dark eyes, with irises and pupils so large, they left no whites visible.

OOC: The sneks are coming!

The single word cut through the have of haze of pain that surrounded her like a knife. It tore her senses into a state of alertness as if her head had been dunked into ice cold water.
Dae was beside Taurus in a moment, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder, gray eyes scrutinizing her. Taurus was still pale but Dae didn’t think that she would faint again. With her mind eased Dae moved away, giving her some breathing space.

Dae studied Taurus, wondering what had made her mind slip into unconsciousness, it obviously hadn’t been the fall. Than again, there was no way of knowing it for certain but Dae felt sure that it hadn’t been any physical injury. Perhaps being stripped of all powers had been too much of a shock for her mortal brain to process. Dae had felt it too. It hat hit her like a physical blow. It was still hard to grasp, the fact that thousands of years of god like powers were gone, and would be if she didn’t do something about it. Coming to terms with such realization is hard. The more you have the harder it is to let go.

Tarus would probably want some sort of explanation to what was going on but Dae settled back against the wall, resuming her shift and leaving Virgo to fill Taurus in on the last few hours, Dae wasn’t much of a talker anyway.


There was little time, not enough time for a full shift by far. She hoped that Virgo and Taurus could give her a day. She only needed wings to fly, but feathers required a delicate precision that Dae usually had no patience or need for. But she wasn’t a Zodiac anymore so wings it would have to be.

She let her body sink back into the shift, envisioning the path her bones would have to take, picturing new muscles rapping around her bones, the tissue, the nerves and than finally layers of skin, each thin as paper.
Only part of her mind was still aware of her surroundings and she kept it at edge. Ears straining to hear the footfalls of any approaching presence, eyes well trained on the opening of the alley, flickering every so often to the rooftops. She had no doubt that Ophiuchus’s creatures would be here soon. Noon was approaching and than it wouldn’t be long until night fell. They liked the darkness. Dae had liked it too once, her powers had always been the strongest in the light of the other constellations.
She hoped they would come soon. Now she could still fight but in the last stages of the shift she would have to rely on her companions to keep them at bay. It was an unsettling though.
