The Third Lioden Hybrid - The JaglionWhat is a Jaglion? A jaglion is the unlikely offspring produced from a male jaguar and a lioness. While seemingly bizarre and outlandish to many, jaglions are actually among one of the more recent hybrids to be successfully produced. Although they are bred less often (thankfully) than ligers and liligers, there are two jaglions, Tsunami and Jazhara, who were born at Bear Creek Sanctuary in 2006. The two are still alive to this day, although their parents have since been separated to prevent more accidental jaglions. The two creatures seem to be healthy, and sport a very unique appearance in comparison to leopons. http://www.bearcreeksanctuary.com/jaglions.htm - PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THESE PEOPLE DO NOT GENUINELY CARE FOR THESE ANIMALS, AND ARE NOT A TRUE SANCTUARY. DO NOT PLAN VISITS TO THEM SIMPLY BECAUSE I'M USING THEM AS AN EXAMPLE OF JAGLIONS.*** https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopon How would they occur in Lioden? A good, valid question! After all, jaguars live in South America, not Africa. However, you know what other impossible hybrid is coming to Lioden in 2018? The tigon. UPDATE! A jaguar encounter was added in the December of 2017! This male jaguar is in search of a lioness to protect him. Maybe that lioness will do a little more than just protect him... Fun Jaglion Facts! 1. Male jaglions don't have a mane. At most, they have a little bit more fluff on their chests. *** More Info on Bear Creek Bear Creek allows visitors to handle cubs, which is both stressful and unhealthy for the cubs. These cubs are taken away from their mothers before they are weaned to be bottle-fed by visitors and staff while they are still "cute". Once these cubs grow up, they are often left in awful conditions. Along with that, their production of the Jaglions shows how careless they are towards conserving wildlife. Hybrids serve no conservation purposes. Cub handling is cruel. Do not support Bear Creek, and please, don't take this suggestion as me advocating for them. |

I appreciate the support, but to play the Devil's Advocate on my own post, the black panthers of Lioden are melanistic leopards! Panther refers mostly to melanistic jaguars or leopards, which is why the panther of Lioden is called, well, a panther. However.... How do we know for sure that the beautiful mysterious panther in the jungles isn't an escapee Jaguar? ;) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Vive la Jaglion! I'm still keeping a close eye on this thread, and soon, I might do some mock-ups for the Jaglion markings, base, and other things! I plan to rework this whole thread to make it more aesthetically pleasing and to breathe new life into this. Let's keep trying to get these beautiful hybrids added, yeah? ;) 0 players like this post! Ohhh, looking at the Bear Creek Sanctuary photos, I love the idea of Jaglions being in the game!! The unlikeliness of it as an argument is a bit moot IMO because as you said, Tigons are coming and they're definitely also... highly unlikely. From the photos I also think I'd like their appearance more than I do Leopons. I see no other reasons to not support, personal opinions and preferences aside. More hybrids are coming either way and while other things should be prioritized over it, there's no issue with suggestions on what hybrids to add (same with mutations in general), so, support! What a cool idea. The real Jaglions are so gorgeous, wow. Esp. Jazhara.J 0 players like this post! Like? |

Why not just make new markings? I looked at pictures of jaglions and they just look like slightly smaller lions without manes. The markings are pretty much the only thing that stands out. Sorry if I explained weird, but no support. It just seems pointless when it's pretty much just a marking. I feel the same with tigons as well. 0 players like this post! Like? I feel the same with those as well, however they're still being put into the game. I disagree with leopons though, they have a different built body. Tigons however seem to be just lions with stripes. 0 players like this post! Like? |
