Blowing out another puff of smoke Elijah turned his brown-eyed-gaze to the sky for a few moments. It was a clear blue day, with little to no clouds in the sky. A small bird fluttered into view, Eli had to stop himself from smiling, he did enjoy the sights of nature, but was never going to let it show. After a few seconds he slowly returned his gaze back to the girl who seemed to be staring at his cigarette.
“Why do you smoke exactly?” she asked, quickly shutting her mouth after the words came out. Eli rose a brow slightly at her question and looked at the cigarette himself. There were a few reasons as to why he smoked, like the fact that his farther would always be smoking when he was around, it seemed to be considered ‘cool’ and that it was a stress reliever for him. “Dunno, cause I wanna…I guess.” He shrugged returning his gaze back to the red-headed girl.
“I’m sorry. I tend to get a bit curious at times.” She said looking away. Eli forced a laugh, “Ha…” He watched as she waved at someone, possibly a friend. He looked over to where she was looking, and frowned for a second or two when he saw a white haired boy, who he knew was Oliver, who seemed to be gazing up at the sky.

Eli watched the while haired boy for a few more seconds, he seemed to have noticed them and waved back at the girl with a smile. Elijah rolled his eyes and slowly placed his cigarette in his mouth before looking away. It was not that Eli hated him or anything, it was just how he ‘greeted’ everyone. Looking back towards the girl he rose a brow when she smiled at him and rose it even higher when she reached down and grabbed his wrist.
“C’mon, let’s go say hi.” She said more or less dragging Eli over with her. “Uh!?” He stumbled after her.

Elijah ran a hand though his thick, messy, ebony locks and looked to the white-haired boy expressionlessly. Slowly he removed his cigarette from his mouth and dropped it on the ground, only to stamp it out under the heal of his stone-grey canvas shoes. “Elijah…But most call me Eli.” He said finally allowing a smile form on his face.

The rumble of the grey Jeep filled the parking lot as Venice and Rebekka pulled into it. It was the first day back, and while they were a little late, they both didn't seem to mind.

Rebekka slammed the driver's door shut as she got her navy-blue rope-strapped bookbag around her shoulders. Luckly, her first hour was a research hour with the journalist teacher, so being a bit late wasn't that big of an issue. She didn't notice too many people outside the building, so she rushed inside, her sandals flipping up and down. She figured that Sophie had already got everyone worked up for her annual back-to-school party anyways, so anything in the means of well-rounded conversation wasn't going to happen. She was hoping to be invited though, to be honest. They were always such fun, even if Venice didn't think so. She got to class, grabbed a laptop, greeted her teacher Mr. Collins, and got to work with her independent study, as she knew how his classes worked from years of having him.

He had been accepted into a STEM-focused academy back where her parents lived last summer, and it was his first day there. He had sent a photo of the state-of-the-art science lab, with the quote "Feeling like a mad scientist here. Think you can top that?"

She had to giggle at the 7th graders antics, but sneakily took a picture of the summery view outside, making sure to get a palm tree in view, and texted back "And I feel like I'm in Paradise. Mr. Collins loudly cleared his throat, to get Rebekka's attention "Ms. Balarose, I understand it's your first day back, but time to get off your technology cloud and study journalism. You already got away with getting in late, don't push it. Plus, how'd I'd hate to write up my favorite student." he said, his beach-waves flowing in the wind produced by a rotating fan. He didn't look much like a teacher, with his long hair and under shaved face, but he loved all of his students, especially Rebekka.

It was the first day back, so she knew that most of the day was going to be syllabus's and "get to know each other" day, so she figured she might as well try to listen for any new names.
