I'm a Descriptive Roleplayer: It's when you write your character[s] actions, dialogue, and even thoughts as if they were being placed in a Novel or Short-Story. There is proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. [Minor spelling mistakes are accepted.] I have been on many websites and am sad to say there aren't many nowadays who do this style of Roleplaying. They do what is known as Scriptive: Where Asteriks [*-*] are used to frame the actions and sometimes the thoughts even. People who do this are either new or one-liners, sometimes illiterate even. So, after explaining the differences, are there any Descriptive Roleplayers on this website? Character SheetsView and Post Character Sheets0 players like this post! Like? |

I haven't been able to find anyone to roleplay with for this very reason! i like to do at least a detailed paragraph when I'm roleplaying, and I always check for grammar mistakes. 0 players like this post! Like? |

TmT It has been killing me for some time now, my spirit had been crushed so badly whenever I try to Rooeplay and the other uses only Asteriks and doesn't pay mind to their mistakes. And I typically do 8 sentences to 15 plus sentences per response, depending on the Roleplay and mindset that given day. What kind do you do? 0 players like this post! Like? |

I feel you, man. I hardly ever roleplay anymore because of stuff like that, but at the same time, I desperately want to roleplay :/ I did a 1x1 Undertale roleplay once with 4-5 big paragraphs per response. It was awesome, but the other person drifted away from it and never came back. It was a descriptive roleplayer's heaven, though- character building galore. I hope to eventually do something like that again, someday. What do you mean by "what kind?" 0 players like this post! Like? |

Tell me about it! It gets so annoying and often times boring. Haha, I have at least 3, 3 going on 4 year long, Roleplays going on in other websites that are slowly becoming stagnent the longer they tred on. This one person hasn't responded to me in over 3 months and my patience is starting to wander, I love our Roleplay and couples that formed while doing so but, it is fading fast. That sucks though, I would never do that to someone, I would say whether or not I wanted to continue on. Genre and prefered O/S [Primarily for Romance]? 0 players like this post! Like? |

I dislike the scriptive RPers. It's rare to find literate or descriptive here. I found maybe three people, but they keep dropping off the face of the earth for me. And I can and will ignore people that use scriptive format, and what is worse is if they do stuff like Person: *Walks to person B* Person B: Hi! *hugs person A* I hate that... But it's also hard because I'm so darn picky, and there are only certain RPs that I like doing. I'm still at odds with one person that just stopped RPing with me because of BS excuses, when she was clearly on school break for summer but said 'I have school work' Um... not during summer break you don't. I'm an intelligent person, I don't like people that think I don't understand how things work or how to RP. I've been RPing since 1999. 0 players like this post! Like? |

3 years?! Wow, l can hardly imagine holding a roleplay for that long! Not to mention holding my patience for 3 months... Well, I prefer modern or medieval fantasy. If you mean orientation/sexuality then I generally prefer gay/lesbian relationships because I find them more interesting- the more "spicy" stuff still isn't my thing, though. I should also mention that I have a soft spot for anthropomorphic animals, I think it adds aesthetic potential and makes the modern stuff feel more interesting and less mundane. "Wild animal" type RPs are pretty cool too, but I've never had experience with them in a descriptive setting. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah, three years. XD I've become rather good friends with a few of them while doing so. We chat and Roleplay at the same time or chat while coming up with new and obsurd things to put our characters/couples through. Woohoo! Fellow LGBTQIA Roleplayer! Ugh, trying to find others is much harder than finding Descriptive in my opinion, people are just too afraid. It saddens me way more. Really? I can do all levels, it's not that hard and gives a wider spectrum to do things while Roleplaying. It's rare on many websites nowadays, I found maybe 1 person here recently who has an open enough mind to do a Descriptive Roleplay with me, which I am so thankful for. Tell me about it! Leave Scriptive for Plays, not Roleplaying. It's a huge Pet-Peeve of mine. [I only ever use Scriptive Outside of my Character, from Roleplayer to Roleplayer.] As am I, like my favored Roleplays are Scifi-Fantasy or Omegaverse Genres. Well, that person could have been in AP or IB classes, those typically give out schoolwork during summer breaks [and a lot of it] but, I cannot say since I don't know the person myself. Haha, I was born in 99. I have less than 1 more month before I'm legally an adult. [O.O I don't want to be an adult just yet.] 0 players like this post! Like? I've been a descriptive role player for over 11+ years off and on. I say off and on simply because I wasn't actively role playing the entire time, and there were months of time off in-between. My replies are typically between 3-6 paragraphs long on a good day, and depends on the reply I've been given. I have drifted away from role playing again though, and have recently left my role play boards because it no longer appeals to me, or my plotting buddies have drifted away. It's getting harder and harder out there in the role play world. 0 players like this post! Like? |

We could do a group RP, if you guys are interested. We'll have to decide on a setting and stuff, though. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I have the same problem, most roleplayers I come across use 'text-talk', have deplorable grammer/punctuation or can't write for sh*t. I make my responses/role plays as if they're a part from a story (in case I decided to make that roleplay a story) 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/01/17 @ 14:04:28 by Brighty (#22310) |

Wow, that's a real long time to be roleplaying but, I do feel you. It does get boring after a while and can lose that spark. However, it has been a good stress reliever and time consumer [when needed] on certain days. We could if everyone is having a good day, I know a good plot to maybe try out? I cannot tell you how many times I have wanted to turn my Roleplays into a good story. They just give you so much inspiration at time. 0 players like this post! Like? |

They do, however I'm less inclined to turn it into a story when some people's responses in a roleplay are "wut u want, she asked fliping her hair n dazzling every one bc she sexy" It makes me go: You have an education yes? Then bl**dy write like it you lazy rat. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Haha, yes, that does indeed destroy the initial desire to make a Roleplay into a good story. I have actually had so much inspiration from this one Roleplay I had been doing for the past 3 years but, when it comes to writing it, a brick wall comes into play. I would love to see what you all can do, though. 0 players like this post! Like? |
