 What are Caudatis?Caudatis are a species that are similar in looks to foxes. They, however, have two tails instead of one, larger eyes and ears and are bigger than usual fox. Their colours are usually orange, brown, grey, white and black and they come with various markings. Their eyes have no pupils. Caudatis are very rare and only recently they have been found. Until now, everyone thought they are just a myth. Caudatis are usually very calm and easy to tame, but some are fierce and very aggresive. They are good with other animals and humans and seem to be intelligent. They are also mostly tricksters and like to fool everyone around. They are like a link between foxes and kitsunes, and some seem to have magical powers. It is not confirmed though. Even being easy to tame, caudatis are not very keen to breed in captivity. Thus further research is needed. Sometimes, a rare colour caudatis is found. There are no informations of how they get bright colour or vibrant markings,or sometimes even markings of other animals - like frogs or okapis. They just... happen to have those. A new base has came! Every new Cauda will be made on the new one :) DECORATIONS arrived! Some new caudatis will have randomly added small decors. A decor shop will be open soon for all the caudatis already purchased! Captured caudatisWe have some caudatis that we captured! They do not seem to feel good surrounded by all our research stuff... Also, by buying them, you would help us to understand this species better! Minimum increase is not set and please, do not make me change my mind on that. Genetics will have use mostly in breedings! I'm just wondering how this is a closed species? Since I'm pretty sure you can't call a fox with two tails a closed or original species ^^;; They make great adoptables or breedables though! 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Takoyaki Hey! I really understand what you mean. Actually, I never was a fan of "unoriginal" closed species before too. Unfortunally I made similar thread on another site some time ago and someone had a really big problem with accepting double tailed foxes as either foxes or kitsune with their own lore (it was at the time when my art was also waaaay worse). To avoid this type of situation here, I just decided to make them a closed species, so noone can now tell me I am not allowed to give a fox deer horns or that kitsune should have more than two tails :) From what I've heard from that person, I am also for some reason not allowed to breed the ones I made, and I wanted to be able to breed them :) Also, actually, you can! I've seen people that made wolves with double jaw or just typical foxes with wings and called it a closed species. The problem starts if that person who creates the species will have problems if anyone "steals" their design. Of course, when something is this common, there is no reason you should be angry or accuse someone for stealing, many people will come with similar idea. Also, the caudatis here are a little bit more "free to do whatever" than some of the other species I've seen. I am aware some people bought it just as a fox or kitsune design and I am totally okay with that. I have no problem with using the same design on another species - as long as you were the person who bought said design, of course. As for closed species itself, there are no strict rules. They just have to be in some way different than the existing species. As is written in caudatis lore, they have two tails, more fennec-like ears, larger eyes and are a little bigger than usual foxes. They are intelligent, but not sentient species and are the link in evolution between typical fox and kitsune, thus the magic abilities. Two new caudatis have been added! I'll update the thread probably tommorow or the day after tommorow. Another two or more caudatis will be added in two or three days.
