Are you more into mane shapes? Then the Mane Genetics Thread is here for you Want to check out a particular combo quickly? Use ctrl + f and type its name, or use the "search on site" option if you are using a cellphone :)Wiki entry about Combo Bases This began as a way to share theories about possible combinations, but then things got way bigger than expected. A lot of people have invested a lot of currency in the scrying stone to see if we were right about combos, and here is the result :D But wait... What are combo bases? When you breed two lions with the right combination of bases, their cubs roll a further, extra chance that can result in a third, new base, a "combo" base. Each combo base has its own requirements, and these bases often ignore the set genetic rules: for example, the Cairngorm combo base (Black Light Solid Special genetics) can be obtained by breeding a Celestial lion (Black Dark Countershaded Special genetics) and a Cocoa lioness (Black Medium Countershaded Rare genetics). Most combo bases can be passed down as long as one parent has it and further requirements are met if there are any, with the exception of Pulsar and Temporal. *Since the 12th October update, cubs that have triggered the original combo bases - Cairngorm, Citrine, Madagascar or Qahir - have a 50% chance of getting their respective mane color, and these can be inherited like any other mane color! Right now there are two different types of combo bases: "standard" combos and "factor" combos. Factor ones can be obtined by breeding any of the bases that make up the combo, but standard ones can be obtained by more than one combination of bases that are assembled into two different groups. The combo can trigger as long as the parents have bases that belong to a different combo group (not to be mistaken by the genetic color group). *Note: While some of the following standard combo tables have been completed, there may be some combinations that remain undiscovered yet. Standard combos:

With the combos shared by other players, we currently have Hematite, Opal, Glacial and Chartreux in one side, with Russet, Cameo, Hallowed and Buff in the other, then this Qahir cub born from a Glacial x Chartreux breeding. Either someone didn't share the correct bases from a scrying, this is a bug, the system doesn't work as we believed... or someone submited fake information. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Seems to be a bug. Because what I wrote before is confirmed by living cubs and cameo x hematite is confirmed by scrying stone and they're supposedly in different groups. Also it's weird getting cream out of black x black, maybe it's a mistake? 0 players like this post! Like? |

I'll ask an admin and hope for the best, I guess. The worst we can get is a "we cannot say". 0 players like this post! Like? |

I was the one that scried Chartreux to Cameo (dad), finding the last base for Qahir. I also provided the screen shot of the scry, with the IDs (mom's didn't show the whole number, though). 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think what we're debating is that Chartruex and Cameo might need to swap groups. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Ooooh, I see it now. We only had Chartreux x Cameo before, but I placed the bases in one group or the other following the reasoning that, if base a x base b = Qahir, then base a must be in one group, and base b in the other. Cameo produces Qahir coupled with Hematite, and Hematite does so with Buff and Hallowed, too. Following that, Hematite and Cameo must be in the complimentary groups, with Cameo, Buff and Hallowed in one side, so Cameo can't be swaped with Chartreux. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Which does not answer Glacial x Chartruex producing a Qahir, which is what brought up the swap in the first place. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Personally, I'm more inclined to believe the cubs actually born are correct and the scrying tool may not properly know what to do with group A and group B combo bases. This cub says Nacre is a part of Madagascar: https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?id=794113596906 0 players like this post! Like? |

Wouldn't that be possible to test by scrying 2 of the bases in the same group for Cairngorm together and see if you can get a Cairngorm cub? 0 players like this post! Like? |

The cub Lunar Lords just linked is Unholy x Nacre, which puts Nacre into the group with the missing base, and hopefully solving Madagascar. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Beata That's nice, but Cairngorm combo bases were disclosed in the newspost already. 0 players like this post! Like? |
