I actually had a brief light-bulb moment at seeing those, specially the first two, because they resemble Heavenly a lot. I now have the urge to look at more of those and ask someone to make a mockup celestial base based on them

But really, looking at them, the new Celestial bases make more sense to me

So... what if they expanded the storyline and introduced a counterpart to Celestial bases, inspired in the brighter things from Space? A sun instead of little star speckles, the trail of a comet, nebulae, colorful gases... We still need an explanation to why Apedemak's land is crumbling and he needs the wisps to hold it together :o

No support for the chaos it would cause. I'd say just cease adding to the black color group over the next few months and introduce more to the other groups, ruffles less feathers.

I understand that, but it can be repaired quicker than the damage was done if the admins plan it right, and I just see a large number of people being unhappy with their projects being upheaved. Absolutely agree with you on how unevenly the bases are distributed though even if I am one of the ones who constantly wants more black bases, I'm conscious of it being a bad idea xD

Personaly I like most of them, but there are people who say there are a lot in there that differ form each other in a ligher/darker shade I don't see what's the wrong in that, all the groups have some bases that are more or less the same.

There are people who like most of them, but the majority of people tend to dislike them for their similarity. I personally think they're all just kinda drab colors and should be tweaked to be a bit less meh, I don't otherwise see anything wrong with using the same hues.

I disagree with that. The common wild bases may be a bit "drab" - there is only so much you can do with the cream shades, after all - but what about Teardrop, the Butter bases, Ivory, Buff, Amber, Qahir, Hallowed, Russet, Nacre, Cameo, Supernal? They are all different, an really colorful in comparison to the others. And that's only Cream :')

Fair point, I guess I just don't like the tones personally. I do really love basically all of the cream light countershaded grouping, but the ones like Beige and Caramel and the sort of yellowed or greened out tones just bug me. Just a personal color preference of someone who's hella picky with colors xD

Countershaded is just better, I generally dislike solid bases xD I like having something to start off with, so even low-marking lion/esses have some depth. The dark blacks even I don't entirely appreciate being so monochrome, especially the block solid Onyx, Obsidian is a bit more variable with the bluish tints through it and I loooove it for that.

You know what might be helpful? Making a commitment to releasing an event base from EACH of the four color groups every year.

I know we've become accustomed to, for example, the Celestial event based only existing in the Black group, but the beautiful upcomers don't all fit in Black. Furthermore, I'm sure the talented artists here, especially Xy, need the ability to create unfettered by rigid quotas. However, there's no denying the other groups need and deserve some serious love!

What I'm humbly suggesting is if, for instance, we are given a Red base for the Aphrodisia event, how about another Cream for the Anti-Poaching event and/or a Golden for Easter and so forth? I think it's only be fair to focus on the color groups that have been neglected until they're equal, too. I'm not asking for a hard-and-fast rule to be enforced, just a light reminder to keep everyone's prides vibrant and fun.

I wanted to add my two cents' worth on this topic because the discrepancy is important to get ironed out and I hope it happens sooner than later. I'm glad that Berenos created this thread so we can talk about it!
