So... I noticed February has no storyline, which surprises me because it's the "month of love", meaning many stories are just starting! As writing is one of my hobbies, I decided to make a storyline for February. Meet the Love Queens! I call them Upenda (variation of "love" in Swahili) and Moyo ("heartbeat" or "heartthrob" in Swahili). They are travelling half-sisters from a faraway pride! Upenda is the younger of the half-sisters. Her mother is a huntress in their home pride, which makes her a huntress as well. She's cheerful and upbeat, and is desperate for a man to call her own. She'll do anything in her power to find a soulmate, even if that means having multiple lovers at once. Upenda is flirty and a bit of an airhead, and she's mild-mannered as well. Moyo is the older half-sister. Her mother is the Queen of their home pride, and since their shared father is the King, Moyo is a princess - something she doesn't let anyone forget. Moyo has a hot-headed temper and often demeans her sister for dominance purposes (like Vash and V'kai in May). Moyo's mother always told her that the best males are more interested in lionesses who are stubborn and hard to get, and only foolish boys would go for easier "prey" who will flirt with any lion who gives them attention. The queen convinced Moyo that this was true because if it wasn't true, the King wouldn't have married her but a lioness like Upenda's mother instead. Because of this, Moyo often tells Upenda that she's nothing more than a flashy target, and that Moyo is the one all of Upenda's boyfriends are truly after. The storyline would be split into settling with Upenda or chasing after Moyo! Who will you choose? Siding with Upenda will give you Flirt Points and siding with Moyo will give you Slap Points... cause you'll be smacked a couple times. You could also be neutral and flirt with both. At the end of February, you could claim Upenda, Moyo, or both, the same way you could claim Wenet at the end of April. Your choices in the storyline could make them easier or harder to claim, though, so be careful! Upenda's storyline would be helping her with Moyo's savage attitude and helping them to get along, while trying to get Upenda to break off all her relationships and fall in love with you. She will have three relationships with other males (who you'd have to fight), and if you defeat them all AND convince Moyo to leave Upenda alone, Upenda will be easier to claim at the end of February! Moyo's storyline would be navigating through all her gossiping and royal drama as well as helping her with Upenda's "attention issues". Moyo will be a P.I.T.A, to say the least, but the more you woo her, the easier she'll be to claim at the end of February - and she's a tough cookie, so you'll need all the help you can get! Here are my current designs for them: Upenda would be a Romantic (Good) lioness, and you would claim her using a normal routine for a Good lioness. She would not keep her pose, but would have her own unique background that she would keep (called Upanda's Hideout or something). Moyo would be a Sassy (Snarky) lioness, so you would claim her using a normal routine for a Snarky lioness, but you are more likely to get smacked if you went down Upenda's route or stayed neutral. If you wanted a better chance of claiming her, you'd go down her route. She would not keep her pose, but would have her own unique background that she would keep (called Moyo's Domain or something). If you don't support, please state why so I can put your suggestions down below! Thank you for taking your time to read! NOTE TO STAFF: I'd be willing to write the story in full, and also I will send all LD artists the wardrobe links to the girls so they can be drawn! Thank you! Suggestions: THIS ENTIRE SUGGESTIONS POST IS AMAZING This one makes so much sense!!! DESIGN TWEAKS - cherry/ardor base, lose the piebald, harsher tones for Moyo/softer tones for Upenda, STORY TWEAKS - both lionesses function like the maneater studs, independent women supremacy Explore ideas! OMG! you aren't the love interest, you're the WINGMAN! |

Completely agree Styx! Or possibly, you would get to breed with the lioness once, not keeping them in your pride, no breeding items, and three days later you would get ONE cub. This allows you to still have a mutie chance, but very very slim. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah, I agree with huge nerfs, since there’d be an uncountable amount of people(and their side accounts) breeding them. I think they should make the lionesses leave as soon as her cubs are born, and require you to assign another lioness in your pride to care for them. Maybe an extra requirement would be that lioness has to have a failed breeding previously, CRB or no nest-whatever reason-induced, so she has the incentive to care for the cubs. If not, they die, and once they are weaned they have a higher than normal chance to get into cub accidents and lower their cub health bar. Just a few extra barricades to prevent too many cubs. And as Decequeen mentioned, no jellyfish can be used to the lionesses, and I think in addition should also apply to first gen special lioness cubs, as people might get lucky and roll very close base and marking scheme as their mothers. First gen cubs, however, with the exception of freezing, function as normal. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Agreed! I think that the system could work similarly to the maneater studs - you cannot keep them in your pride at all. One breeding, and you have to pay. I think it should work similarly to this: - The lioness you worked towards, at the end of the month, will have her own page listing her marks, base, etc. much like the Maneater Studs have their page. - Pay to breed. Pay, what, maybe 1GB? One cub is born after three days, and then needs a foster mother. (With this, it should be allowed to be able to freeze the cub. It's a low mutation pass rate anyway. If necessary, the ladies' mutation and rosette pass rates could be lowered.) ^ No breeding items allowed. No studs. The lioness is never in your den. Then again, if this is too confusing or too hard to code, the rosette could be removed or swapped for a similar or new marking set. I do think that they should keep their mutations: it adds crucial design to their characters. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think studding should be free/cheap unlike the Maneater studs. They were introducing brand new mane types then, so it makes sense, but 1 GB would be quite expensive, as some people would also like to breed on their side account. Some players might be newer or the like, or wouldn’t like to spend their GB, since I don’t think event exclusives have had to be paid with GB before(not to mention the insane inflatation during that period). Maybe around 100-500SB? Another thing to note is that these lionesses are unlike Wenet. While they function nearly the same, it’s worth remembering Wenet is more of a plain jane, without a lot of rare markings. Maybe the event shop could include a boost, like in the May event(increased chance of a male groupie) or obtainable from doing quests that can increase pass chance of x marking or x attribute by x percent. 0 players like this post! this is cool! maybe some of the daily quests they send you on can interact with a certain feb. encounter or bring them certain items like feathers or colorful shiny stones that vary depending on the sisters personality/wants? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Ah i support the idea of a February event plot but i have a few issues with the storyline in general. I'm sure some people will disagree but I do wish there was a tiny bit less sexism in the story plots of lioden. I know, I know, they're "lions". But, they think, act, and talk like people, so keeping the matriarchal, heteronormative story plots kind of just makes me uncomfortable. Im not suggesting they dye their fur rainbow and have a harem of feminism activists, but there could be some subtle changes that would make me more inclined to support this idea, such as the following: "She's cheerful and upbeat, and is desperate for a man to call her own" turns into "She's cheerful and upbeat, and is desperate for a lover to call her own." "Moyo's mother always told her that the best males are more interested in lionesses who are stubborn and hard to get, and only foolish boys would go for easier "prey" who will flirt with any lion who gives them attention." turns into "Moyo's mother always told her that the best partners are more interested in lions who are stubborn and hard to get, and only foolish flirts would go for easier "prey" who will pursue any lion who gives them attention." I would like to say, though, that i love that this plot circulates around two female lionesses, essentially removed from male influence (besides, perhaps, the player). Every single lioness in the lioden plots is objectified by a male counterpart except perhaps Wenet, although she is "claimed" by the entirety of lioden. Obviously, since this is a February event, the fact that romance is involved is simply due to the nature of the event, so i don't find that bothersome in the least. Separate from the rest of what i said, it might also be nice if, by the end, your character has the option to choose to befriend both lionesses platonically rather than have them reject your romances. Claiming would still be an option, but it could have a text such as "You decide to pursue Upenda/Moyo" and then the next part, whether you successfully claim or not, would be "Moyo doesn't look very thrilled to be leaving, but her duty calls, and her pride takes priority. What a bummer, you really liked her." or "You thought you and Upenda made a real connection, but she looks like she's getting ready to leave. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted." or "You and Upenda/Moyo gave it a shot, but in the end, the three of you valued your friendship more than a short fling. They're leaving, but you're happy to have made two lifelong friendships." edit;; oop, came here from a link on another thread and didn't realize how old this was, my bad! i'll leave this up just in case :) 0 players like this post! //dont sweat about how old it is bc i’m still bumping it ///also forgive the short reply i’m on mobile i love all your ideas!! also thats a good point to make about the flavor texts bc some people do play as lionesses. i tried to make the main npcs in this plot dynamic more independent, a princess and a huntress, because we don’t see enough independent lionesses. of course there is wenet, but her “plans” couldn’t go through without the player so i wouldn’t consider her to be independent. another example is menhit, her story relies heavily on her partner and her father, so she’s like in their shadow. i wanted for moyo and upenda to be their own characters who aren’t influenced by the player or “other males” in a way. if that makes sense lmao 0 players like this post! yes, i love that a lot! i was thinking of menhit actually, and tefnut, as a matter of fact. it seems like most of the time, the male lions (outside of feb) can be introduced in any way from "a big, strong, scary lion comes over and puffs up his mane" or "a playful young adolescent scurries over with excited eyes and asks if you wanna practice fighting!", while the females are pretty consistently "a gentle, pretty lioness looks at u with big eyes and goes uwu im in love" LOL. it would be nice to see a change for once, especially in february! 0 players like this post! Another interesting suggestion for a February story. The two should also appear in explore encounters. Moyo could have a few quests having your lion prove his/her strength, like beating a certain amount of NPCs in a certain amount of time, just to see how good your king/queen really is, or gaining some stats. You could also encounter some of Upenda's rivals. It'd be funny if there was another prideful lion NPC (a girlfriend or boyfriend) who also hung around her much to the annoyance of your king/queen and you have a 'chat' with the NPC about their relationship with Upenda. You should also be able to meet the family at least for an explore encounter...seeing a traveling band of lions hunting. Their mother Queen Njeri (Swahili for warrior) could show up and challenge your lion too. You could have flavor text talking about hunting with her if you choose to do so, and a small reward from it. The explore for this event could tie into the event, and +HS for choices and encounters. You should also have awkward/frivolous/happy thoughts add points, though I'm not sure for what. And earn a title from choosing Moyo or Upenda. SUPPORT. 0 players like this post! Like? |
