17th October, 2019: I am leaving these existing links up, however I am going to start working through some results in this thread (more recent to be honest, because a lot of lions are repped or dead now) and compiling them all into one spreadsheet and then categorized spreadsheets after that. Please keep posting results in the meantime :D <3 Attempts to crack the code for either of the new rosette markings. Feel free to collaborate and offer suggestions/scrying results :D CONFIRMED BREEDINGS FROM SCRYING Spreadsheet HERE marking comparison spreadsheet here *unfinished opacity comparison SPREADSHEET *unfinished 1 player likes this post! Damn, would have loved to have got my hands on that boy of yours, Lithium ;) That'll teach me for sleeping xD! LOL. Congratulations everyone on the new rosettes and successful scry results. Sorry I've not had much input the last day or two; I'll try and get the spreadsheets updated tonight, at least. I've had to catch up on a few commissions, and still have a couple left, before I can invest more time back into the rosette-theory, however. But yay everyone <3 Doing great ^__^ 0 players like this post! Like? |

It's all good CALA! :) A third data point between king 4297 and lady 794114906422 - Slot 3: Shell Feline Unders (40%) Slot 5: Nacre Lace (51%) Slot 7: Cloudburst Shroud (67%) Slot 8: Feline 5 Onyx (43%) Slot 10: Vitiligo 6 (57%) Slot 4: Ebony Heavy Rosette (98%) https://i.imgur.com/XwkFIpe.png (I actually would have had another but accidentally skipped past it - and she popped an inverted silky at one point too.) I did not expect this one to pop so high based on the opacity theory. The previous ones have been around 40-50%. o_O I'm leaning toward Lace being counted as a triggering factor in these, though - well, one of them. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Very interesting, quite a distance in opacity results. That might confirm my theory that there is more than one triggering factor (ie, more than one combination) - as with the second result from that combination (the successfully scryed rosette was in slot 13, making it a spontaneous mark - not a shared slot with either parent). I am thinking that perhaps there is a "parent" marking that allows for the passing of the marking spontaneously, and perhaps the odds are heightened when it is paired with a certain marking or markings. I think continuing to scry the same pair would be helpful in trying to pinpoint which markings likely play a role. If it is passing as an individual mark, then there is only one marking possibility on the lionesses behalf that would allow for a 98% marked cub in slot 4 - and that would be the feline 6. If I have time, I'll do a few tests on White Inverted Brindle paired with F6 Onyx with a similar opacity range and see how it seems to pass, and which marking is most dominant. Thanks for all the hard work :D :D Giving us some good places to turn to and investigate. 0 players like this post! Like? |

That's along what I was wondering, CALA! My thought was that his previous, lower opacity results were his Feline triggering with one of her 'under' types, but in this case, perhaps HER feline triggered with one of HIS under types. That may even be a rare result considering that king markings have a stronger chance of passing. I'm going to continue to scry this pair, with a goal of one or two rosette scries per day as data. I think we're edging closer to a workable theory. :D Note - I'm actually curious about how my side's king turned out a rosette, too. On our current theories, she has lace and feline unders - but the only 'feline' marking he has is cheetah (heavy and soft). And while it doesn't seem to make sense, Dark Brown -would- be a possible coloration based on base genetics and the colors of their markings since Dark Brown is a common black base color. One pairing at a time though! 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Lithium I'm sorry to poke in here so suddenly, but it was stated in another thread by a moderator that male and female markings have equal chances of passing in normal circumstances. The thing that male markings have higher chances of passing is a myth. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Lithium; I strongly suspect the triggering factor in Mengde was either one of or a combination of either; Onyx Points, one of the Under White markings - and with an even slimmer chance - the White Inverted Cheetah. I've also been leaning quite heavily toward the base actually having some kind of correlation with the rosette colours and/or how they pass. I'm still skeptical of the idea myself, to be honest, but based on every result I've encountered thus far - each and every scry and/or cub is a result of a red or black based parent. In saying that, however, they are the most common bases in-game and have a higher volume of breedings in comparison to other base types, so that could be an explanation for that, at least. As far as opacity works, I've never calculated a difference in pass rates between parents - but I've never really looked. I did hear talk about the king pass rates a fair while back, but I think I do recall someone mentioning it held no bearing on who had the marking. All I know for certain is that a higher opacity will produce a higher opacity, which was confirmed to me in chat by Abbey - which is why I have decided to base most of my theory work with the rosette pass-rates on the opacity itself. Given that the marking tends to jump slots, seemingly randomly, I'm leaning toward the idea that the marking is combining their opacities rather than working as a separate result (which is a pain in the ass for us, having to scry out the equation!) 0 players like this post! @Berenos OH! Heck don't feel bad for jumping in with that - I'm glad to know. @CALA All interesting observations! I think I will try to make my next scry project off red or black bases then - see what I can come up with. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Sorry for the double post - just curious if anyone has been having a problem scrying the new rosettes today? Trying to chalk it up to luck but I've burned over 5k on a known pair tonight only to get a few regular/inverted rosettes at most. Either I've got severely bad RNG suddenly, or the stone stopped throwing them... either way I don't want to risk wasting more money for results tonight. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hmmm.. I haven't tried - but it is the wet season. Perhaps it is a seasonal thing? Or time of day? I've no idea, tbh! I haven't scryed for a day or two - I'm actually about to take a partial step back from LD for a little bit due to personal reasons (ofc I will still be rolling over and evening on occasion, and checking this thread ofc!) 0 players like this post!
