Interesting I've had 2 cubs now pop up a random brown rosette when breeding to an ebony heavy rosette king.

This one had it in hidden slot 11 -dad has ebony heavy in slot 10

This one is from my king-I used gnawrock for his slot 10 ebony heavy rosette, but this little dwarf girl also has a random brown rosette in slot 9.

Not sure what that means, but I haven't had any other brown rosettes lately except these two.

@Cydonia - Dad has several unders, mom has a 'back' type gene. Maybe that's the trigger for softs while heavys require felines? Hmm.

I scried a doubloon soft rosette! It's a little weird because the rosette is in slot three, yet it's at the bottom of the marking list. Odd.

The father, my king, has feline 2 ebony in slot eight and the mother has a brand new white marbled unders in slot nine!

You would be more likely to pass the rosette on an unmarked lioness, as it doesn't have to compete with another mark in the same slot, Kich.

But the cub's Ebony Heavy Rosette was random, neither of the parents had it; it wasn't something that passed on. I just mean whatever markings that triggered it are on the father, as the mother has no markings. Right?

Very interesting. I did wonder if it was a double combination from the father, I mentioned something similar much earlier on. Once I've got funds to dedicate toward this again, I'll do some scry tests; I've not been actively pursuing the rosettes lately as I've had other commitments and not enough funds (kids have birthdays next month, so no GB for me :'c lol); but I'll get back into it soon - that is definitely helpful. Might be time to start scrying unmarked NCLs to certain combinations.
