So, Whitney, the policy on the Stud Registry is that they have to check in with you, and then you'll put them on the list? 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Everyone So we have some valuable items in our hoard now. Just wondering how everyone wants to sell them? The sooner we sell/raffle them off the sooner we can buy our mascot/first sunset lady We can; Raffle them within the clan Raffle them outside the clan Sell them on admin branches 0 players like this post! @FN/everyone I think raffling them publicly, putting them in admin branches, or having them in admin trades will make the most profit. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 13/05/18 @ 09:58:14 by Asher (#123346) |

@Whitney/FN Is it okay if I grab the Shiny Stones from the clan hoard to buy another ticket in that last Sunset raffle I shared? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hey guys! This is a neato idea for a clan :D I just wanted to clear a few things up for you First of all, wanted to confirm that there absolutely cannot be a sunset cub born from two non-sunset parents. If it appears this way, it is because one of the parents had a base change or was stat/mutie/heritage replaced. Second of all, on Lioden, the grandparents don't matter at all! They have zero effect on the genetics on the cubs c: The above is confirmed information from Lioden, below I'm just messing around with probabilities btw ;) Also, Asher, I love that you're using math to figure this stuff out :D I did have a couple corrections "1) Breeding two Red Medium Countershaded Specials will give you approximately a 21% (or about 1/5) chance of getting a Red Medium Countershaded Special cub per litter." You did this right mostly, you just multiply 1 x .7 x 1 x .3 to get the chance of RMCS per cub. Per litter would be different and would depend on the number of cubs! "2) There is a 50% chance of your Red Medium Countershaded Special lioness never giving birth to a Red Medium Countershaded Special cub in her lifetime, even if you breed her only to studs of those same genetics every time she enters heat. (Check this and don't rely on it or quote me. I do not feel confident about it.)" Technically with this you'd need to know the actual chances of the number of cubs per litter, but this handy thread has a bit of data at least :) https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429282366 From this I'm gonna round to make it easer and make it 1 cub = 45% 2 cubs = 40% 3 cubs = 12% 4 cubs = 3% I believe you need to use IBFs to have 8 breedings in a lion's lifetime, but let's assume we do use it. Actually, to make it even simpler, we can assume we use buffy balls and none of the litters are 4 cubs :D it's been a while since I did this kind of math, I would love to spare myself the pain lol. So basically we'll get 24 cubs out of one lioness. We're going to use binomial distribution bc we're really only looking at one kind of success - a red medium countershaded special cub. So chance of success per cub is 21%, chance of failure is 79% This is the formula we have to use: x = number of successes, N = number of trials, π = probability of success per trial so x=0, N=24, π=.21 Now to calculate this you can use a calculator but again I haven't had a math class in... 4 years? So idk where mine is lol - Instead I use an online calculator - http://stattrek.com/online-calculator/binomial.aspx And we get our answer! So what this means is that there is a 0.35% chance that a sunset (or other RMCS) lioness will have zero cubs with RMCS when bred with a buffy ball and with a RMCS stud every time :) You can mess with the numbers to see other possibilities - for example, if you have awful luck and don't use buffy balls and get 1 cub per litter, N would equal 8. After inputting 8 instead of 24, I see that after 8 1-cub litters, the chance of zero RMCS cubs is 15.17%. And if you're mega lucky and get all 4-cub litters, the chance of having no successes goes down to 0.05%! Keep in mind, this isn't the chance of sunset of course! We don't know the actual chance for sunset, so we can't calculate it. You can guess of course and see what the chances are depending on what the percentage might be :) Also I realized we can answer the first thing you said about per litter chances as well just by making the number of trials 1, 2, 3, and 4 - for a 1 cub litter chance is 21%, for a 2 cub litter chance of one RMSC is 33%, for a 3 cub litter chance of one RMSC is 39.32%, for a 4 cub litter chance of one RMSC is 41.42%. And you could probs use weighted probability with the chance of each litter size but again this is getting a little bit more complicated lol Hopefully this is helpful! You can google binomial distribution to learn more but I used this website to help me explain and also for the formula pic - http://onlinestatbook.com/2/probability/binomial.html 0 players like this post! @Asher thanks! Currently trying SO HARD for a mottled rosette Sunset heir to replace Lycitas tho °^°. Have an Inferno base pon pon in wich I've put all my hopes X'D I will miss my Lycitas tho..worked so hard on him and he's at a point where I say I absolutely like the design X'D will be hard to retire him completedly. But I've already worked out another design for a new King IF I manage to archive my ultimate goal of a sunset heir haha X'D Your King is pretty awesome aswell! I like the Bloodbourne base too :3 0 players like this post! Like? |

@asher For sure! Feel free to take them. @Cin My jaw literally dropped!! You are awesome! Looks like we have a great basis for breeding here! @Everyone Just wondering; it looks like my knowledge of genetics is not useful to this particular sect of Lioden. Does anyone feel like they still need a genetics course? I’m rather busy with answering people’s questions etc. and I haven’t found time to work on it yet. I think a thread that ‘compiles’ our findings would be best, instead of a crash course. Thoughts? 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Havoc Wow, damn. I just just thinking earlier about how cool it would be to have a mottled Sunset! Good luck getting one, and make sure you're breeding to Sunset studs! And thank you! I've thought about replacing him with a Sunset for research and aesthetic purposes, but I've put a lot into him and I'm not sure if I'm ready to let him go so soon. ^^' 0 players like this post!
