-LOCKED - JUNE EVENT | |
Posted on 2018-05-31 18:03:51
JUNE EVENT STARTS ON JUNE 1ST 00:00 AM AND ENDS ON JUNE 30TH AT 11:59 PM. All currency is stored on your account and unlocks annually. JUNE EVENT - COMPLETE REHAULWe've been unhappy with the June event for a long while because of its complex and hourly mechanics, and we've noticed you guys didn't enjoy it that much either; thus, we've decided it was time to change things completely and wipe the Flood event in order to start fresh. The Egyptian decors in the Gorilla Enclave have had a lot of interest, so for the past few months, we've been designing a new event inspired by ancient Egypt. The Enclave decors won't be removed for a long while, but we'll consider moving them next year to the June event shops. What happens to the Flood stuff? Dive Beetles, decors, etc.?Don't worry! The Flood Pit will now be a year-round shop available during wet seasons in Crossroads. A small banner will appear above the map, and you will be able to access it in order to exchange your remaining Dive Beetles (which are gone from currency list, but not your account) into Silver Beetles. You can also purchase Flood-themed decors and applicators for SB! The shop will cycle every 12 hours, with items having different rarity tiers - meaning applicators will be more rare than decors. We'll enjoy adding more things there during Friday updates that are focused on new content. We may re-add some old Flood encounters in future to Explore as regular wet season encounters. JUNE EVENT - RISE OF THE SERPENTNow then, let's discuss this fresh, new event! Because it's so new, this year it'll be a little less abundant in encounters and decors than other existing events, as they've had years of content injections. That's okay though - it will be filled up every year as well! We all can enjoy a fresh start for now! What's going on? So, you've probably noticed earthquakes shaking the ground in Explore during the entire May event. An ancient Egyptian rebellious deity, the Serpent of Chaos, has been waking up and is now ready to emerge! Start your storyline, which is located on the EVENT page, and the earthquakes will stop. If you do not wish to start the storyline, the earthquakes will remain for you, as the Serpent will not rise. Please keep in mind that the whole event is inspired by Egypt's ancient culture, and it's Lioden's take on the theme. We will not be diving into historical accuracy, and we will not be explaining the mythology. We'll just use it as inspiration and celebration. Mechanics There is no event bar this month. We're taking a new twist here, and we're focusing fully on the story itself, with you unlocking the progress based on specific dates and options. On the 1st, Chapter 1 is available to you. A few days later, Chapter 2 will let you progress further and enjoy daily quests. On the 20th, Chapter 3 and the story's finale will become available. It will not shut off daily quests. You will be given the option to choose an ancient Egyptian God to align with - but don't worry, it's quite flexible! You will be able to change your alignment dozens of times as you please when Chapter 2 opens up, up until Chapter 3, where your final choice will bind you to the story's reward and close the option to change your alignment. The shops share some of the same decors among them, but some have unique goodies tied to the temple you're located in. Because everything is so unknown right now, we're happy to give you so many options to change your alignment, so that you can switch the shop anytime as the shops are unlocked, just in case you end up liking another deity's decors much more. If you can't be bothered, trading with other players is a great solution! Explore At first, the new explore encounters may be difficult, as you're a lion battling against ancient demons. That's okay though - try using the good ol' Pound move to stun them! As you progress in Chapter 2, you will receive a BATTLE BUDDY! Just like in January when Laharu joined your side, your chosen god's animal form will join you in explore battles - but it will only join when the demons appear. They won't interfere with your normal, natural enemies. All deities will boost your fights with their unique skills and let you reap the rewards from defeating the Chthonic Snakes. The Snakes will drop Khepri Beetles if your battle buddy is present. This new currency will allow you to buy things in the temple shops. The Snakes also drop Chaos Scales, which can appear no matter if your battle buddy is present. You can craft them into Slithering Snake decors, and even the existing Gorilla Enclave's Apophis decor! We may add a new batch of enemies around the 8th to spice things up!!! As the years go, we will add more Chthonic Demons and Snakes to battle with as well. Storyline The storyline is linear. This means there are no multiple endings; HOWEVER, there is a CHOICE. You can pick the god you align with. The benefits are as follows: - Different Battle Buddy skills - Access to unique shop decors - Different lore and art experiences during the story - The final storyline reward is an applicator aligned to the god you have chosen There's also something fun we've added this year in a small few areas to test our skills and take Lioden to a new level. If it ends up being fun for you, we'll be happy to introduce this to existing events in one way or another. If you're struggling with epilepsy or slow internet, you can turn off animated parts in the storyline's settings. Rewards The storyline's rewards are base applicators. They may not be obviously related in art to the proper god, but they have their reasons, along with their genetics. The Seth base is a recolour of the Chatoyant base, made to have a red desert look. The Bast base is a golden base that offers a Sunset-type look that the golden genetics are missing. The Anubis base is from a suggestion thread that actually inspired Xylax to invent the whole Egyptian storyline back in winter. We think they look very majestic! Suggestion. But, that's not all! They're also components of a special combo base. If you breed any of these bases together, you may get a Gilded base - something based off of Pharaoh royalty, and a suggestion base as well! - Suggestion. In future, we'll totally dig more suggestion creations which would be inspired by Egyptian gods and concepts, and maybe even ones that are more fitting to the three gods, or other gods that would be related to them. We're open to the ideas, and we thank the players for giving us inspiration! 0 players like this post! Like? |

So I went through all 3 of the Gods' paths. It says there are daily quests to complete, but I don't see any? Is this just me? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Not gonna lie, even with all the helpful suggestions in this thread, the event still proves to be too difficult to progress through without endless grind and energy items. - Slithers are too buff; when I'm dealing 15 damage a hit and they're doing 30, and Baast's only healing me for 3 hp if she does at all, that's a problem yo. I've always used the grab+pound combo in battles with my boy but even that's failing me now. It's making it impossible to complete the daily quests. - Lions don't count as felines when it's a Large and Small Felines quest and that's a problem when literally nothing else is spawning due to the weird spawn rates of the sneks. Is there a trick to this one? Certain area to find them easier? Since when did Lions transcend being feline? xD Or is Baast just making my life hard on purpose, haha! - I'm seeing a lot of disappointment in quest rewards and that's got me shook; I haven't been able to complete a daily yet from this event, when I finally manage it, am I doomed to continue struggling for my efforts? The whole event is wonderful and beautiful to look at and I am LOVING the animated bits; but there are tweaks that need doing and I can't help but feel like it's broken as it is currently. No average player is gonna be able to finish anything, and that's kinda poopy. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I have resorted to using all of my Lucky feet that I have stockpiled from signing in everyday just to get close to completing the quest where you need to defeat 10 snakes. So far I have defeated 3, 1 without a luck foot, the others with Lucky feet. So I guess this is a tip to those struggling with defeating the snakes as I am. Though this may mostly be because my lion has fewer stats then my last king and I am not used to it yet. I noticed my lion struggling to defeat all enemies recently, but that happened a little while before this months event. I think it is just cause my boi is low stat. (Slowly getting more tho) Good luck defeating the sneaky sneks! Loving the event, haha, at least the Lucky Foot items are getting put to use now lol 0 players like this post! Like? |

Love the event. The daily quests are difficult to finish when you work or go to school. I am lucky to even get just 10 of 20 enemies defeated when I get home, and that's if I didn't do anything else at home. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Awesome enemy artwork, but the daily quests are so hard to complete. For those of us who work or go to school, it's hard to be on enough to finish them. Maybe dial down the snake enemies a bit so we can get more of the daily quest targets to fight? The snake enemies are buffed pretty high. They are overly hard to defeat. Most of the time it's easier just to ignore them. I love the event concept though! Artwork is stunning. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 09/06/18 @ 19:10:31 by .LittleCourage. (#140267) |

I got a quest from Anubis to defeat 10 Canids, using my energy whenever it replenished, and I only ran into maybe 1 thing that qualified as a canid in the entire two hours worth of energy I had. Needless to say I trade out the quest for another one. 0 players like this post! Like? |

PSA: Don’t bother doing the quests. You get far more by just defeating serpents. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I honestly stopped doing quests unless they're Slithers. You don't encounter as many lions, felines, or canids anymore to make it worth while. I will trade out the quests until I get the Slither quest. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I agree with Piriya. 15 in one day?! Please change it to the Slithers. - I’m so excited for the shop, though! 0 players like this post! Like? |
