Hey there! I lied about this being a rp, but stick with me, I'm looking for a small group of rpers for a Dungeons and Dragons game. Now, before you lose interest, I want to let you know that you don't need any prior experience to get in on this. I'm going to be the Dungeon Master and I will be guiding everyone through the entire process, and ultimately this is just a role play, only with a more structured plot and some dice rolls. If that sounds appealing, let me give you the basics ;D How It Works This campaign will have a lot of traditional rp elements that I'm sure everyone on this site will be familiar with. Alongside this there will be generated dice rolls to determine the success of certain actions i.e. combat, perceptiveness, etc. More detailed inventory and skills, and I, as the host and "dungeon master", will not be a singular character, but instead control all NPCs and enemies, as well as work to help move the story, moderate, and so on. Background Information The campaign will take place in a typical D&D universe: ancient-medieval times, fantasy world with magic, lots of monsters, etc. The layout consists of barren deserts, dense jungles, lush rainforests, and impenetrable swamps with a number of castles and dungeons to explore. There is a vast array of sentient and non-sentient monsters to encounter, and plenty of treasure to uncover. The characters themselves will all be starting off at a trading port, and in a few beginning adventures will gain experience, acquire new skills, and most importantly learn how to cooperate together. The stakes will build over the coarse of the campaign into one ultimate goal, assuming you make it there >:D Characters I highly encourage diversity in characters, and if there's an idea you've been wanting to try out, but have felt as though it was too extreme, I give you full permission to do it here. With that said, you can't be One Eyed One Winged Flying Purple People Eater ridiculous, but there will be a lot of options. An important thing to remember is to make your characters dynamic, and try to build up their relationships to each other and the world around them, this will obviously be a learning process, but I will be there every step of the way. I'm going to set up everyone's character sheets through a series of pms, then send it to them and have it posted. You don't need to know everything about your character at all times, but try to keep track of your abilities, and inventory for usage in game. ![]() Edited on 13/06/18 @ 14:26:31 by Prince [side] (#57707) |

Just to give you an idea of the options available in this campaign, no need to get worried about reading all of these ;) Classes These are the different roles that your character can take on, although they do play a part, they do not define your character. You can read more about the classes here. BarbarianA fierce warrior of primitive background who can enter a battle rage Bard An inspiring magician whose power echoes the music of creation Cleric A priestly champion who wields divine magic in service of a higher power Druid A priest of the Old Faith, wielding the powers of nature and adopting animal forms Fighter A master of martial combat, skilled with a variety of weapons and armor Monk A master of martial arts, harnessing the power of the body in pursuit of physical and spiritual perfection Paladin A holy warrior bound to a sacred oath Ranger A warrior who combats threats on the edges of civilization Rogue A scoundrel who uses stealth and trickery to overcome obstacles and enemies Socerer A spellcaster who draws on inherent magic from a gift or bloodline Warlock A wielder of magic that is derived from a bargain with an extraplanar entity Wizard A scholarly magic-user capable of manipulating the structures of reality Races These are all of the playable races, some of which have been modified to better suit the game (marked by asterisks*). You can read more about them here. *Aarakocra A tropical variant of the standard aarakocra, in which they display parrot features, rather than an eagle or hawk's. They are wary of outsiders, but are an otherwise very social race with strong familial bonds. They can be heard chattering amongst themselves throughout the treetops of the rainforest. Bugbear Bugbears feature in the nightmare tales of many races — great, hairy beasts that creep through the shadows as quiet as cats. *Centaur Roamers at heart, centaurs love open spaces and the freedom to travel. These centaurs are found primarily in the desert, and as such have adapted to have lithe bodies, similar to that of Arabians, Marwaris, and Kathiawaris. Many possess the same fiery personality as the horse whose stature they share. Dragonborn Dragonborn look very much like dragons standing erect in humanoid form, though they lack wings or a tail. Silver and white dragonborn are rarely seen due to the climate. There are black/copper (acid), blue/bronze (lightning), brass/gold/red (fire), and green (poison). Dwarf Bold and hardy, dwarves are known as skilled warriors, miners, and workers of stone and metal. Mountain dwarves aren't commonly seen, and must have traveled a great distance to be in this land. Mostly hill dwarves. (I headcannon all dwarves with beards, and while I won't force this on anyone, I do encourage it ;)) Elf Elves are a magical people of otherworldly grace, living in the world but not entirely part of it. All elves, from drow to wood to high elf, exist here, but wood and high elves are most commonplace. Although the high elves are split into sun elves and moon elves, the latter of which are very reclusive. Tiefling To be greeted with stares and whispers, to suffer violence and insult on the street, to see mistrust and fear in every eye: this is the lot of the tiefling. *Genasi Genasi carry the power of the elemental planes of air, earth, fire, and water in their blood. The sub group of sand based earth genasi are very common. Gnome A gnome’s energy and enthusiasm for living shines through every inch of his or her tiny body. There are rock and deep gnomes. Goblin Goblins occupy an uneasy place in a dangerous world, and they react by lashing out at any creatures they believe they can bully. Goliath Strong and reclusive, every day brings a new challenge to a goliath. Halfling The diminutive halflings survive in a world full of larger creatures by avoiding notice or, barring that, avoiding offense. Lightfoot and stout exist. Half-Orc Half-orcs’ grayish pigmentation, sloping foreheads, jutting jaws, prominent teeth, and towering builds make their orcish heritage plain for all to see. Hobgoblin War is the lifeblood of hobgoblins. Its glories are the dreams that inspire them. Its horrors don’t feature in their nightmares. Human Humans are the most adaptable and ambitious people among the common races. Whatever drives them, humans are the innovators, the achievers, and the pioneers of the worlds. *Kenku Not so haunted by an ancient crime that robbed them of their wings, these kenku take on features like that of the notorious kiwi bird. They are unbothered and often to preoccupied with their own plans to spare any attention. *Kobold Kobolds are typically timid and shy away from conflict, but they are dangerous and vicious if cornered. Within this world they often vary between the appearance of horned lizards, alligator lizards, and skinks. *Lizardfolk Lizardfolk possess an alien and inscrutable mindset, their desires and thoughts driven by a different set of basic principles than those of warm-blooded creatures. Here they appear with desert iguana, komodo dragon, and alligator features. *Minotaur Many minotaurs embrace the notion that the weak should perish and that the strong must rule. There's a subrace of peaceful, but imposing minotaurs that resemble ankole cows. *Tabaxi Hailing from a not so strange or distant land, wandering tabaxi are catlike humanoids that bear resemblance to lions, leopards, jaguars, and tigers. They are driven by curiosity to collect interesting artifacts, gather tales and stories, and lay eyes on all the world’s wonders. *Tortle What many tortles consider a simple life, others might call a life of adventure. They are nomad survivalists eager to explore the wilderness. A subrace of snapping tortles can be found in the swampland. Yuan-ti The serpent creatures known as yuan-ti are all that remains of an ancient, decadent human empire. ![]() Edited on 15/06/18 @ 20:13:34 by Prince [side] (#57707) |

i'm curious exactly how you're planning to dm this--i assume over roll20, but would it be text-based or voice-based? i've been wanting to play a tiefling for a while so i might be interested, depending on the schedule :) ![]() |

@lemon I was actually going to set this up on either here or Discord, depending on what works best for everybody. If it's on Discord, I would definitely have voice-based as an option in addition to text-based. As for schedule, this is going to be pretty relaxed, whenever everyone is available, as it's got a bit of a heavier straight rp element. Tiefling are bae tho ❤ @Manta Ray Awesome :D ![]() |

@lemon I think initially I'd try to set up a session with everyone in it, just so everyone's on the same page. Later on I may experiment with people replying at different times, just to see how it goes. Well, if you find you can, I'll leave a spot open ;) I'm actually going to be out of state June 27th - August 3rd so I'll also be a bit pressed for time. Honestly tho, one of my favorite characters is a tiefling paladin (best combo) :D ![]() |

i'll see what i can do! i'm already part of two campaigns but i'm always itching for more dnd, so i'd love to make this work. tiefling paladin is such a strong combo! one of my players for the campaign i run is a tiefling cleric, and they're such an interesting character. i also really love jester from critical role... i can't resist them. i just love their horns and fantastical skin colors, they make for such fascinating characters! ![]() |

@lemon Lol, I feel, I'm setting up one irl alongside this XD Ikr, they follow a god of chaos aka they're just a destructive arse. I really love the sound of a cleric tiefling, I always favor them in non-combative positions or ones where a high moral compass is typically expected. Of course the horns are at least half the reason I play them ;D ![]() |

I've never played Dungeons and dragons before, always thought it looked good but never had anyone to play it with, I hope that's okay... ![]() |

Heyo! I'm very interested in this, but I don't have Discord, and would prefer to do it on site. Is this decidedly a Discord "RP"? ![]() |

I'd love to join! A campaign my brother was going to begin soon had me playing as a half-dragon cleric. I'd love to join in as them if you'd have me. ^^ ![]() |

I would love to join, but the fact that I'm literally part of like 4(one I DM, one with a group from a gamer's club, and 2 the same circle of friends I run one with) DnD campaigns at the moment, I feel like a 5th, even if it's not fully a DnD campaign(from the sound of it, that's what you'd be running, right? Like less character stats and such?), would be too much ![]() P.S. If you're running it in a traditional DnD world, you can actually find most of the maps for the Forgotten Realms world online (One of the continents and full world map). You should be able to find maps for the other world settings too (Eberon, Grayhawk, etc.). I thought I'd share this with you in case you wanted to get a little more into those sort of things. They're also just great resources to have XD ![]() |

I have absolutely no experience with Dungeons and Dragons, but I've always wanted the opportunity to learn. You can count me in if there's any room left. ![]() |
