After a long and restless night, the restless desire to return to the stranger in the woods was too strong. The pair had barely left each other's side in their anxiety-filled hours, a gorgeous duo who could stop any villager in their tracks by appearance alone. Side-by-side, sambar and whitetail, they approached Nakir with rising confidence.

After searching for what feels like ages, you come across a small bed of grass in the dark. Two mottled boulders hunkered next to a trickling stream of water. A Fawn sits between, their head tilted to the side and their eyes wide. They seem more curious than fearful of you. A breeze blows through your fur.

Daybreak was just beginning to crest over the tops of the forest canopy, casting rays of god-light onto grass heavy with dew. Pale hooves of two whitetail parted uncut blades as they approached the rumored Nakir with caution. Although determined to be dedicated helpers in this cause, neither faun had yet been part of this experience. Hesitation was only natural. Luckily it was easy to spot the dark forest-dweller in the ochre morning light.

You stumble over something in your searching, only noticing a decent grouping of tree saplings surrounding you. Practically buried in thick grasses, you see a small fawn, fast asleep. After collecting yourself, you squat down and gently wake them up. Though they’re groggy at first, they perk up quickly and happily follow you back to the village.
