 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

A lioness, queen of a nearby pride, was sitting quietly outside of the Itanya shelter, peering inside. It had been months since she had been to one of the shelters, and the last cubs she had gotten had already grown. Suddenly, she stood up and padded inside the den, looking around at all the cubs, one suddenly catching her eye. The young cub stood taller as soon as she realized she was being watched by a nearby lion of whom she had never seen or talked to before. As the male made his way over and asked her name she let a a tiny cub growl. "I'm Polar and who are.....You?" She asked eying the male up and down. "Are you here to adopt me?" (My lion is a female since I said queen just so you know ^^ Also yeah I was actually hoping you would do her cold personality lol) The Queen was unfazed on the outside, but on the inside she was slightly shocked, yet somewhat delighted. She loved the cubs fierce attitude, and she instantly knew she would make a great huntress. She blinked at the cub momentarily and then mewed, “Yes, if you would have me.” She smiled sweetly. “And might I say, you have a beautiful name, Polar.” She added, eying the cubs dark colors, which she adored. 0 players like this post! (Omg I'm so sorry I messed up its late here lol) The cub thought for a moment "I have been around these annoying broodmother and nosey cubs slightly to long so I suppose I can go with you...." Polar said, looking at the queen with emotionless eyes. "Amina! A lioness is here to adopt me if you want to say hello!" The cub called over her shoulder,and a female with kind eyes dipped her head to the king she was talking with and made her way over. "Hello, you must be Polars New queen!" She nodded. “So, Polar, you can follow me to your new territory.” She started paddling out of the den when she noticed a cub in the corner of her eye, a grey and darker grey speckled female, her head and tail drooped as she watched the queen walk out. The female smiled, Polar frowned "not the super happy one!" Polar groaned....Amina smiled and motioned for Wink to come over and Wink bounded over with a big grin sitting upon her face. "I'm wink! Who are you? Are you here to adopt me? Can we be friends?!" Wink kept asking questions but Amina calmed her by resting her tail on her. "You can ask all the questions you want at your new home." The queen smiled and padded out of the den, Polar stalking behind her, and wink bouncing along her side, yipping a different question every minute or so which included, but was not limited to: “how far is it? G A L A C T I C A gently padded up to the tigerdawn adoption centre looking for a new queen to join her pride. She noticed a young female sat in the corner of the den upon a small rock, as she approached she was barrelled into by a young cub who was brightly coloured barrelled into her as she regained her balance the young cub muttered an apology and ran off again. Galactica chuckled and called after the cub asking for her name "Ethser" she replied before jumping on one of the broodmothers, Galactica nodded and resumed walking towards the lioness who had caught her attention she spoke to the lioness in a low voice "what is your name my dear?" The lioness replied "pyotra" Galactica nodded her head and turned to the broodmothers and said" I wish to take Ethser and Pyrota to my pride" the broodmothers nodded and called over the two lions and said "come Pyrota, Ethser here is a queen here to take you to your new homes" they both came and sat with her while the broodmother went to check with the prides king if it's ok for them to go to Galacticas pride. 0 players like this post! Dawnlight padded quietly into Shelter Mtoaji, looking for the newest addition to her pride. She noticed a beautiful little cub sitting in the corner and chewing on some animal’s rib bone. She approached her and asked, “What is your name?” The cub replied, “ I’m called Steak. Why do you ask?” Dawnlight smiles down at the cub and said to her, “I want to adopt you into my pride.” Turning to Oxyura, she asked if she could take Steak with her. 0 players like this post! @Sunflower Esther and Pyotra looked to their broodmothers with anticipation. "Thank you for our time here," They both dipped their heads in respect and farewell to their pride, nuzzling a few of their close ones. The young lioness and the cub followed the king out of the den happily. (I'll send them over <3) @Bengal Oxyura purred welcomingly, "Of course!"
