All of my closest friends know I'm a furry. Most of them are furries as well, including my partner, which is really cool because it's always fun when you share hobbies with your friends. Outside of the "people who are also furries" circle, there aren't too many people who I've mentioned it to, simply because it's never been relevant to bring up. I know they aren't furries, so there's really no point in talking about that one hobby, when we could be doing other things that we do share in common.

I live with my partner and roommates, so the whole "do your parents know?" thing is a non-issue for me. Our one non-furry friend lived with us for a bit, and he gave us no problems besides the occasional lighthearted ribbing. We're all weirdo nerds, so he had plenty of quirks we could make fun of him for in return. I just made sure to clear it with him whenever I needed to use the common space to record a fursuit video or things of that nature, but that's just general good housemateship.

Some advice for telling your boyfriend: don't make a bigger deal of it. People base their reactions on how you present information to them: if you make it out to be some super uncomfortable big secret, he's going to treat it as such. Just mention it very casually. Sometimes letting people find out on their own is the best way. Maybe set your phone background to a photo of your fursona or something like that, and wait for him to ask you about it. "Hm? That's a drawing of my fursona I bought from so-and-so. Oh, you didn't know? Yeah, I've been a furry for a couple years now. I'm surprised you didn't know already." Then you can base your next comments on his response to that.

late response but!! the maker i found is opening 4 slots in june and there's a lot of interest and the wait is killing me hhhh so i'm looking for other makers in the meantime 😳 it's kinda hard cause my budget is limited and there are not that many makers in poland with lower prices, which is understandable! it's a difficult form of art. i wanted to get a partial of my girl sabuja (u can see her lil head on page 3) cause she's my baby. keep ur fingers crossed for me y'all 🙏

in my case, most of my friends know i "draw cute animals" and my closest friends love it, they know my OCs and i even designed fursonas for them cause why not. on the other hand tho, my mom doesn't know that i'm getting a pricey fursuit and i think it's better for her health to just Not Know for now hfskdj

Yeah I lived with my mom at the time I bought my fursuit head and I bought it with my own money but I didn't tell her the price. I just said "Oh...it's a graduation gift for myself" and left it at that.

quick update!! i found a maker who had one free slot and took my order, which means i will be getting my first ever fursuit soon :") it's gonna be a partial with paws and a tail for now but i might get me some sleeves in the future.

it still hasn't hit me yet, i've been waiting for my opportunity for 10 years and i just can't believe it. i guess it'll start to sink in when i see some wip pics but ahhhhh i'm excited and stressed at the same time hhh

About Your Fursona/Character:
I've actually had Silverstar as a character for around six years now (she started life as a Warriors OC and is still used that way), but last year I decided that she would become my fursona! I designed her myself, she's a tiny silver cat with some purple markings (simple, but I love her). Personality-wise, she's very smart, creative, and caring. I wanted to put a picture of her in here, but for the life of me I cannot figure out HTML.

About You as a Person:
I love to read, write, and draw! I'm just... a big nerd. I'm allergic to most animals, but I love them to death anyways (although I'm not a fan of insects or spiders). I'm public about being a furry, all of my friends and immediate family know and don't judge me for it. My friends are very chill people, and my family hadn't actually heard any of the terrible stories and tropes, so that worked out well for me. I don't have a fursuit and... don't really plan to get one, I think that part of the community is really cool but not for me personally.

Wow how did I just, not see this to respond to it uuugghhh it's been a long few weeks. I'll have a raffle up for y'all soon. Btw thanks Shetani and Raven! He's seen a few of my characters (unknowingly of course) never really said anything. He's watched a few Mugiwara videos with me, her cosplay characters specifically though not any fursuits.

Really Raven that's crazy, I think I've headed stone stories similar to that too! People getting fired over a hobby wth. There was one day at work my heart skipped a beat, I was showing my coworker a video on my phone and he thought he was going to scroll though my recommended videos. There's like nothing but furry YouTuber's and memes in my recommended, about scared me to death.

Moonlight is also a sona I designed. She doubles as one of my primary warriors OCs. She’s a blue-point siamese, and she’s my second-oldest sona, after Frostbite, who also doubles as a primary OC, except it’s for Wings of Fire (WoF) instead of Warriors.

Nightshade - a skullcat with black fur and eyes. She has a huge passion for theater and music, and will sing whenever she can, although she gets nervous when she has to sing in front of others.
Rika - a friendly, hyper wolf with purple, grey, and green fur. She gets easily excited about anything, and loves going to parties.
Glacier - a shy snow leopard who has a few close friends that she hangs out with. She doesn't like large crowds, and will go out of her way to avoid them.
