And now our rooster is eating our neighbors turkey eggs. My dad is being ridiculous, the rooster should be kept in the coop for awhile as a way to punish the imbecile. The neighbors said if they catch him in their coop again they’d snap his neck

My dad is refusing to keep the rooster in the coop and will intend on demanding the price he paid for the rooster if they kill him. But I think he’s in the wrong, they have a right to defend their property including their eggs, but for some goddamn reason he thinks he should be able to do whatever the f he wants and that the neighbors should just fing deal with it. I swear to f if they sue my dad is on his fing own cuz I’m not paying shit when it could easily have been avoided

Yes if it is on there property he has absolutely no choice in anything.. If they kill it or what. now if he was on his own property and they did it then they would have to pay your dad.. It is the same as if a dog rampages anyone in the street *cop or normal individual* they will have the right to put the animal down.. Whatever they do in their yard your dad will have no say so for :) By law.

I heard him tell my sibling we’d probably have to get rid of the rooster cuz he read once they eat eggs once they’ll keep doing it and he doesn’t want OUR eggs to be a target of our rooster >:c show some form of shame or something to our neighbors who’s eggs were our roosters dinner

I’m not sure, my sibling has them in their room with a heat lamb above their cage (very close so the heat is very close to the chicks, tho the cage is so big that if they need to they can get away from the heat very easily if they start to over heat)

It’s weird to me a rooster would eat eggs LOL idk much about roosters, I’ve researched more about ducks because I want to own some in the future, just don’t have the property to do so at the moment as I want them to be well taken care of, and I have the tiniest yard. If I ever got chickens I probably wouldn’t get a rooster, they seem like a pain lmao

I used a "Party Light" Light bulb that I used to buy from Walmart that was only 25 watts in an aquarium.
It was perfect!
Just raised it as the weeks went by...
Just going to let the one hen that keeps on being broody set on maybe 8 eggs this year

Would maybe a big plastic tub work? That’s what people use for ducklings so I’m not sure if maybe that would work for chicks too?

I have one rooster that attacks my husband viciously when he changes their water!
And I raised him in the house too...
The hen from that group is super tame.
She is a black Silkie and i can just pick her up and carry her around
The rooster is a red colored mixed breed...
and mean..But he does not attack me..

I told a friend that she can have the hen that is with him if she takes that rooster!
I have two pretty brother roosters that look blue that I set free because there were too many roosters in that pen
4 hens and 3 roosters was too many..
Those two boys are CHICKEN!
as in afraid to go anywhere...

They spend they days mostly on top of the pen that they used to live in..
