Support. I had to change the base and add a marking(considered replacing, but I liked the marking they had in slot 10 and wanted something to cover up her). I have a feeling, looking at a good number of the cousins, they have a pool of markings and bases and such and just get a random generated from that with 10 markings. The other one I got was decent, but it would have been nice if they looked like they were actually designed not "let me play shuffle on the wardrobe randomize". I think we were(or at least I was) expecting several designs, like a handful, similar to the event studs.

Honestly I like the current system of randomness

Sure, most of them aren’t particularly exciting-looking. But then honestly Wenet was pretty uninteresting imo too - she certainly didn’t have all rare or popular markings. The game was flooded with so many clones of her the 2 years she was claimable it got ridiculous, I’d rather have plenty of variation like this with the cousins personally. And they have 10 markings so they’re hardly comparable to ordinary NCLs.

Also, the cousins are only a fun little extra. We didn’t have to pay anything for them (whether people chose to pay the 2GB to guarantee claiming was completely optional, as it has been every year), and they’re just a small addition to the end of this month's event - which has 2 shops with tons of items, and a storyline which already gives out a bunch of freebies. I don’t think it's that big a deal not to get amazing lionesses for free on top of all that

(And yes, my two were both boring - but they still sold really fast for 3GB each just because they were Cousins. Likely could have been higher even, if I hadn’t just wanted an immediate sale. So it’s not like it isn’t easy to sell them on for some profit for those of us not interested in keeping them)

Alright, ranting aside, I think a good option would be limiting the bases to particular colors. Getting a random base that doesn't suit the markings was possibly the most frustrating thing. The markings are a mix of NCL event markings, exclusive, oasis, and raffle markings, so they are not fully "shitty". If the random system remains, I feel like that would at least help prevent the "potato" cousins.

I agree Blackthorn. The markings should have been more interesting, special. The bases should have all been uncommon or better, after all, Wenet has an uncommon base (used to be special).

I missed out on Wenet last year (my first year on Lioden, i joined late), so I was excited to get in on time this year to get her.

This feels like a bit of a slap in a face personally. Even worse that the lionesses themselves look....awful, and it's RANDOM what they look like, and they look worse than some NCLs!

I can't even tell what the Wenet cousins look like? How do you distinguish them apart from a regular NCL? I've completed the quest line, I've wasted about 3 bars of full energy on both of my accounts trying to find 'wenets cousin's or at least a decent NCL, and nothing. I agree with the sentiment that these particular quest lionesses should either be rare or special bases, all I keep finding are shitty cream common NCL's with barely visible freckles -_-
