Tbh, I really don't see the point in the cub death feature. No one likes having their cubs die- it is pointless, frustrating, and extremely upsetting especially if you lose an important cub you can never bring back. It's even worse when someone sells you a cub on the verge of death and you don't realize it, and you end up paying a ton for a cub that dies the next day because you forgot to protect it. What does the cub death feature even add to the game? Nothing, really, except yet another stressful thing people have to worry about. There's no reason people should lose their valuable cubs for being forgetful- we already have to worry about feeding lions and keeping their moods up, nesting pregnant lionesses, etc, so why do we ALSO have to worry about our cubs dropping dead because we forgot to protect them? It serves no purpose outside of being stressful to manage. It isn't fun, it doesn't add anything interesting to the gameplay except perhaps the introduction of the broodmother mechanic, but why should cubs have to actually permanently die for that to be a thing?? Many people have experienced the scenario of simply being forgetful because they have huge prides, or they're busy in real life, or whatever else, and they end up losing an heir, or a special mutated cub, or a cub they just paid tons of GB for the day prior. And it SUCKS. No one likes it when that happens, especially since there is 0 chance of EVER getting that cub back again. So, my suggestion? Either completely remove the 'cub mortality' feature entirely, OR change it so that instead of dying, the cub 'runs off and gets lost', and you can pay to get them back or something. There should be a way to get your cubs back if you lose an important one- what's the point of preventing that other than to punish people who happen to have lives and not always think to check cubs every day alongside everything else they have to manage in the game?? |

Its to limit the numbers of cubs you can have, first of all. You have to pick and choose. It warns you tons of times before it dies. ![]() |

No, actually, it doesn't. There is no warning on the main den page, you have to actually check the individual cubs. The inbox message you get on rollover doesn't count, that's just a cub accident blurb, not "this cub is literally going to die tomorrow." ![]() |

I think you do unless im crazy? And a banner I support. Removing cub deaths means every cubs survives, which is an awful strain on server space. Buy a hornbill if they are on protection cooldown. Its not that hard to do ![]() |

Cub death was actually an answer to an important issue - cub milling. When cubs used to be safe without the user doing anything to protect them (cubs dont run due to hunger or boredom, and it was abused by people overbreeding their lions and then not caring for the cubs), a lot more were bred and kept, taking up server space gradually more than they do now. People would just breed and then forget about their cubs untill 2 years old, when there'd be a risk they'd run off - tons and tons of cubs. The cub limit in dens was also put to adress the milling issue. So it's not "just" a realism/useless feature - it was an answer to a serious issue of milling. Cub death is very easily prevented with simply caring for your cubs. You dont even really need to protect it with a broodmother. Every time you feed it, or play with it, its survival bar raises. If you so much as care for your cub, it will safely make it to 1 year old. There are ! and Skull icons, when cub is not secured or at risk of dying, that's indicating enough to know they're not protected. The cub mortality merely makes sure that if a user truly cares for a cub, then they will take steps to secure it and make sure they dont loose it. If you really care for a cub yet dont want to do anything to it - dont play with it, dont feed it, dont protect it - then, DO you really care for your cub? If you cannot spend a second securing it? It takes days for cub survival bar to drop down enough for it to be at risk of dying - if you ignore and neglect your cub for over 4 days, not sparing them a moment of your time... then DO you really care for them? ![]() No support, sorry. "Other pride members" are not an excuse. A cub is as much of a pride member as any adult lion, it's not any different to recieve special treatment and be literally secure without any care put into them. All lions must be cared for, regarless of their age, if you want to keep them - if you forget because you have too many lions... it doesnt mean cub death mechanics is bad, it means you have too many lions. If the amont of lions you have makes some features of the site not enjoyable for you anymore - then you have too many lions to care for and need to downsize your pride, to make the game comfortable and enjoyable for yourself again. ![]() Edited on 14/05/19 @ 06:08:30 by Mad Hyena (#29080) |

I actually don't mind the cub feature and kinda think it's neat if not a bit underwhelming most of the time, if anything I wish it was a lot harder to keep em alive as it's way too easy IMO lol. Frankly I'd not want to see it go. Maybe have it expanded or improve, but not removed. That's my reason for not supporting since you asked to say why despite it being a really simple reason lol ![]() |

If you're struggling to care for your cubs I agree with the people above; downsize or don't breed your lions. All the lions need equal amount of care, cubs are no exception. It doesn't even take that much effort to put a brood mother to protect your cubs and feed them up, it's about the same amount of effort as it is to secure your regular lions and feed them up. Cub deaths are an absolutely needed feature for a game such as this, don't care about your cub? It dies. Same goes for your other lions, don't care for them? They run off or die. No support sorry. ![]() |

Man, there's warnings. You get warnings for unprotected cubs via message on every single rollover, and there's a symbol besides your cub, on your GENERAL den page, that says it's unprotected and close to death. I think it's a nice little challenge. ![]() |

I actually think the cub death messages and every else relating to the subject is very useful. One time it helped me NOT lose a cub that was very important to me. EDIT: I just realized this about cub deaths. One word. BROODMOTHERS. ![]() Edited on 30/05/19 @ 10:48:23 by Corrupt {Glacial Primal} (#158927) |

This isn't a suggestion to remove the messages and warnings. It is a suggestion to remove the cub death feature altogether. ![]() |

No support. It is the player's own fault for not using the broodmother feature to protect their cubs. Removing the cub death feature would also make the "nurturing" personality completely useless. ![]() Edited on 30/05/19 @ 10:48:27 by amourplastique (#115067) |

I agree with the other users about the cub milling. I personally end up with Too Many cubs, and its important to me to pick and choose which cubs to keep. If a cub is truly important to me i make sure they are taken care of by a broodmother, and sure its sad when one dies but it just shows that you have to manage your pride. ![]() |

No support. Theres a cub limit for a reason. If they didnt die, you'd be full on cubs. I'm sorry but I don't see a single reason they should change it. ![]() |

To me, if someone buys an expensive cub and doesn't take the time to assign them to a broodmother and check the cub's hunger and mood stats, that's on them. And as others have said above, if someone can't take care of all their lions, they need to downsize and cub death helps that process. No support. ![]() |

Also, sure this game isn't realistic, but its semi-realistic. Do you think cubs NEVER die irl? No. ![]() |
