The challenge has been conquered! All hail Mittens, your new King/Queen/Title of their own choosing of Fire Escape!But do keep playing, and comment if you have not already! There will be some not-GB-but-hopefully-still-OK giveaways at the end of the event. See the 2023 notes below and this post for details!  For the love of all that is good in this world somebody PLEASE beat my score in Fire Escape. Please. I didn't acquire said score with any degree of skill, just with a bunch of furious slapping of the spacebar. It was 2017. I was younger then. My reflexes were like that of a person 6 years younger than my current age. And I'm older than a good chunk of the Lioden playerbase so if I can do it, you can do it. Please, somebody. Anybody. This is not what I should be remembered for. This is not what I should be immortalized for all of time for. If I'm gunna be on any leaderboard, it should be the Grumpy Old Lady leaderboard. >( "There's Msasi," People should say. "That crazy old lady no one wants to get to close to anymore. You know. Because of her weird mutterings and also the smell." Yeah. That would be great. Far, far preferable to THIS. LEADERBOARD.  First person to beat my score gets FREE ME FROM THIS CURSE IN THIS, THE YEAR 2023, PLEASE AND THANK YOU Some notes for 2023: * THIS IS THE FINAL YEAR OF THE CHALLENGE. There are a couple reasons for this, the main being that after all this time I do suspect that it IS an impossible score to defeat, lmao. Perhaps I just need to accept that this is my legacy and accept it. I sort of wanted my legacy to be sepias, but sometimes you just have to live with what fate gives you. * The prize has been boosted to 125 GB this year! Please beat my score and win it from me!  * 2022 Msasi was once again a saint and remembered to buy Jolly Pose apps (or Msasi's friends were Super Cool People who reminded her to buy them). Huzzah! This means, as usual, a full set of poses will be awarded to anyone who is on the leaderboard with a 2023 score at the end of the event. If, like last year, there are no new scores added, I will add everyone who comments on this thread this year into a big ol' list and task a random number generator with choosing a few winners. It may be useful for you to comment anyway, as this being the last year of the challenge, I may do some other smaller giveaway things at the end of the month too. * Remember to hydrate and take time to rest your sweet, sweet eyeballs and spacebar pressing digits.  OK! Wow! Honestly, after the last few years, I was not expecting my score to be beaten, and especially so early in the month! I AM SO EXCITED, you guys have no idea.  First! Mittens! Congratulations! May your Fire Escape reign be long and peaceful. You da best.  Now please, rest your precious eyeballs and spacebar pressing digits and enjoy your GB. You deserve it. Second! To everyone who has taken part in the challenge over the last few years - thank you! I appreciate each and every one of you and your attempts. I have enjoyed cheering you on, and I hope the attempts you've made have honed your Fire Escaping skills, or at the very least earned you plenty of event currency!  Third! While the challenge to win my GB is over, there are still things for the rest of you to win! This thread will remain open until the end of the event. Anyone else who puts up a 2023 score on the leaderboard will win a full set of pose applicators! As well, since the challenge is over, everyone who comments on this thread until the end of the event will be entered in giveaways to win Stuff From Msasi's Hoard (one entry per person). These aren't super exciting prizes like the GB, but I still have some applicators and BGs and such stored away, so hopefully I can offer up at least some decent stuff! Hello everyone! August has ended! Hooray! This was my last check of the leaderboard a minute before the event ended last night:  No other 2023 scores aside from Mittens', so I have a full set of pose applicators to award to two randomly chosen players who commented on this thread in 2023! I listed out everyones names in a notepad and got an assist from random.org for the number pickin'! And the winners are: October🦇 (#320587) WiltingRose (#223851)  But wait, there's more!
