[ Support My Other Suggestions? ] Making Sub Males More Useful Make Grandpaws How They Were Meant to Be ------- ✪ Summary: Shaman Piety is an extremely limited currency. Unlike almost every other quest in every Lioden event - potentially *every* other quest - Shaman Quests cannot be properly skipped without detriment to the player. Other quests allow you to skip a quest if it proves too hard. You pay an event beetle fee or SB to be given a new, random quest and you move on with life. Not so with Shamans. If you skip a quest, you permanently lose a quest for the day. And if you get multiple quests you can't complete, well you're out of luck. With the sheer amount of new encounters being added to the game constantly - both event and normal encounters - it continuously weighs the RNG odds of getting the correct encounter AGAINST the player. There is also a very incredibly obvious mechanic in place that makes certain encounters - if not all - harder to find if the quest seeking it is active. After 6 or 7 energy bars, you should have found your quest encounter by now, but that's not the case. But after skipping the quest, miraculously, what you were looking for shows up. Frankly, this is getting absurd. ✪ What I Am Proposing: [+] Add a Scarab Beetle 're-roll quest' option instead of a total skip. [+] DO NOT give players the same quest they just skipped. I'm suggesting this amount be 10 Scarab Beetles. This month gives low currency drops and if you repeatedly get a quest you can't do, it'll be pricy, but at least you won't be locked out of quests entirely because it continues to ask you to look for that dumb cow or those humans you haven't seen even once since the event started. You get 2-3 Piety per quest, and the big ticket Piety rewards for many players are Ancestral Markings. It takes thirty (30) to apply a single marking. That's 5-ish days worth of work assuming you can even complete every quest. If you can only complete 2, it stretches into 10 days. Edit Log: [ ADDED] 11/23/2020: DO NOT give players the same quest they just skipped. Since there is an issue with multiple quests through the game already doing this, I'm politely requesting that if this change is implemented, it doesn't give players the same quest they skipped. [UPDATE] 11/19/2022: LioDevs have added the following encounter as of November 2022: However, despite it being added, some have reported rarely finding this encounter. It may not be sufficient. Quote: "Huge support. I know they implemented the Ahihia encounter BUT I never encountered her even once in the entirety of November. At all. And I am a hardcore player, I roll every day and play for hours. So either the chance of getting the encounter is so low that it’s not even useful, or they messed up and didn’t implement it right. Either way, there DEFINITELY needs to be options for those quests bc it there were days in November where I went 12 hours of constant exploring and never got the one I needed" -via Chow.Hound (#162617) I myself only encountered her once. If you don't support, I'd like to know why. I appreciate constructive criticism over a simple "no". |

I'm not usually the one to mind "hard" event quests, but at this point where I've had to use +3-4 energy bars just to complete 1 shaman -explore-quest; it's kind of ridiculous 1 player likes this post! Like? |

For some reason I can encounter whatever I need for the quest at least three times but whenever I actually need to encounter them, I'm wasting 5 or more energy bars just to find that encounter.. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

every november i wish they would implement either of these solutions and it never happens. i try to avoid giving up on quests (especially knowing i’ll probably see the encounter right after i do) so i skip out on all battles and it feels like such a waste to have to do that, especially considering when i don’t have that quest i am usually able to find it multiple times in a couple bars. then to add insult to injury you don’t get to select the slot or percentage when you do finally get to 30. i love this event but it drives me insane 1 player likes this post! I am 100% convinced that once you need to find a certain lion, they are PURPOSEFULLY MADE TO BE HARDER TO FIND. I need the Kalahari lion. Guess who showed up? THREE TIMES BACK TO BACK??? The Tsavo Lion. It's unfair. Make the encounters EASIER to come across, not HARDER. >:| 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I spent whole day of exploring in search for Kalahari lion. One after another I met Tsavo, Transvaal and Katanga. But Kalahari? Nope. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I thought I was insane because these quests are not easy to find at all. So happy to have found this thread. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I get all these great encounters, when I am not on a quest, but when I am...I can't find what I need. I need fire on my main account...before the quest...i had so many fire encounters it was laughable, but once the quest was given forget it, fire has vanished. On this (my alt account) i need to defeat the Kalahari lion. One encounter after another I have met Tsavo, Transvaal and Katanga. But Kalahari? Nope, he apparently doesn't exist right now. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Happy November everyone, so excited to have the same problems again this year since they refuse to fix anything lol Yknow how for years people were saying “it seems like there’s a mechanic that makes markings less likely to pass if they’re at a low opacity” and the devs and mods and whoever else is in charge kept saying “no no no don’t say that, that’s not a thing! The chances are exactly the same :)”? But then they made that recent update where….surprise surprise! That mechanic actually DID exist and needed fixed, meaning the players were right who would’ve thought….. Starting to think that November is suffering from something similar. There HAS to be something in the game’s code that is making things more difficult. It might not be intentional/meant to be there (like the opac system), but it’s abundantly clear that it DOES exist, so I really wish the devs would actually do something about it instead of continuously insisting that it doesn’t. Edit: if they continue with the whole “that mechanic doesn’t exist” thing, I think changing the quests to be more broad could be a decent solution. Like instead of “defeat the kalahari lion” make the quest something like “defeat one of the 4 intruding lion lords in explore” and put all those guys into a species group so it’ll count towards the goal if you kill any one of them (like killing an AWD counting towards the canine kill count for monkey quests). I have no idea how the non-battle explore encounters could be fixed though, other than just getting rid of some to unclog the encounter amount, or just overhaul the quests entirely and make them like Harbinger’s by having us “see x amount of visions” in explore or even a “spread the word to neighboring kings” by visiting x amount of other player’s dens or something, and have the easy ones give less piety while the hard ones give more piety. It’s cool to have special event quest encounters in explore, but I would MUCH rather have a simple “kill 5 lions in explore” than spend all day looking for one specific lion who doesn’t actually exist for some reason 4 players like this post! That's what I've been thinking too, I think the devs are being completely truthful when they say the encounter rates haven't been tweaked, but there's SOMETHING fucky in the code that they've overlooked. There is no way in hell it's just poor RNG. I hope this gets implemented this year because they do have the capability to fix the encounter rates as evidenced by June's quests. I actually really like the idea of searching out a specific encounter from a huge pool (though I don't want it to be expanded any further) it's just the encounter rates that really kill it for me. I love this events theming I just wish it was fun to play. I don't want any more bandaid fixes like the Ahihia encounter I just want the rates to be tweaked and a good change quest button, plain and simple. 4 players like this post! Like? if they could fix it with the June bonus quests from the corridor then they can fix it with November's weird encounter skewing. 2 players like this post! Like? |
