A ray of light pierces through the darkness of your inn room as you push away the curtains, revealing a cacophony of colour and sound erupting from the village square nearby. It's noisy and disorienting after the dreadful sleep you've just awoken from, but it puts you in joyful spirits. You're about to go and get breakfast when a brilliant light shimmers behind you. Turning around, you see a kirlia with a finger pointing to the bulletin board standing barely visible in the distance. She says nothing, and before you could speak, she disappears. You should be feeling at least a little shocked, but for some reason you almost feel like you know her. You skip the stairs down and push through the inn doors, dashing all they way to the bulletin board, curious to see just what that Kirlia got you all riled up for. A warm morning sun, hindered not by trees, greets you along with the speckles of sea-foam that the ocean rained all over you. The bulletin board stands ever proud, with colourful posters covering every inch of the wood it was built from. However, three sheets of dull papyrus paper suddenly catch your attention. Scribbled on them were exaggerated portraits of three Pokémon. They're wanted posters. Lately, more and more of these have started popping up on the bulletin board as evil deeds were left unpunished by the village's supposed guardians, the Seraphs. Criminal Pokémon have been running amok in the area, with no one to keep them in check, and these were the three latest crime-doers. It seems like they're wanted for petty theft, but otherwise, nothing seems out of the ordinary. At least nothing to warrant a visit from a mysterious kirlia. However, upon closer inspection, you realise something else. You recognise these three! A zorua, a murkrow, and a sneasel. You've definitely seen them around before, they're a trio of friends that like to take turns watching out for suspicious activity in the village at night. You find it curious that those seemingly-nice youngsters are now wanted criminals. You ponder over it a bit before suddenly, a large shadow loomed over you. You turn to see a large Pokémon beside you, a Seraph no less! It was a dragonite with pure-gold scales gleaming like it emitted light themselves, barring her face and wings, she was covered head-to-toe with those beautiful scales. Her face was calm and collected, but her eyes looked vicious. She then opened her maw to speak, revealing a set of sharp teeth, "I see you're interested in bringing these lowlifes to justice." You hadn't exactly made up your mind yet, but in the presence of such an intimidating individual, you were forced to nod in agreement. She turns her glaring eyes away from you and you silently breathe a sigh of relief. "Such evil will not be tolerated under the light and reign of the Sunne Pokémon. We as Pokémon must stand together to preserve justice." She clawed the posters off of the board with such ferocity that other postings were ripped into pieces. She spares another look at you, "you seem capable enough to deal with Pokémon this weak-looking. Take your pick." You're again, forced to answer, but this time you have a different plan in mind. You'd like to know wether these Pokémon truly committed theft, or if this was one of those Seraph lies you've been hearing about. You steel yourself and steady your slightly shivering hand and point to... > The Zorua

A side-quest has appeared! Rumours have arisen that a suspicious group of Pokémon are spotted wandering near the village. Pokémon are needed to keep vigilant for strange behaviour! To take on this side-quest, just say so! It will not prevent you from taking on the main quest, in fact, it's encouraged that you do both. 0 players like this post! Like? |

You point at the murkrow, and the dragonite merely nods in reply, "Be vigilant, that nasty murkrow could be anywhere. Beware of its sly trickery." Her eyes meet yours and you almost spit out your plan outright out of pure intimidation, and then, with a mighty flap of her wings, she takes to the skies, nothing more than a golden dot in the sky. You stare at the poster again. A murkrow, wanted for theft. At the very bottom it reads, "Stole a precious family heirloom, inform a Seraph if you have any information regarding the whereabouts of this Pokémon!" Time to put your plan into action. You rush back to the village to look for any Seraphs. You hope that they'd at least pretend to care about the festival, but you see none at all in the village square. Shaking your head, you decide the next best location to check is the village borders, where you just might find a Seraph patrolling nearby. The village border is marked by a wide river bend, looking around, you don't see anyone patrolling the area. At this rate, this village would be sitting ducks for wicked Pokémon, but you push these thoughts away to focus on the task at hand. In the corner of your eye, you see a tail poking out of a bush, a-ha! You slowly make your way towards the bush, and before you could reach it, a slowpoke crawls out from it. He takes a whole 5 seconds before noticing your presence. "Oh," the slowpoke starts, "I didn't see you there, I'm supposed to be guarding the village in place of Ms. Dragonite, I must've dozed off." He begins to crawl back to his post before you stop him, "Hey, do you know anything about a murkrow thief?" The slowpoke, again, takes a while to answer. "Murkrow? I've heard about it. The Seraphs told me they stole a cubone's skull." You're a little bit shocked, knowing the precious value a cubone's skull holds, it seems unbelievable that anyone would have the heart to even considering stealing one. You thank the slowpoke and help carry it back faster to its post. Then you head back to the village square in search of a cubone. After asking around, you were told that someone had spotted the cubone hiding behind some crates and you go and check. In a narrow alley, behind a stack of wooden crates, was a cubone. And lo' and behold, covering its face, is a skull. "Hi there," you begin, not even the slightest bit shocked, "I'm looking for a bad Pokémon, I hear they stole your skull from you. But well, it's plain as day that you've got it perched safely on your face right now. Did you get it back somehow?" The cubone is reluctant to speak to you at first, but then he answers, "Nope! Nu-uh, there's no way I'd let anyone steal this, it means the world to me!" Then he began to swing around a stick he had been holding, demonstrating how he'd, uh, 'bonk' anyone who dares try and steal it's precious skull. You say your thanks and depart. Knowing this you go back to your inn to wait for nightfall, besides your belly is running empty, time to fuel up. The moon settles into its perch in the middle-most point of the sky, though outside your window, you can still see colourful lights flickering away, illuminating the streets below still full of lively Pokémon. You make your way back to the village border, It's a gamble, but you might have an idea as to where that murkrow may be hiding. However, before you can make it out of the village, to your utmost disdain, a Seraph is actually guarding the border this time. You consider sneaking past them, but that might make you seem really suspicious. After weighing your options, you decide to strut past the Seraph, chin up like you could go anywhere you wanted and have no one stop you. You walk past the Seraph, a typhlosion, and make it all the way across to the other side of the river. The typhlosion didn't even blink. Once you're certain you're out of his sightline, you dash away deeper into the island and all the way up to a very particular hill. On top, an old, dried-out tree stands tall. The winds blow hard but it's branches remain still as if made of metal. Even from a distance in the dark, you can see the shiny, black feathers of a gathering of murkrow, coversing in something you can't make out. This place is called the Watching Tree's Hill, after the gleaming murkrow eyes in between the trees branches that made it seem like it had eyes of its own. You could definitely see how young Pokémon and exhausted travellers could get spooked by it, the effect was definitely eerie. However, they're just murkrow. Maybe they have a tendency to eye shiny objects and play silly pranks, but otherwise, they couldn't be that bad. You pulled yourself up a ledge and find yourself staring up at a dozen or more murkrow, all staring back at you with shiny yellow eyes. You proclaim, "I'm here to find a particular murkrow, accused of theft, are you there?" In hindsight, exclaiming that you were on a criminal-hunting mission in front of potentially said criminal was not the brightest idea, but it did the trick. All those golden, leering eyes turned to one murkrow in particular, and they all flew away, leaving the poor, trembling Pokémon to your mercy. "Hey, I'm not here to arrest you or anything," you trail off, obviously, you aren't convincing anyone. "Uhn, that cubone they say you stole from, he still has all his stuff, you know, I met him. He doesn't even know you." The murkrow eyes you suspiciously, "and you'd believe me if I told you I'm innocent?" You're actually not 100% sure, but there were a lot of facts that did point to that being the case. Either way, you'd be more likely to trust this murkrow than any of those lying, scheming Seraphs back in the village. So, you nod. The murkrow stares a little bit longer, then they caw, "Follow me!" And takes off, onyx-black wings spread on each side. You instantly chase after them. 'This might be a trick,' your mind tells you, 'but it's the only lead you've got," it also reasons. The murkrow slices between trees and narrow spaces between rocks, and you're forced to run right on their tail so you don't lose sight of the dark bird to the inky black sky. At last, you reach a beach with an opening to a small cove, hidden beneath a rock ledge. The murkrow flies in and you follow suit- without the flying part. Your eyes adjust, letting you see into the pitch-black cavern. You almost squawk yourself, because inside was a Seraph. It was a large honchkrow, with a proud, light plumage adorned with crimson feathers that almost look like battle scars. Perched around it was a ring of panicked murkrow, the one that abandoned the one you were looking for. It seems like they flew here to ask for the honchkrow's help to rescue their friend. You come back to your senses and thrust out the first question on your mind, "Who are you?" The honchkrow stares at you like its debating wether to trust you or not. The murkrow you were following squawks in support of you, which you suppose, was very kind if not gullible. You appreciate the help anyways because the honchkrow finally answers, "If you meant to ask me wether I'm with those insufferable fools in the village, no, I would never associate with them." You look on, fully engrossed in this mystery, "But why? They get all the respect and power any Pokémon could ever wish for." The murkrow all start speaking, their words overlapping one another. "Honchkrow would never join those pretentious poseys!" "Our great Honchkrow, working with evil Pokémon?" "Honchkrow will always remain our true leader!" At this, they all cawed in agreement. You watch in amusement, but something nags at you. A memory, a story you've heard sometime, somewhere a while back. And then, you recall it. "Honchkrow, you don't happen to be that Honchkrow, would you? The one who used to be the village guardian?" The murkrow all fluttered their wings in agreement, "Yes, yes, the Bird of Dawn! The Bird of Dawn! Our great Honchkrow, the Vermillion Bird!" The Seraph merely laughs heartily, though it sounds like a drowning politoed's croaks. "That is I! And I is he!" He spread his wings to show off his gorgeous plumage, though the display reminds you of those ostentatious Seraphs back in the village. 'The next logical question would be...' you think over it a bit, then ask, "Why don't you return to the village and help us? The Seraphs there are nothing but frauds!" The honchkrow shakes his head sadly, "Oh, if only.", "If only!" The murkrow parroted back. "See, one day when I was growing a little too old to be the village's protecter, some Seraph Pokémon came into the village proclaiming that their strength was unrivalled! That under their watch, the village would prosper in an era of peace devoid of evil-doers. They were there, fur and feather gleaming and youthful, unlike me. It was very clear which of us the village would entrust their care upon." Honchkrow paused and threw his head back, pointing his wing into the sky, "Oh! If only I had realised in time! Those filthy, selfish Pokémon! The villainy!" Okay, this was all getting much too dramatic, you open your mouth to urge him to hurry up with the story when he continues, "I was banished! Not long after retirement, I was accused! Accused of blasphemy against the great Sunne Pokémon! Creatures of the night, we are," Honchkrow says, spreading his wings over the murkrow, "but the sun nurtures us in day, how dareth I speak foul against it?" "Okay, okay, I get it. But that doesn't answer my question, why don't you try and help us?" You stop them before they could erupt in a musical or something of the sort. The murkrow laugh a cruel-sounding cackle, and Honchkrow puffs up his chest, "Well, perhaps I am indeed much too old to protect my village with talon and gale, but I must retain my wits! I shall have it that the village I've sworn to protect will once again be cleansed of evil! It is as they say, brains over brawn, my friend!" He guffawed, and you're left there to watch in both horror and awe. This was the Vermillion Bird. You lay awake in your bed back in the inn. You're reminded of the plans Honchkrow had in mind. "Be off my friend, it is night. Rest well, and speak nothing of this encounter. If you truly wish to aid in our cause, stay in the village, keep the peace. No one must know of the Seraph's wickedness," he then turns to a murkrow, "This murkrow you followed here shall watch over you in the village. He shall be of aid in your, ah, what's it called? An exploration team? He is stealthy and swift, so worry not." Sounds simple enough, you suppose. When you finally dose off, that familiar voice rings in your head as you float in an endless expanse of darkness. "Good job. What you've done today, it is your first steps towards protecting this village from a dark reign. Aid the Vermillion Bird, be safe." And with that, the voice is gone, and you're left alone to finally sleep and rest. > Recruited: A Murkrow! > Received: 2 Next main quest will be revealed on May 10th 05:00PST (You are aware of how to request designs and the design limit, yes? ;o;) 0 players like this post! Ty! ^^ Also okie, lemme explain! Basically you will gain Pokémon along the way of this event, i.e the murkrow you just recruited and the persian you have as a starter. Right now, they don't have any actual visual design, but you can request for me to design your Pokémon once you earn them! (You can fill out the form in the lobby to do this) However, throughout the entire event, you can only request for me to design 3 Pokémon, not including your starter which will be designed no matter what. So for example, if by the end of this event you manage to recruit say, a pidgey, a caterpie, a pikachu, and a rattata, you can only request for three of them to be designed. Of course, you don't have to wait for the end of this event to ask me to design your Pokémon, in fact, you can ask to design your murkrow rn! But be aware that you can only ask for only three designs in total until the end of this event. (I might add an item to the shop later on that allows you to request for more designs, but for now, your limit is three!) also another quick question, your persian's nickname will be il gatto grasso right? ;o; 0 players like this post! 🌟opossum🌟's version of 'Brilliant Light' Gatto watches silently as the sun rises from its slumber, now hovering above the horizon. He'd given up trying to go back to sleep and decided to come here and watch the sunrise. Murkrow was perched upon a rock just beside him, groggy due to his nocturnal nature. Gatto had come to find out that unlike his fellow murkrow associates, this one was much more reserved and quiet, and besides, it was nice to know that he wasn't alone in carrying out this impossible-sounding task. When it got particularly bright, murkrow let out a big yawn and turned to the persian, "Now that it's sun-up, I have a message for you. From you-know-who," he caws, and Gatto leans in to hear him better, "Today, we've got something specific in mind. He was inspired by your initiative, and now Honchkrow wants to know one thing: the Seraphs' weakness." Gatto tilts his head in confusion, "Isn't he a Seraph himself? Why doesn't he know?" The murkrow shakes his head, "No, no, he doesn't remember hatching from an egg, or even having a family. He suspects Seraphs are just...made. He isn't so sure himself, though. That's why we'll have to conduct a most thorough investigation!" Then he yawns again, "Correction, you'll have to conduct a most thorough investigation!" Gatto grumbles in protest, but finally decides exhaustion might cause the murkrow to get sloppy. Being caught red-handed would be worst case scenario. Murkrow notices his troubled expression and chirps, "Not to worry, I'll just take a quick power nap, then I can go back to being your eyes and ears in the sky!" Finally, the two part ways and Gatto makes his way back to the village square, trying to concoct a decent plan. In the festival square, the persian lays down on a flight of stairs leading to the Seraph's council-house, where all of them reside. He spent an hour watching the wretched building, it's golden arcs and pillars and eyesore under the glaring sun, but alas, Gatto hadn't a single clue of what do next. And then, inspiration struck. It was that typhlosion from yesterday, walking aimlessly in the foyer garden of the council-house. It may have sounded ridiculous to Gatto at first, but apparently not everyone in the so-called Seraph council were fully-fledged members. Some were just apprentices, and others refused to partake in the nastier acts the higher-standing ones dabble in. Gatto considered asking them out-right, but it would be too big of a risk to even try. The persian bathes in the sunlight a little longer before settling on a plan. He would try and earn one of those Seraph's trust and subtly worm his way to the answer he was looking for, now, he just needed to figure out who. After watching a bit longer, Gatto spots an eevee. They had the signature feathers and look of a Seraph, but surprisingly small, unlike the others. Thinking about it reminds you of the dragonite Seraph. If this plan were to go off without a hitch, he'd have to avoid suspicion at all costs. There had to be something, some excuse or lie he could up with to try and get the eevee far away from the council-house, far away from the watchful eyes of the Seraphs walking around. He'd hate to lie to any Pokémon, but this would have to be one exception. 'For the greater good," Gatto grumbles. He walks up to the eevee, and it wasn't helping that they were much more shorter than the persian. The only silver lining he could find was the fact that the eevee wasn't a child, he hadn't the heart to lie to them, even for a cause like this. The eevee looks up to you, their head tilted, "May I help you?" How do you reply? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hmmmmm the Persian thinks knowing he could ask eevee for help after all they would be more likely to trust a eevee. But it would be risky he also thought he hovered over the eevee and brashly said “no” 0 players like this post! Like? |
