opossum The idea for this event was really ambitious in the first place, so no problem ^^ You buy the item, choose any Pokémon you want, and if you're sure you want to request a design for it, you can fill out the form in the lobby like how you did with the starter! The difference between Custom Ticket and Promise Flower is that if you request a design for the Pokémon you get from them, the one from the ticket will count towards your design limit (currently still 3), whilst the flower does not, (so even if you get a design of the Pokémon you get from the flower, your design limit is still 3 even though you already have 2 designs! i.e your starter + the custom Pokémon from the flower ^^) 0 players like this post! opossum - Main Quest "No? Uhm, okay." The eevee turns away to go do whatever errands they had in mind, leaving Gatto to storm over his thoughts. This Seraph was the only one he had a chance at digging that information out, it might be risky, but there's was no other option. Gatto brooded over his decisions a bit too long, and the eevee was no longer anywhere in sight. With a huge sigh, Gatto shakes his head and slumps away back to the village square. Going through the village, at the very least, infused him with a little bit of his motivation back. Seeing all these happy faces, the persian had to at least try. He hadn't known these Pokémon long, but seeing the Seraph leaving this island to the clutches of evil Pokémon, it seemed unthinkable to him. The persian decided once and for all, he'd risk his livelihood to protect the village. And the first step was to go and find that eevee. Bursting into a wild gallop, Gatto slinks his away past Pokémon, crates, stalls, and all the way past the village border, where he had seen the eevee cross over. With a giant leap, Gatto crossed over the riven bend and into the wilderness ahead, unkempt and overrun with giant, looming trees. The island's vegetation was unlike any other he's seen before, probably due to the sun above their heads, looming for what feels like hours longer than a day should last. He claws his way through the ferns and low-hanging branches ahead of him. He could catch a faint whiff of that eevee, who smelt of the incense they burn in the council-house, but he caught another scent a little less familiar to him. Was that blood? Gatto hoped fervently that it wasn't. A lot of things smelt like blood. Rust, perhaps, like the one covering the walls of the clocktower back in the village? But that didn't make much sense, the area around the clocktower was abandoned, it was unlikely that this random Seraph eevee would bother wandering around somewhere like that. Unfortunately, there was one thing he couldn't dispute. After running a while, Gatto finally checks to see why his paws were so cold. Looking down, he couldn't believe his eyes, his paws were slightly tainted red on all four. It wasn't his blood, that's for sure, his paws were just fine. Then he notices the tiny droplets of red liquid dotting the grass and moss on the forest floor. Gatto gulped, he had to hurry. This wasn't a matter of finding that information anymore, someone could've been hurt. His paws thudded onto the ground like thunder. Gatto ran so fast he was a blur, weaving amongst the trees. The scent was getting stronger now, overwhelming his senses with the strong tang of iron. Somewhere above, he hears the flutter of wings. Small ones. The persian doesn't stop running, but he heaves a brief sigh of relief, "Murkrow, good timing!" He calls out and the murkrow caws in greeting. "I sensed it too. Something's wrong in the air, so I came running and look at who I find," he calls down. 'Ironic, I'm the one running here," Gatto thinks, but keeps to himself. "Up ahead, to the right!" The murkrow caws, and Gatto follows suit. The two of them reach the end of the forest only to burst out to a deserted beach. No krabby in sight, or pelipper. There were only two Pokémon there, the eevee they had been looking for, and the dragonite. Gatto instantly lost all his steam, would she fight him? If that happened, there was no way the two of them could be making it out of here alive. Even murkrow couldn't outfly a dragonite. But it was too late, they were here now, and both the dragonite and eevee were looking straight at them. The persian tries a softer approach first, feigning innocence, Gatto was about to speak when the dragonite cut him off, "You," she booms, but instead of Gatto, her eyes were locked onto Murkrow. Then she whips her head so fast Gatto flinches. The dragonite is turned to the eevee, who Gatto now notices has a long, red streak across their cheek. "See that? Your one job was to apprehend that silly, little bird. We had it all set up perfectly. You knew exactly where he was, why didn't you catch him?" The eevee briefly glances at Gatto, and he realises now that him meeting Murkrow must've caused the eevee to lose track of him. There was no way they could've caught up to them that night in the dark, eevees didn't have the best vision at night. The persian awaited his impending doom. However, surprising Gatto, the eevee remained silent. They could've easily ratted out Gatto to defend themselves and they didn't. The dragonite snarls, "Such a pathetic, useless creature you are, get out of my sight!" She doesn't even let the eevee run away before she raises her claws to the air, ready to strike. Gatto didn't have time to decide, to plan, to make up his mind like he had been doing the entire morning, just a quick flex in his leg muscles, and he was already barreling towards the Seraphs. Murkrow apparently had the same idea, because he dove towards the dragonite, fluttering wind into her eyes, effectively tampering with her sight. Without his diversion, Gatto would've been split in two considering how hard the dragonite slammed down her claws onto the sand. Instead the persian and eevee were safe a whole five feet afar after Gatto pushed them out of the way. But the effect was temporary, and Murkrow had to fly away to dodge the plume of red fire that burst out of Dragonite's maw. Enraged, the Dragon-type didn't bother with coherent words, instead reverting to a deafening roar that sent Gatto and the eevee flying. When Gatto got himself back up on his feet, he sees Murkrow flying past him overhead, repeating one word, "Run!" The persian picks up the eevee onto their feet and ran. The dragonite was hot on their tails, but the dense forest might slow her down. Picking their way through brambles and vines, the trio darted away to try and escape the raging Dragon, and as suspected, she was forced to fly over the forest. Gatto cursed his shiny coat for once, it was much to bright to do any good camouflaging him in the dark, green overgrowth. Occasionally, he checked the skies to see if the dragonite was still hunting for them, and she was always there, her vicious eyes watching. Gatto was about to fall over when the eevee calls out to him, "Follow me!" Murkrow and Gatto immediately followed them, anything to escape this nightmarish scenario. The three darts behind some trees, hidden under thick foliage. And then, after a bit of wriggling, the eevee pushes off a slab of stone that was hiding a hidden entrance underneath it. They all dive in, unquestioningly, and seal the entrance as quickly as possible. Roars echo across the forest for a long time. There were sounds of thunderous footsteps, once even very close to their hiding spot. They could hear what seemed like a tree being uprooted and then thrown away. But eventually, the sounds fade away and disappear. Gatto would've liked to go out and check, but the other two urged he stay hidden, for at least a little bit longer. He didn't realise it, but the whole time Gatto had been clutching the bell on his collar, keeping it from making noise, he could feel the sharp point of the bell digging into his paws but he didn't dare let go. Eventually, they all loosened up a bit. The eevee whispered a thank you and Gatto nods in return. "What was that all about?" He asks, staring at the scratch marks on the eevee's cheek, he would've tried to help clean and patch it up, but there was nothing he could use to do that at the moment. The Seraph points their head to Murkrow, "Dragonite framed him for theft so I could catch him. Because of the recent rumours, she wanted to build up a little bit of our reputation back, so if she could show the villagers even a tiny eevee Seraph like me could apprehend a criminal, the Seraphs can totally be trusted. Of course, all the wanted criminals right now are big, stronger Pokémon, so she had to find someone else that I could capture easily." Murkrow raised a brow at this, but said nothing. Gatto nodded, "I get it now. Dragonite was angry you didn't catch Murkrow in time," he paused, "Then, I ask, why didn't you say I was at fault? You must've seen me back in the Watching Tree." The eevee shakes his head, "Well, as much as I hate to say it, I didn't do it to protect you," they admitted, "A kirlia told me to skip over that little detail when I was going to report back to Dragonite, I don't know why, but she was very adamant about it, so I did as she told me to." Ah, that kirlia. Speaking of which, Gatto was harshly reminded of his task at hand. Considering the situation, Eevee must've had a severe disdain for the Seraphs, right? Gatto had his doubts, but he promised himself he would take the risk, and so he did. "Eevee, can you tell me? What's the Seraph's weakness?" The eevee's face remained still, as if they weren't shocked one bit. Their eyes met Gatto's and he could see the truth behind the words they were about to say, "We Seraph have our own little secret. You see, we're nothing special. That story about being messengers from the Sunne Pokémon? It's a lie." Murkrow and Gatto just stood there, processing this fact. Gatto didn't take long to accept it as fact, but murkrow was confused, "So, that means, Honchkrow is also just a regular Pokémon?" He shut his eyes closed in remembrance, "But, he's done so many phenomenal things! He could summon the strongest gales of wind with just a flap of his wings, he could fly for days without breaking a sweat, is there any normal Pokémon that could do that?" Eevee shakes their head again sympathetically, "Well, it's true that we Seraph are gifted a little more power than others, but those things are regular stuff a particularly strong Honchkrow can pull off." Gatto considers it, it does make sense, but that Dragonite, she seemed unstoppable, "How about Dragonite? I've heard the stories that once she summoned a beam of light from the skies." Eevee giggles, "Hey, you can totally do the same thing, you're a persian. With enough training you could pull it off, it's a move called Hyper Beam, it's powerful but nothing special." Gatto stares, wide-eyed. So this whole time, they've been entrusting the security of the village...to just regular folks? Gatto pulled himself together. If that was the case, then they really didn't have to rely solely on Seraphs, there were plenty of strong Pokémon back in the village, and Seraphs like Dragonite clearly don't have the village's best interests in mind. Gatto took a deep breath, "I have a plan." > Recruited: Seraph Eevee > Received: 2 > Received: x1 Evolve Charm An amulet imbued with strong energy. Evolves Pokémon. Next main quest may be revealed on May 11th 06:00 PST or sometime later! opossum - Side Quest #2 - 'The Colour Shop' The stall is crowded with plenty of Pokémon waiting in line, chatting with one another and discussing something in excited chatter. However, as soon as Gatto gotten close enough to clearly see them all, he notices something strange. Most of them were Shiny Pokémon! Gatto was now intrigued, he looked at the owner of the stall, a smeargle readying cups of paint on his workbench. The persian goes up to one of the Pokémon waiting in line, "Excuse me, can you tell me what this is all about?" The shiny pidgey squawks, "That smeargle over there, she's a revolutionary, Shiny Pokémon come to her to get themselves normal colours, and the other Pokémon come here to get themselves a shiny, new coat of colour!" Huh? That's...not exactly what he had in mind. Gatto watched as the smeargle's first customer got their fur painted, apparently it's supposed to be permanent, or at least long-lasting. When she's done, the Pokémon looks nothing like they previously did, gleaming streaks of obsidian-black adorn their coat, the previous purple hues in their fur now gone, replaced with saffron yellow. "Why would they do that?" He thought aloud, sure the stripes were pretty, but well, it's hard to imagine himself ever giving up his calico markings. "Well, I suppose they feel left out," the pidgey says, "I certainly don't find any reason I should keep my odd, icky blue feathers." Gatto hums, "I personally think they look pretty, when you fly, I'm sure you blend together with the sky." The pidgey gets flustered and turns away, "Well, I'm sure Pokémon have their reasons." Gatto chuckles and looks around, "I rarely see a lot of Shiny Pokémon gathered in one place." The pidgey agrees, "Yes, I do admit myself, I can't think of any reason they'd give up such beautiful colours," than he whispers, "That swanna with the black feathers, isn't she gorgeous? Who do you like the most?" Gatto thinks on it, > The Shiny Swanna, > The Shiny Blitzle, > or, the Shiny Dragonair? 0 players like this post! Like? hecc yea! also pff, when Eevee tries to speak ominously everyone's just like- "aww look at this cute lil' fella" opossum - Side Quest #2 - 'The Colour Shop' "The dragonair?" The pidgey squints and Gatto points them out. When the pidgey finally spots them, his eyes widen, "Wow, yeah, those scales look pretty." The dragonair lifts their head to look at the staring duo and they both look away, but to their dismay, the snake-like Pokémon slithers up to them instead. "Hey, uh, do you really mean that?" They ask softly, "What you said about my scales?" The pidgey nods, albeit shyly. Gatto nods as well, "Well, if I ever had to, I'd ask that smeargle to paint me to look just like you." The dragonair looks confused and sighs, "Well, now I'm more troubled. I can't decide wether to get myself painted blue or stay... like this." The dragonair refers to herself in disdain. "I do like my scales. They look just like my mother's. I just wish they didn't make my friends so sad." The pidgey and Gatto tilts their heads simultaneously, "How so?" The persian felt like he was pushing his luck, but the dragonair answers anyways, "Oh, they all always say how they wish they could look like me. They're always putting themselves down and I can't help but feel at fault." The pidgey coos in understanding. Gatto never really gave much thought to his pelt, he supposed that the Pokémon around him where he came from never really gave it much consideration. One compliment every now and then, he recalled, but nothing else. He starts carefully, Gatto had never been good at words but he gave it his best shot, "Well, getting rid of your colours can't be the answer. Your friends must look up to you a lot, besides, if my friend got rid of something unique to them for my sake, I'd just feel bad." Hearing this, the dragonair just looked even more upset. Gatto scrambled for words to comfort them, "Think of it this way. Why do you stay friends with them? There must be some internal quality they possess that you find solace in. Isn't that what counts?" The dragonair nods, "That's true, they're all very kind, loving Pokémon. They're like family to me. But I just can't seem to make them realise that." The pidgey says carefully, "Have you ever told them this?" At that, the dragonair pauses. They look off somewhere into the distance before turning back towards the two, "I guess when I was younger, I was lot more bratty back then. I'd gotten a big head about being the 'unique' one. I'd always brag on and on about it, I must've been such a jerk. But my friends kept with me, and I'm eternally grateful for that. But I think I've never apologised for that," the dragonair pauses, "Ah. I think I finally see the issue." Gatto nodded in approval, "Yeah, I think you've got it." The dragonair curses at themself and turns to the two of them, "Thank you, truly." And before the pidgey or Gratto could put in a word of good luck, the dragonair was lost to the crowds. Gratto said his farewells to the pidgey and walked off to go and lounge on his usual perch in the village square. It wasn't until twilight when he stood up to leave for the inn. He jumped down the stairs two at a time and nearly crashed into a Pokémon. He quickly twisted his body to left, causing him to swerve out of the way. "Woah, sorry about that," and then he looked up to see, "Dragonair?" They nodded and Gratto noticed that their cheeks were lined with dried, tear lines. "Oh, what perfect timing! I wanted to thank you, uh-" "Gratto." "Yes! Uhm, thank you, Gratto. I had a good, long talk with my friends. This weird thing between us isn't quiet, well, fixed yet. But, I think we're getting somewhere, and that's all I could've hoped for." The dragonair gave him a small smile, the happiest he'd seen them since they met. "I heard you're in an exploration team, could I be a part of it? If it weren't for you, I'm not sure I'd be that happy looking like someone else. I'm proud of who I am, I just had to let go of some of that ego for once." Gatto agrees, well, no harm in having another party in the crew. > Recruited: Shiny Dragonair 0 players like this post! opossum's version of 'Wrath of The Sun' After a long, long wait, Gatto had gotten tired of waiting, plus he was starting to feel his back getting sore after a while hunched over. "Do you think it's safe now?" He tries to stretch out but just hits a wall. Eevee nods and gestures to the other two to follow them. In the dark, the three carefully make a climb down a steep wall of rock. At the bottom, a sliver of light peaked from underneath a boulder suspended by two smaller rocks, looking like it could topple over at any time. The eevee darts underneath it to the other side and calls out, "Come on! It's safe." Krow, as fast as an arrow, shoots through to the other side. Gatto, however, was still weighing his options. Eevee and Krow call to him from the other side, and finally, Gatto brashly slinks through. However, he was a tad bit too big and as soon as he makes it out the other side, the three run away as fast as they could as the boulder toppled right over. It hit the sand and rolled away into the waters, leaving the entrance to the cove exposed. "Well, we made it," Gatto mutters out loud. They all shake off any sand and nod to one another. Gatto laid out their plan back in the cave, and each of them had a crucial role to play. The plan was to have a sort of, tournament, you could say. Gatto needed to prove everyone in the village that they could be just as capable as Seraphs to defend their own village and no longer have to pay for the Seraphs' indifference. So now, they just had to somehow convince those Seraphs to agree to this. Krow took off first. He had to explain the plan Gatto had in mind to Honchkrow, there was a specific part he had to play, and well, Gatto didn't doubt for one second Honchkrow's, uhm, theatrical skills. Eevee was next, to spread the word of the tournament. If the villagers were expecting a match, it was unlikely the Seraphs would decline in fear of suspicion. Gatto was last. He was going to have to gather up challengers for the tournament, obviously. He just hoped he could find enough on time. In the village square, on his perch, Gatto looks around the village square. But this time around, he had no time to relax, he needed to act, quick. "Hey, Gatto!" Gatto whipped around to see that it was Dragonair, right on time. "Dragonair, I need your help." When Gatto was done explaining, the dragonair looked a bit confused, obviously the persian had expected this, he knew how difficult it was to be convinced something you thought you knew as fact to be untrue. However, Dragonair finally agrees, "I'll help you. I can't quiet believe you completely, but, I know you're at least a good Pokémon. Besides, I can't exactly argue with all the bad Pokémon I've seen lately, something must be done." The dragonair smiles at the persian and slithers off to spread the word of the tournament to their friends, which in turn, would spread the news even further. Gatto just needed two more battlers. He looked around, and spotted an electrike. The persian ran up to him, though he couldn't be as outright as he was with Dragonair. "Hey, have you heard about the tournament going on?" He started. The electrike turns to him, looking eager, "Yeah! Sounds awesome, I've never actually seen Seraphs in action up close." Gatto nods quickly, as if he was just as excited, "Hey, tell you what, you look like a battler, you want to try your hand at a fight?" The electrike stops to consider it, but it doesn't take any longer for him to agree. 'Yes!' Gatto was getting optimistic, maybe they could actually pull it off. An electric-type like this electrike was ideal for his plan. Now, just one more fighter. The persian looks around the crowds. Such harmony this village radiates, Pokémon of all kinds gather here as one, Gatto couldn't help it. He had to pull this off. Now, all it took was one more Pokémon. Please choose a Pokémon, anything you'd like! They can be shiny or possess unique features, but they cannot be Seraphs. 0 players like this post! Like? |
