Hello - The name for this account is ZeroGravity but usually online I go by Zero, Xanax or Satan. Though of course I don’t mind being referred to by something different if someone’s not comfortable with the ones listed above or if they are already in use.

I am Non-Binary and go by They/Them pronouns but I don’t mind the occasional use of He/Him either. I am Asexual and I am currently trying to figure out my romantic orientation at the moment though I’m pretty confident it falls somewhere near Aromantic. I have a pet snake, ball python specifically, named Ocho because the designs on his scales forms an 8 or an infinity sign - he’s my little baby and he’s been amazing support while I prepare for my ACT Test in about 20 days time. I’m not sure if this introduction is too long or if I overshared but I’m a bit nervous and I hope this was enough. Thank you!!

That’s a complete relief!! When I wrote it out I really did agonize over the length and how much was in it.
Oh and an ACT is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. Basically I’m just taking a big test on four major subjects to help with admissions into college! Sorry for how long it took for me to reply - I just woke up so I hope this was easy to understand considering I wrote it in a groggy state lol.

It is completely understandable, so in a sense it sort of like our GCSEs in the UK, we have different amount of tests for each of the subjects we’re taking and that’s what will usually get us into college

Yes it is in a way almost exactly like the GCSEs in the UK! Here in the US the ACT is a timed test on four major subjects those being; English, Mathematics, Reading and Science + an optional writing portion. Are the GCSEs in the UK also timed? Do they cover the same subjects as the ACT or do they cover different subjects? You don’t have these questions of course especially if they make you uncomfortable - I’m just extremely curious to hear more!!

Yes they are, usually about 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours.
mostly yes, we have 2 papers in maths - calculator and non-calculator, i think 3 science paper - biology, chemistry, & physics, then we have 2 english papers - literature and language
the literature paper is usually where we did memorising of a shakespeare's work, and the language is where we usually can do our creative writing section
and depending on the other subjects you take will depend on if you have an exam or not, but yeah, i took mostly course work with minimal exams, im not good with them 😅

So your exams are around the same time length as the ones here! I don’t think their is much deference between the ones in the US and the ones in the UK other than a few select things.
I really am happy that you took time out of your day to explain this to me!! I enjoy learning new things especially if it’s something/somewhere outside of the US, makes it feel more exciting for some reason. I worried that some of my sentences or words would come off strangely/rudely just because it’s hard to express tone when reading it through texts and I struggle with tone IRL as well so I just didn’t want to come off as patronizing in any way. Could try usin tone indicators,, I have a hard time with tones (both irl and though text) and they help make sure I get my point across with out comin off as rude or patronizing(especially /nm(not mean) and /gen(genuine)),,

Tho from my experience, you might have to explain them the first time usin them with someone just because they are more popular among neurodivergent (autistic, ADHD, etc) communities,, Most people will be fine with them and will use em when textin you back,,
