Posted on 2022-07-01 17:15:04
Community UpdateAside from monthly event news posts and the 2nd Friday of each month being focused on art/coding updates, all other Fridays are centered around the community! Official Lioden RaffleLINK - This is our official community update raffle. Everyone gets a chance to win a rare prize, plus something extra for any runner ups. These raffles have a very minimal ticket price, and there is a limit of 1 ticket per account to make it fair! Good luck! This raffle will automatically end on 2022-07-08 00:00:00. Event Adjustments* The cost of steps in Celestial Explore has been reduced from 5 Meteorite Shards per step to 2 Meteorite Shards per step. * There is now a higher chance of finding Meteorite Shards whilst exploring than other July event encounters (Apedemak vs Apollyon, finding Menhit, etc.). * We have added a second poll to the Polls page asking how we should adjust the Celestial Explore enemies, so please be sure to vote on which adjustment you'd prefer. Tefnut's Memories ReminderTefnut's Memories (aka Tefnut's Temple) is still part of the July event and will show up on the Event tab starting on July 2nd. It still has the same mechanics to open (donating items and/or SB) and still contains all items as it did previously. The items that you can purchase once the shop is open can be viewed on the Lioden Wiki here: https://www.lioden.wiki/july#tefnuts_memories Begging and the Giving TreeIt seems that parts of the community have some confusion and uncertainty where they believe that players asking for Giving Tree drops in Main Chat falls under begging. To help clear up some confusion, we would like to formally announce to everyone that we do not consider players asking for Giving Tree drops as them begging for assets. When currency, items, and lions are left to the Giving Tree, everyone has an equal chance to pick these assets up—there is no guarantee that a player who asks for GB or cubs to be dropped to the Giving Tree will pick up these assets from the Giving Tree. To give benefit of doubt, some players may even ask for others to drop assets in order to spur a "Tree Drop" that they would also participate in. We will not moderate players asking for Giving Tree drops unless they are excessively demanding Giving Tree drops, or otherwise breaking our rules regarding begging, e.g. saying something along the lines of, "Does anyone have any spare GB I could have? Can you drop it at the tree?" or "Can I have your unwanted adolescents? I'll take them from the tree too!" We hope this helps alleviate confusion moving forward! If you happen to see our staff team punishing players for asking for Giving Tree drops, please PM a site admin (a list can be found at the bottom of our Contact Us page) or use the Contact Us form to email our Support Team, but keep in mind that punishments are not always visible and there may be additional context to the situation that normal players do not have. Permanent Moderator Applications ReminderWe'd like to take a moment to remind everyone that our voluntary moderator applications are permanently open and can be found at the bottom of the Modbox, or through this direct link: Moderator Application Form If you're the type that strives to better your community and you want to help Lioden be the best site it can be, we'd love for you to apply! Keep in mind that you must be at least 18 years of age and have played Lioden for at least 6 months in order for us to consider your application. Raffle LionessCongrats to the winner of last week's raffle lioness! A new Smog lady with Algae Rogue (NEW!), Algae Margay, and the eleventh Himba Village background is up for impressing in the Special Lioness area linked here! Ngl My enjoyment over this event is gone, and my feeling of excitment over new event has changed to dullness and emptiness. There is no longer any enjoyment over exploring when you can just click one button for an hour, get 100s of cores and double my shards. The event basically devolved into fancy cookie clicker with dragons and space. There is no enjoyment over celestial exploring knowing i don't need to do anything else than click the button and maybe beat dragons if I feel like it and there is no reason to spend time in normal explore either when you can gain way more shards in celestial explore than in normal one... This event has gone from one of my favorites to one of my least favorites and it truly makes me feel sad that I just want August to come already so it can end 0 players like this post! Like? |

Sutittaja, the event has gone down to the bottom last year, it needs adjustments that admins seem very reluctant to give out, for some reason. So many actions taken - returning the storyline, increasing the shard drop rate - but not the one, actually needed, step?! It was the same last year, too! It would have fixed everything, from the beginning of the first event revamp last year. Just remove both those special traits from dragons. Make them normal enemies. Make them stop being overpowered. That's all it took to make it enjoyable again, from the beginning of event revamp last year event. To make it worth it to battle those dragons, not a waste of time and shards. But it was never looked into last year, and again this year... enemies are still hitting like a truck. And still... a poll, but no action for another week? I am confused as to WHY admins are SO adamant on keeping the dragons almighty and hitting for 25+ damage for several stunning moves in a row. Even the poll is an either-or question, when its obviously those dragons should be stripped of BOTH those overwhelming powers. Could we get any official comment on this? WHY are admins so clinging to keeping enemies SO overwhelmingly powerful? What is the greater meaning of loosing 90% of battles? WHY are they so much against the idea of simply making the enemies weaker? Until the overpowered enemies are nerfed a lot, I cannot possibly engage in any battles with them, so I cannot even start trying out those new changes properly! I have made a few explore attempts but as long as Im terrified of even attempting to fight an enemy, its really impossible to tell if that shard rate is good, too much, or too little, to reliably work on getting axion cores. Im feeling this is the core of all the issues with the event balance. Until enemies are fixed, other balance cannot be attuned - BUT enemy fix keeps getting pushed back, with other fixes coming before it... ending in a loop. Balance is off -> things are changed but not the core issue -> balance is still off -> more changes but the core. It will only go on the route of finally reaching the perfect balance once overpowered almighty dragons are stripped of their unfair abilities and made normal enemies. I dont know what else to say to underline the need to nerf the overpowered dragons. I kept saying it last year, supported every suggestion, commented constructive criticism, this year too... but nothing I say seem to go through Its like admins are specifically filtering out everything that concerns enemy power, and only consider other suggestions. 0 players like this post! @Mad Hyena, Whether it’s my stats or strategy, I’m winning ~70% of the fights, and most of the losses are against bosses. Because of the infinite shards, people like me have an IMMENSE advantage over people like you who aren’t winning battles. Last night I leveled, and right now my Exp in my current level is sitting at 15,831. I’m at 8% at level 43. I do not normally gain that much in a day, or even 2-3 days, and I’ve earned that much in less than 3 hours of play. If I play all day, I’ll be able to level again. Which is ridiculous given my current level, and would award me with a ton of stats, which would only further my advantage if stats matter against these enemies. That’s not even getting into the fact that I’m getting SB every time I win. I think this is the more immediate issue. Making the battles easier first would only open the floodgates and potentially cause massive inflation. 0 players like this post! Like? |

That's the reason of me being upset, Before. That enemies needed to be made weaker, and THEN maybe any meteor shard rates adjusted. It was that way from day 1 last year, when event was enabled. But for some reason... every suggestion BUT the enemy power gets implemented, and admins keep ignoring and ignoring enemy overpowered issue. I cant understand why, and it drives me more and more frustrated with each new tweak. Making the enemies loose their unfair abilities should have been the FIRST edit ever done to the event, but look, a year and some and its STILL not attempted. Even now, the poll asks if its either-or of the abilities need to be removed, when BOTH of those need to removed, to even hold a chance of being "fair" battles. 0 players like this post! Like? Stats don't matter, it's entirely made up of rng, but that doesn't discredit the fact that these enemies are way too much. A lot of them can bite you for a fourth of your health, grab you or stunlock you, even when they fix the issue with infinite shards, it doesn't change the fact the MAIN aspect of the event is still broken from last I don't understand why you DON'T want easier battles. Hell the 5 to 2 step for shards isn't bad either, just lower the amount of shards you can get in celestial explore and boom it's back fixed 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah. Admins for some reason keep missing the fact that the overpowered enemies ARE the issue? Or maybe they turn a blind eye to it purposedly, feeling along the lines of "Dragons are big and strong, they're meant to be unbeatable - lets try other fixes instead before we go against our beliefs and make dragons weak!" Sorry if I sound harsh. But that is what it feels like. That admins adore the idea of "powerful" dragons so much, that they're willing to go through circles of hell trying other things before they change the power of the legendary dragons to be something less epic. Sadly, the issue is still the issue. When people get stressed from battling overpowered dragons, that stress wont go away until the dragons are stripped out of the excess power, and are made into, battlable enemies. And other fixes help a bit, relieving some of the frustration, but the core issue still stands, generating more frustration 0 players like this post! Like? I’m not against easier battles. I’m against infinite currency sources in a game that’s not balanced around it. Either or both of the poll options would be okay with me. It’d remove some of the fun (as you actually need to pay attention to what’s going on, unlike regular Explore enemies), but it’s not like it’s that fun. And stun is just unfun even if you are good at fighting and that would not be missed. The more immediate threat to gameplay balance is the fact that you can fight infinitely right now, though. It’s not a one-or-the-other thing, but if they change the battle mechanics first, there’d be a flood of SB into the market beyond what’s happening now. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Eh, SB flood wouldnt be much of an issue - battling only award 2-5 SB per, its not too much so I wouldnt worry about infinite battles with it. The poll anyway goes for a week so, nothing will be changed until the development update next friday. Until then? Im fine keeping the infinite shards mechanics. At least it gives a small bit of axion cores if you're willing to fight through the grind. And if enemies still dont get nerfed, that will be the source of axion cores without having to fight through the waves of unbeatable enemies. At this point, I am just feeling incredibly relived I DONT have to fight those invincible, almighty monsters. I love their art - but I hate their gameplay, so I would 1000% rather scroll past a battle than engage with one and be defeated miserably. I really miss the Cloud Forest. Where we could just look at a pretty art and get 2-8 currency per 30 minutes something. I would so much rather look at the pretty dragons admiring them and get currency for it, than glare at them passing by with hate, knowing I cannot defeat it so its no use even trying. 0 players like this post! 2-5 SB? I just went through a few fights and got 7 most of the time, 4 at the least, and I’ve gotten 11 from bosses. It adds up. Not necessarily quickly, but a whole lot quicker than the game’s balanced for. They’ve made mid-week tweaks before, usually when there’s a major bug or balance issue. I’m actually surprised they didn’t change anything before I got up this morning. But I guess if they’re not going to change it, I’ll take advantage while I can. See how high level I can get my lion before I retire him at the end of next week. 0 players like this post! Like? |
