Yeah, socialization is super important, my mixed rescue pup immediately went to daycare with me and learned proper socialization, and he's amazing, never once shown any aggression. He is super anxious, and aggression can definitely come with that, but when a dog is properly socialized, it really lowers that chance. I wish more people did research :/ 0 players like this post! It's honestly a bit of a shock how many little doggos aren't properly socialized. Somehow, because they're small and cute it doesn't matter that they have small and sharp fangs that can go for your face... (Because you're holding them....) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah! My pit is the sweetest thing in the world. She was raised to respect other animals and kids as well as adults. The little chihuahuas that walk down the street are more aggressive than my pit lmao 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah, the small dogs are way worse than the big dogs. People also don't seem to care about the body language of the small dogs, they just keep messing with them despite their warning signs, and then get upset when they get bit. It's really kinda sad :( 0 players like this post! Like? |

It's sad how many dog owners that have dogs that attack someone else's dog say "oh well your dog started it. It walked up to my dog blah blah blah". People should have their dogs used to other animals. And if you bring your dog out to a dog park, public space or day care, etc. If it isn't socialized, just don't bring it in general- there's always the risk of the dog getting triggered by something 0 players like this post! It is. I've seen plenty of little dogs pick fights with bigger dogs. It's all "funny" and "cute" when the little dog bites the bigger one. But once that bigger dog fights back, it is labeled as a dangerous threat :l 0 players like this post! Like? |

Absolutely, dog owners just need to do more research in general. Body language, socialization, good/bad corrections. Idk, there's just so many problems with dog parks like that, I don't take mine to dog parks at all for that reason. Daycare is a much better way to socialize because they're being supervised by trained people who know body language and dog temperaments. I think dog parks are too risky. 0 players like this post! This also is the same argument with children. Many adults do not teach their children how to respect an animal and more treat animals like toys so in return their children do so aswell. I've been in public and seen how a few dog owners have their dog playing safely and some kid will come up- pull their ears/tail then run when the dog even growls or set boundaries. I used to have a tea-cup, she was a rescue and some brat came by and picked her up without asking to just drop her. If you know small dogs you know the dangers of big falls- she was alright but she bit the kid and this crotch goblins mom- Karen came up screaming abt her walking std and how my dog attacked him when he almost broke her legs. 0 players like this post! My grandfather had two pits I grew up around. The first was a big pit named Zena. Big dog, she looked terrifying but she was an amazing dog. She never had problems. The second one was a pit named Madea that was rescued and she was aggressive (about a year or two after he got her) and attacked one of the other pups. It's all how the dogs were brought up. I honestly believe a lot of the pit stereotypes are bullcrap. A lot of the owners have the mindset of "I want a big terrifying mean dog that will attack someone if they mess with me". I say this because I had a family member that had that mindset and didn't treat the pup right (my dog actually. She is mine now). She antagonized Bella (my dog) constantly. Lunging at her and pulling away, speaking in very loud tones to her making her scared, threatening to hit her with things. I treat her VERY differently and she's been doing great 0 players like this post! Like? |
