before i kick this off, i want to say i have scoliosis, and would have likely died if i hadn’t received my surgery. i have also read about people who had scoliosis much worse than i did, and nearly did die. i have also checked to see if it was suggested before, and i found MAYBE two posts from a while ago mentioning it edit: and as #313347 said, it would help give this game a bit more representation for people like myself who have scoliosis and love lions and lioden! SO, WHAT IS SCOLIOSIS? scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine, usually in an “S” or “C” shape. it commonly occurs in humans but can occur in other animals, such as dogs, horses, rats, fish, snakes or house cats (closest to our beloved lions). therefore, it could likely occur in lions, but i don’t think any cases have been documented. at least i couldn’t find any IS SCOLIOSIS EVEN A MUTATION? simply googling this question reveals it is genetic and hereditary, which causes me to believe it is a mutation. not 100% sure, but let’s say yes edit: as #313347 stated, anything different genetically can be considered a mutation! eye colors etc SO HOW WOULD IT SHOW IN LIODEN? currently, deaf is the only lethal that doesn’t have a 100% chance to kill your lion during the cub stage. i think scoliosis would kill when your lion turns 2, due to being unable to breathe due to their spine and ribs squeezing their lungs. the cubs could look normal, but i think it would start to show in adolescence. if you used the falcon’s eye to check for a mutation in a seemingly normal cub, it would say it has scoliosis, but it still wouldn’t be visible until adolescence, much like how scoliosis can be caught early. if you don’t support, please tell me why! and if you have any ideas or constructive criticism, please feel free to share! i would love to see this in lioden :) |

I love this idea! I think more representation for people with genetic conditions is important. While not many like the term mutation irl, I think it best fits in the animal kingdom, because if you think about it most everything genetic is a mutation. Different eye colors and such are technically mutations. So YES YES YES all for people feeling seen, even if it's just their condition being available in lioden! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Definitely support! :D Though I would also like to add that just having scoliosis doesn't necessarily mean you're likely to die, it has a wide range of severity and lots of people and animals born with it are able to live normal lives. For simplification in game, it could be lethal at 2. But to make things more interesting, maybe there's a chance (less than 50%?) of it being not lethal. Health updates similar to the ones for deaf lions could indicate whether or not the adolescent will die upon aging up. Adult lions with the mutation get unique flavor text. (i.e. "You see Lion staring worriedly at their reflection in a pond. You ask them what's wrong and they express concern that their uneven hips make them seem odd. You nuzzle them and assure them they're perfect they way they are." or "When you greet Lion this morning, they grumble that they slept poorly because of back pain.") Lions with the mutation could also get a randomized stat nerf at birth, perhaps they could lose anywhere from 10-50% of their inherited Agility, Stamina, and Strength stats? Since warping of the rib cage can reduce lung capacity, and twisting of the spine can cause back weakness and uneven hips that effect a person or animal's gait. 6 players like this post! Like? |

I support! I have Scoliosis as-well, I think it would be interesting to have lions with scoliosis, I’d hope this could get added in the future! It’s an amazing idea. 0 players like this post! Like? |

While I like the idea, I have a question. While there are a lot of none lion mutations/mutie recos, this is on the more simplistic level. So has there been a case of scoliosis for lions or felines in general? 0 players like this post! Like? |
