Aspen was sniffing her new bandage, which she thought smelled like fox. Not Mystique specificlly, just fox. Is that her? Eh. She nodded in thanks to Mystique. to her dismay, she still smelled fox. Closer now. She bristled and growled low, catching the attention of Andromeda, who came over and licked Aspen's fur flat until she smelled the fox as well. She looked around. Nervous at first. Then she thought, maybe they come in peace? Ember smelled the fox as well, and she left Bat's side to investigate. She made sure to tell him where she was going.

Ember grabbed Bat by the scruff and dropped him in front of Mystique. "There's someone unfamiliar, and we would like to make sure they're not dangerous. Could you make sure he's ok?"

Thalia p.o.v:

Thalia’s tail flickered with a wary curiosity as she smelt a familiar scent— Thallo, as her minds raced with thoughts fleeting as fast as her paws ran across the dirt floor; could it have been perhaps a creature whom mauled on Thallo and therefore smelt like her?

Perhaps it was something different, but just as morbid— she didn’t possibly know as she wasn’t there herself and had no way to find out, so, her body reacted in the only sound way, to her instincts, at least— to light aflame, casting out smoke and embers so high that it was a miracle the forest didn’t catch on fire due to the heat bursting from her body, which should have already burnt her to death and then to a crisp had it not been for her immunity.

A horrid smell emitted from her body as she ran, one of fire and smoke mixed with her own sweat and blood, from the wounds that still oozed with thick redness, which were only worsened as she continue to run and lose her breath and cough; she was immune to fire, not the smoke that came along with it and filled her lungs overtime, especially with how big they had begun to grow due to her unstable state of being.

‘ is she all right, what if someone hurt her, if- if the others were with her and I can’t sense them. .,’ she didn’t want to finish that sentence, to mourn for a death that wasn’t even real, although she couldn’t shake the feeling that it could be, that something was terribly wrong, and that Thallo was in some sort of impending doom that she would happen upon when it was to late, or that she would have to rescue her from.

With her mind racing at a thousand thoughts every millisecond, it was no surprise as she tripped and fell, which wasn’t for long as her body hiccuped along bumps and rocks and stones and clumps of dirt before finally colliding with something— or someone, someone wary and cautious who didn’t catch aflame despite her burning fire, someone who seemed to be of upmost caution to her as Thalia herself: Ember.

Thallo p.o.v:

Her tail flickered, catching the shadows of the flames as she hummed a purr that sweetly escaped from her lips, in and out through the kitten’s ears as it rubbed his body against hers with a soft coo, a purr that merrily put a smile onto Thallo’s face as she admired Bat’s familiar comfort and sweet innocence in a place and time where that was so scarce; even the words were enough to set a wary look upon one’s face.

She hadn’t realized that the shadows that begun to faintly raise in the distance, casting light to everything within a close proximity to them, as she had been to caught up in the intoxicating youth of the young kit, before she was forced to acknowledge the looming flames as they came shooting at her in the form of a fox, a fox on fire, a fox that’s body was completely aflame, s fox that Thallo knew— a fox that sent her body into chills and shivering as she gasped at the sight of the fox thrashing about and yelling. . ,
