While scorching eyes scanned the surrounding territory around him, the Midnight Pack Beta had indeed found nothing. Nothing of concern anyway. With that being said, his solo patrol was officially over. It was time for him to head back to camp, report that nothing had been spotted to the Midnight Pack Alpha, and take a slight break. His back was beginning to ache ever so slightly. Almost as if he had been training prior to his patrol. Odd but Vidar pushed it aside. Just felt sour rather than aching pain, he was sure he'd be fine. Raising his large cranium and turning it to his left, the solid black male began walking forwards. His tail was raised and his legs took wide steps. Overall, it was a steady stride. One of which showed confidence and relaxation. He was at ease, not tense. Very few things could get Vidar tense, it had been like that for years. Vidar knew it was because of his natural stature. Other wolves would have been cautiously alert. He was too, just in his own way.

The Beta only took a couple strides forwards before he froze. His ears immediately perked up at attention. Exciting barking had filled the plains to the right. More specifically, in Sungods territory. His large head would turn to the right once more, a huff escaping his nostrils. Amber hues would go into a squint instinctively, ear flicking at attention. It didn't seem to be getting any closer to his position. Meaning that whoever was the source of that sound was likely not to cross Midnight Pack. Good. The Midnight Pack male would think to himself, brow furrowing. He certainly wasn't in the mood for a fight, especially not with the ache in his back. Still, he knew how upset Bloodborne would be if he didn't locate the source of it. He wouldn't have to face them directly, merely keep a watchful eye on them.

So of course, the colossal wolf did just that. Testing his luck, he'd get closer to the Midnight Pack-Sungods Border and peer out from underneath the trees. Vidar was sure that his naturally dark appearance blended in perfectly with the shades caused by the trees, a trick his former pack taught him but one of which the Midnight Pack reinforced heavily. Stealth. Vidar knew the basics. It wasn't that he needed them per se, but they were like second nature to him. Despite getting closer to the source of the barking, or at least, as close as a Midnight Pack wolf could get, the black brute couldn't locate any wolves that could have potentially made the barking. Safe to say he was right with his initial assumptions, whoever that loud mouth was, they had no intention of crossing Midnight Pack territory.

The large brute of a Beta's attention remained onto the clearing. It remained empty other than the exciting barking emerging from below the hill he was currently looking at. The colossal wolf would have let it slide. In fact, he was close to letting it go entirely. However, when multiple barks joined the original source, Vidar had no other choice but to watch intently. They were growing nearer to his location. The barking had stopped but Vidar was sure of it. Taking a seat down, he observed with great patience. Eventually, his patience paid off as the sight of two canids entered the clearing. One was walking with a slight limp, having a purely snow hued coat that was stained with brown mud. The other was a black wolf with white spotting and legs, having light copper ears. Vidar let out a thoughtful hum as they grew closer. The multi-colored wolf seemed to be on the taller side, taller than the companion who walked with them. A threat to Vidar? Maybe so, likely not.

The pair had entered the clearing, the one that he had been studying with careful amber eyes. In search of the close stream, is what Vidar presumed. If it were a border patrol, there would be more wolves accompanying the two. Huffing, Vidar furrowed his brow thoughtfully. It would be smart for him not to leave his position. If he got any closer, he would be breaking the code placed for their borders. That didn't mean that Vidar couldn't keep an eye out for them though, as long as he remained on his side, nothing bad would come of it. That also didn't mean that he couldn't talk to them. Vidar eventually made his way forward from the trees that were hiding him, revealing his colossal form. One large paw was placed directly on the line that drew their two territories. It was to test them, to press them as much as possible. Vidar was trying to make a point. The Midnight Pack, they had all the power in the world to break the rules. They simply chose not to do it.

"Small patrol. I thought the Sungods knew better than to send so few out and about." The deep and gruff voice rumbled from Vidar's throat as he hardened his amber eyes. "Not only that but the pair of you were laughing like the craziest of hyenas." His eyes would squint to see if he could detect any sort of body language from them. Vidar knew there was one more somewhere around here. There had been three pitches of barks, he wondered if the two wolves would mention anything about it.
