I think its because the event markings on there are a bit broken now! It should be fixed soon maybe? I'm unsure

Do you mean that after you apply the marking it wont show up, or you select a lion and it wont let you click apply? If the drop down to not pick a lion isnt showing up it could be a browser issue. Either way if it has to do with the applicator it's self it is work making a bug report. If it is just the marking not showing up, give it some time. It is common for art to take a moment to be updated after it is added to the game.

Apologies for not being more clear; it won't let me select any empty markings (as in, it shows no empty markings even if they are present - I even added an extra slot to one lion in an attempt to see if it was just a bunch of hidden markings, but nothing.)

It will not let me select a markings slot on lionesses, male lions, or kings alike.

Even then you should still be able to apply it to a lion, mutated or not. If it was on a mutated lion the marking would be there and just not show up yet.

I'm having literally the same issue as you. It seems to be a bug, is Inverted Blemish a new thing? I can't seem to find anything on the wiki about it.
