okay, I’m certain you’ve seen this. “Everyone must go! DM me! Any ones not in unsorted are convince me!” (And of course, there are none in unsorted) I don’t think we should allow things not actually being given away for free to be advertised. It’s a giveaway. We can’t be advertising things that you have to work towards and maybe not even get there. We should only be advertising guaranteed free things (even if it is a F2E raffle or something, as the giveaway is the raffle ticket), not “convince me to give it to you” |

This is new to me, but if it's as described that's crazy. It really is just hidden advertising or showing off This has the same energy as people yelling how they are going to kill all the lions that don't get sold, pulling the empathy and urgency card to hustle people into the sale, I really don't like that either 1 player likes this post! Genuine question as someone who doesn't use any of the chatrooms much: What is the actual point when people do this? Like, what are they getting out of people messaging them asking for a lion and them messaging back no every time? Are they secretly hoping people will offer to buy the lion? Are they just trying to show off? In that case why do some people also threaten to kill the lions in question? I'm very confused  In any case, support no longer allowing it  2 players like this post! in order to get people interested. it's just backhanded selling, and it's really bad (and most of the people that do it are quite rude about it) tbh i've only actually noticed like 2-3 that do it, but they do it so much it's as if 20 were doing it 5 players like this post! Like? |

Yikes. If it's used as veiled/deceptive advertising for actual sales, then that's all the more reason to ban it. Not just time-wasting but also deliberately undermining the whole point of a "giveaway" in the first place. I just saw a "convince me" cave where several of the lions had GB prices in their names. Linking to that in giveaway chat seems like a blatant loophole for advertising sales. It really shouldn't be allowed. 8 players like this post! Like? |
