Palewind The she cat nodded as she groomed her soaked fur.” Hmm? Oh yes I’m fine. Just thinking I guess.” Her ears fell against her head as she thought about what Owlstar had said. Would he have talked to Hemlockshade that way if he had done the same? What about Morningecho? And why did he feel the need to say the fact that they weren’t clan born? She felt a rumble in her chest as she thought about that. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nettlesnap He narrows his eyes and stares at her for a few seconds, genuinely unsure what to do now. The tom flattens his ears back considerably, thinking. Something about Palewind's tone wasn't readable and it made his whiskers twitch irritably. 'Okay.. ' Nettlesnap trailed off uncertainly. 'You dont seem fine.' The tom mutters, concern hinted behind his tone. Was it what the clan leader had said? He could admit owlstar's last sentence was more then a little.. insulting, to say the least. He felt his throat tighten just recounting it. Was that it? Owlstar's mention of Palewind not being clan blood as well was a surprise. He'd known of course, just forgot. It was nice to have another cat He could relate to in atleast some way, he supposed.. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Palewind She glanced at the Tom.” Why exactly did he feel the need to mention it?” She obviously seemed rather irritated at the thought. She always knew some would treat her differently sometimes because of that fact, but she didn’t think her leader really needed to mention it right there in front of everyone. Everyone probably already knew anyway but it did kind of hurt her feelings and offend her just a little. She sighed glancing over at Morningecho’s empty nest. She let her mind wander, and told herself that Owlstar would have never said something like that to her. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nettlesnap Definitely that. He paused for a moment, catching the thick damp air between his teeth. 'No idea. It was unnecessary *and* annoying.' The tom tried his best to hush his sharp tone, stepping on his tail to stop the lashing. He was supposed to be helping. But how to do that? 'That old cat doesnt know what he's talking about. You're just as much a warrior then any others here, not some wobbly fox kit.' Nettlesnap lowers his ears a little, the chance his words could do more harm then good unnerved him and he kept on edge, ready for a either a disapproving hiss or just silence. His words held no Ill intention though and for once he seemed to want to help. Even if the cat he was helping wasn't even clan blood. The sense of familiarity made her much easier to talk to then the others. That wasn't saying much, though. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Palewind The she cat sighed deeply.” Thank you Nettlesnap. I just can’t understand why he felt the need to say something like that. I mean really what was the point?!” She hissed as she rested her head on her paws staring at the Tom now. She was glad someone could relate to how she was feeling, she felt everyone else would have just said ‘oh it’s nothing’ but it really did upset her even if others couldn’t understand why. 0 players like this post! Nettlesnap He nodded his agreement and turned away briefly to think. 'Yeah. There wasnt much of a point made from that. If the leader thinks *that* is our biggest concern then uh..' The tom motions something unidentifiable with a paw, trailing off. He wasn't being the most truthful but then again who ever was? The clan bloods didn't make it easy to join as a loner and they had the nerve to act like that towards be and Palewind? He cared more to be accepted by the clan rather then the clan itself, as very little warriors were that approachable when he first came. Maybe following a bunch of cats for miles wasnt the best plan. Nettlesnap shuddered subtly, biting the tip of his tongue as the cold, rain thick air stabbed at his thin summer coat like tiny claws. The tom flicks his gaze back to Palewind, unsure what to say now. His normally sharp tongue and remarks held silent in the face of more emotional encounters. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Oh dear Starclan. Slice their throats? He was making Owlstar out to be some crazed leader, like in the scary stories her mother would tell her sometimes. Cicadapaw couldn't help but wonder where he had gotten such a silly idea from. "Don't be ridiculous. I'm sure there's plenty of cats who are wet." She gives him a light hearted nudge in an attempt to raise his spirits. "Owlstar wouldn't slice our throats. At most, he'd just say something about being more careful. I think you worry too much." She grabs a bit of the torn off prey for herself, chewing it. Mhmm! Beaver was really good! Cicadapaw sighs contently, green eyes slipped closed for a moment as to savor the flavor. It was delicious, seriously. It was a bit tough sure, but worth it nonetheless. "Don't worry so much Mudpaw, really." She continues. "The beavers good, isn't it?" She decides to smoothly change the subject to something he wouldn't worry about. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Palewind She sighed deeply once more.” I don’t know. I just never thought someone especially our leader needed to say that. Let alone in front of basically the entire clan. “ she stared at the Tom for a moment before looking towards the entrance of the den. She peaked out and watched the rain fall for a moment seeing if perhaps any cat was not smart enough to go in for the night in these conditions. She now looked back at Nettlesnap.” Anyway, I suppose I should say thank you for at least going with me to try and find Gentlebreeze.” She stated offering him a smile before resting her head back on her paws. 0 players like this post! Nettlesnap 'You're welcome. I mean, if you went alone you could've been eaten. I'm sure Gentlebreeze will be fine though, medicine cats go off a lot.' The tom purred softly, feigned confidence tumbling out in weak words. He wasn't too sure if medicine cats did go out a lot. But any predator would probably leave the cat alone because of the scent of herbs clinging to her pelt, they'd assume she was a fern. Nettlesnap stretched his front paws out, claws flexing against open air as his eyes squeezed shut for just a second. Exhaustion did not linger in his muscles, the only thing motivating him to go to sleep being boredom. Even then his mind refused to silence, forcing him to listen to the lashes of rain against the walls, threatening to knock the sticks over whilst the cats were inside. 0 players like this post! Palewind She nodded.” I guess they do sometimes.” She stated noting the Tom closing Jo’s eyes. She turned over in her nest putting her back to the other warriors in hopes that sleep would come soon. She yawned a small yawn before closing her eyes. The she cat lied there and thought for a while letting her mind replay the events that have happened today. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hawktalon After showing Sootpaw the clan camp, she noticed the prey pile. Though the beaver was plenty for now, it would need to be replenished. But for now, she realized she hadn't eaten yet today. "I think now that everyone else is enjoying the spoils of the fight with that beaver, we should take the smaller pieces. You may still have an apprentice name, but if we're gonna convince Owlstar you would be a good asset, acting as a warrior would be a good idea." She tapped his shoulder, leading him to the pile. She picked up two voles, and leading him to a spot in the camp protected from the rain drops. Sootpaw As he dug into the vole, he noticed how things were going in the camp. This leads him to wondering how strong the clan is. And seeing as Hawktalon was kin, he felt he could trust expressing his concerns. "Hawktalon," he said in a low tone. "Not to come off rude, but do you believe Owlstar is a.. good leader? I only ask because if I were leader, things would be a bit different around here." He asked in confidence that she would understand where he was coming from. Hawktalon Stopping mid bite, she looked up at Sootpaw. "He is a great leader." She shot down his implication before he could finish. "He has gone through a lot, and still does, leading and holding this clan together tooth and claw. You may be my kin, but make no mistake, the cats of this clan are my kin as well." Her amber eyes fixed on him. Regardless of how quiet and non confrontational she is, she defends her clan even when it goes unnoticed. "Owlstar has earned his respect. Now, finish your prey. The rain won't stop us patrolling." She said, her tone sharp, as if she was annoyed her brother questioned Owlstar. Owlstar was gracious enough to take her in, and she would always respect him for that. 0 players like this post! Nettlesnap The tom sighed heavily and curled up, covering his face with his paws. Conveniently his nest was away from the sides of the den, free from any water that managed to trickle in and seep into the soil. Seconds passed, ticking by painfully like claws a dragging on glass panes. Nettlesnap stifled an inaudible growl of frustration, the tip of his snout touching the nest he lay on. Whiskers twitched every few moments and his muscles tensed under his pelt, almost as if he expected something to jump out suddenly. His reactions lined up with whenever wood cracked or thunder almost shattered the clouds themselves with an echoing bang. It was far away, not even near enough to hear if a cat wasn't paying attention. Nettlesnap dug has face further into the moss to drown out the noise, the fur in the back of his neck partially bristled as he tried his best to keep composure. 0 players like this post! Like? Owlstar He had begun to eat, half listening to the rainfall outside his den, and half listening to his own thoughts. Occasionally, he wished that the leader's den wasn't so isolated. He, his deputy, and the senior warriors had been the ones to choose where the dens would be, but he hadn't thought back then much about how it would feel. He had been focused on getting the clan through a harsh leafbare, not on how he might feel come newleaf. With a sigh, he placed the half-eaten frog back on the root, before leaning into a nice stretch. The beaver had been delicious, the perfect amount of light and savoury, but he wasn't quite in the mood for frog anymore. He was still somewhat hungry, so he chocked down the last few bites. He didn't want to waste prey, after all. Climbing into his nest, he began to groom his pelt, rough tongue scraping away small pieces of dirt and debris. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Mudpaw Mudpaw noticed Cicadapaw trying to change the subject, and so he went along with it. Mudpaw took a small bite and slowly chewed, “Yeah, I've never had a beaver before, this is really delicious. I wonder who caught it?” He made sure to savor each piece after knowing how good it is. Beavers aren't easy to hunt, surely it must've taken them some time. Mudpaw quickly finished, his belly is now plump thanks to the beaver, the rain is still pouring outside the two apprentices den, but hopefully, it will end soon. He waited in anticipation for the rain to come off, he was stuck inside the den for almost the whole sunrise along with Cicadapaw after all. 0 players like this post! Like? |

"I'm not sure." Cicadapaw says, a bit of thought to it. She knew Owlstar had hosted a competition for whoever returned to camp with a beaver, but everyone had sort of come back together. Perhaps it had been a group effort? Though if it was up to her, she assumed that one of the senior warriors had caught it. After eating, Cicadapaw snuggles deeper into her nest. There's nothing really to do, the rain looks like it'll be going for awhile. The ginger colored she cat sighs, paw lazily batting at one of the many feathers she had stuck into her nest. It was cold outside, yet the walls of the den sheltered them well. Hopefully the rain didn't drip through, though she certainly had her doubts. "I guess we'll find out tomorrow. Hopefully the rain doesn't last very long, I don't want to be holed up in here another day." 0 players like this post! Like? |
