I’ve decided to create a post about this. Everyone I’ve talked to seems like it’s fair to give mods pay. Maybe if mods would be paid then they’d be more active online. Recently had some topics talked about in chat that are against Lioden chat rules. In my personal opinion, I believe mods should be paid actual money or at least game currency. 👍 |

I have strong opinions about this (obviously in support) Considering the far larger (and in my humble opinion, far more toxic) community forming on Lioden, unpaid volunteer moderators simply aren't enough. Especially considering the absolutely crazy stuff people post in Main chat. In conjunction with this I believe stricter rules should come with paid moderators, more so in Main chat than in forums. (Though this in and of itself is a separate issue, however in part it is due to a lower moderator presence) I genuinely don't want to see trauma dumps, veiled begging from MANY users, and discussions involving unsavory subjects in a pixel games Main chat :/ More mods, especially dedicated moderators on payrolls could curb the amount of this stuff. (If I see one more "omg I'm soooo broke but my rlc/dwarf/hybrid is in heat and I need a crunchy :((" or " I cant get anything to sell and im sooo desperate for x amount of game currencyy" I'll explode genuinely.) 10 players like this post! I completely agree. In main chat I’ve seen a lot of arguments, abuse subjects, things that shouldn’t be in a lion game or said to strangers anywho. We definitely need stricter rules and paid Mods. 7 players like this post! Like? |

This point is only strengthened when you realize that the moderators basically run Liodens entire social aspect *on their own* Lioden isn't poor, their revenue is public access and they have plenty of money. While I personally believe actual money should be the payments it's kind of crazy that all moderators get is free FAPA. (5$ value monthly for running an entire site's moderation sounds REALLY bad imo) Hopefully this doesn't become yet another thing the Devs purposely ignore lol. No tea no shade but this game is getting worse and worse and it isn't being addressed whatsoever. Not the market, not the community, nothing. 7 players like this post! Like? Its not even $5 Espen 😓 its $2.50 (1GB is 50¢, FAPA is 5GB). Mods do need compensation, the amount of time tickets take to be resolved are often too long. If I catch someone tracing art for sale, and report it, it can take 3-5 days just for it to be claimed, in that time that person has probably taken a lot of money from people for "art". My only concern personally is that paid mods shouldn't be players, simply because it would limit bias and would encourage them to spend time doing tickets and moderating rather than managing their pride, you know? 6 players like this post! Optional meaning we don't get round the clock moderators like the game currently needs? I remember in chat over 10 of us flagged a message and it still took a mod 30-40 minutes to show up because there are so few of them compared to the playerbase. 7 players like this post! Like? Just because the moderators are volunteers doesn't mean they should be that way. That's the point of this discussion xp 6 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/04/24 @ 08:03:09 by Espenfalls ✧ Senegal Project (#127995) |

if there was more payment in USD or even GB/SB, more people would be willing to apply/work as mods. sure people volunteer for this position, but more people would be willing to be mods if there was payment. there's currently way too few mods and i don't blame them. i wouldn't be an essentially unpaid volunteer mod with this community, 2.5 USD equivalent is not fair for the amount of chat moderation and tickets mods do. if you go into main chat at any given (active) time, you'll probably see minimum five CoC breaks (veiled begging, arguing, mentioning trades, trauma dumping, etc. etc.) within an hour. on some days it's five CoC breaks within five minutes. are these CoC breaks consistently addressed? not even close, but that's not the fault of the individual volunteer mods. i don't know how many mods lioden currently has, but it's clearly not enough and this could pretty easily be fixed with compensating mods more fairly. i understand flagged messages get addressed eventually, so even if all mods are busy those messages will still get reviewed. however, if mods were present in the moment more often, consistent rule breaks wouldn't be allowed in main chat for over an hour if not longer. it doesn't really help me in the short term if several people are being menaces in main chat and everyone flagging it doesn't cause them to stop breaking rules until hours later. 6 players like this post!
