TLDR: i think the % of one cub litters and two cub litters should be swapped.

Lions usually have litters of 1 - 4 cubs, although 2 - 3 are the most common. Some lions can even have up to 6 cubs, although I can see why the limit is 4.

My point is one cub litters have become way too common in my opinion. When I first started playing the average was 2 - 3, which makes sense. I don't know why it was changed but it's really inconvenient, and I think it needs to be changed back. At this point if you want an average size litter you need to buy buffys for every single breeding.

I understand that lioden is a game and it's not real life. This game has both realistic and non-realistic features, though, and this particular feature I think should be made to match real life because 1 cub per breeding makes things so much harder.

I've been told the rates were changed due to population boom. I've also seen posts as early as 2016 talking about this, so maybe its always been like this. Whatever the case it, i think one cub litters should be less common. Maybe make two cub litters slightly more common than one could fix this. That way there's still population control, but players can get more results from their efforts?

Unless devs did it without telling us (which I doubt), the chances for litter sizes have not been changed.

it’s certainly possible, considering they changed the odds for cubs being male

I think 1 cub litters benefit to the lowering of TC mutation inflation rates. The smaller the litter the smaller the chances of a mutie which is helping the super low prices of muties such as Piebalds and primal of all types

Kiwi, why not just lower the % of said muts then? That way players aren't wasting all their time for such minimal results.

For me, I've been plagued by this a lot. I used to get 2-3, even 4 cub litters, but with the start of the year and by March, I definitely noticed an increase in 1 cub litters for me. While it may be helpful for mutations in TC, they could just change the mutation chances instead of decreasing the number of cubs. Yet, I do not think they would've changed this without making it an update post. I think it could be a bug that might've gone unnoticed. If nothing is wrong developmentally, then I have no idea.

That's true they could just lower the rates of mutation but that still wouldn't help the cub sizes. In my opinion I think things are good just the way things are, I personally don't see such a big change in my cub litter sizes but that's most likely just me. I know the game developers probably have many things on their platter at the moment due to the knew jaglions and the new bases they have been adding along with the bugs of coding the bases to fit with all lions, I think adding another fix to the game may be a bit much for them to change with their already busy schedule

Kiwi I understand this isn't something that the devs can focus on right away. I just wanted to bring attention to it, and see what other players thought about it. (Not trying to change your opinion)

I mass breed ncls (10+ per day) and have not noticed an increase in 1 cub litters. The devs would not adjust this without notifying the players. This thread is all speculation and it's misleading of you to post this theory as a fact.

Not convinced that you don’t just have shit rng luck, since I’ve been having plenty of 2-4 cub litters. Sometimes I’ll have a streak of bad luck, sometimes it’s all 3-4 cub litters out of a batch of like 20 lionesses. I’m pretty sure it’s just the whims of the rng gods.

If you two haven't noticed a change then you have really good luck, because I promise you there's been a difference. Devs don't announce every minor thing they do, friends. <3

I'm not the only person either, or I wouldn't have posted this.

They would absolutely announce this, and without an official notice from staff it's very unfair of you to post this thread written the way you have just because you are unlucky with litters doesn't mean the entire game changed to make that happen.

I would have to agree with Warrior, Changing the sizes of litters is very much not a minor change and the developers would have definitely said something even if it was a small line in the news.

I don't appreciate the way you're talking to me, love. This feels unnecessarily aggressive. As far as I'm aware, the rates were changed slightly because if population boom. Maybe it hasn't changed, and it's always been that way. But one cub litters are still way to common. Here's another thread about the subject I think you may agree with, as it's worded better and offers a different solution.

According to the wiki, one to two cub sized litters is the most common and has been for years it's not something that was recently implemented. For me I don't see this as being an issue so it's a no support from me.

https://www.lioden.wiki/cubs

The amount of cubs generated in a litter for the average lioness ranges from one to four! One to two cubs is the most common amount, with three being more uncommon, and four being the rarest amount. If your lioness has the Double Uterus mutation, she can give birth to litters of two, four, six, or even eight cubs at once!
