Greetings! This post is a minor update/information post to answer a few questions I've gotten a couple of times, as well as just letting everyone know some future plans/changes!
General Plans

Merr and I have a lot of ideas and plans for the explore! We do plan to expand upon our little world! I'm working on getting a Discord server up now that I've caught up on all the exploring, which will be my focus, and I'm working towards some production changes!

The main thing I'm changing (which has NO impact on any previously made cats) is moving towards the more "Lioden-y" production of cats. I want to move to making actual bases/marking where they're "premade". This was my original idea, but I scrapped it initially because mainly I didn't expect this much traction and also because I was worried all the cats would look too similar. Now 41 cats in, I have more faith in myself, and also, a lot of ideas I have to get complicated with how I'm currently making cats; I would LOVE to make combo bases when I open breeding, as well as applicators for marking/bases, etc. but none of that really works with the current formula. I would like to make this very clear: changing cat production will not have any impact on cats 1-41; they'll all still be able to breed in the future, etc. They're all fine the way they are; I'm just changing how I do things from here on out. I like to think of this as the end of the "beta" phase of the explore.

Q&A
I've gotten a few questions throughout my post, so I wanted to clarify some info! I love getting questions, but I also wanted to make this info available to everyone so there's no confusion!

Related to art:
1. You are more than welcome to draw/get art of your feline(s)! They are yours; you do not have to ask! Merr and I would love to see any art you draw/get of your cats!

Related to lore:
1. We are working on lore! We'll make it available at some point! Please note you do not have to follow it! I'd like the world to work somewhat like Lioden, where there is overarching lore, but everyone can still have their own inner working of their own stories, but also, if you don't want to, you don't have to! More than anything, I want people to have fun, I don't want it to feel like your cat has to be a certain way because of XYZ, so you're more than welcome to follow along with Merr and me; you can make your own world entirely, or even both!


Related to valokissa:
1. As I stated in the main post, valokissa are based on the Finnish folklore of tulikettu! In northern and eastern Finnish folklore, the tulikettu is a fabled creature, a fox with a flickering flame for a tail that paints the northern lights with its light. Tulikettu translates, quite literally to firefox, tuli (fire), kettu (fox). I wanted to lean more into the "light" aspect rather than like straight fire, hence the name change, valo (light) kissa (cat)!

2. Being as they're based on folklore and also as I'm definitely not the first person to think up the idea of giving an animal a glowing light for a tail, you are, of course, more than welcome to make your own! I'm thrilled to share Finnish folklore with all of you because I don't think Finnish mythical beings are commonly thought of, so I'm pleased people are enjoying valokissa so far! So, if you want to make anything valokissa or tulikettu-inspired, please do; I would absolutely love to see it!
