The Northern Pack lives in the chilly region of Alaska. The main den area is deep in the forest, in a cave. The pack regularly brings in nesting items such as hides, moss, and other foliage for more comfier and warmer sleeping. The pack is well built and suited for this environment with well insulated undercoats. Common prey for the pack includes, caribou and moose. They can sometimes eat dall sheep, squirrels, snowshoe hares, beaver, and occasionally birds and fish.

The Northern Pack has thrived for years on end, and should for seasons to come. Right?
The winters have been getting more harsher, more avalanches and blizzards. Pups have begun to freeze in these climates, leading to the pack getting smaller. The herds that the pack usually prey upon have left for warmer climates. In the pack's struggle, the two past alphas left for a hunt. That night a devastating winter storm raged across the terrain. The pack waited out the storm, praying to the gods that the alpha's would find shelter. It's been four dawns now, with no sign of the pack's leaders. The Northern Pack must live, and find a new leader. They must accept their grief and move on, before it consumes them.
The past Alpha female's name was Athena, and the male Lupin.

The Alphas are the highest ranking wolves, aka the breeding pair. They dictate and make decisions. The Betas are second-in-command to the alphas, usually maintaining discipline in the pack. There is only one Delta, they are the lead Huntress/Hunt chief. The Elders are retired wolves, usually watching pups and advising young ones. The Elders also advise Alphas when needed. Caretakers are wolves who care for the sick and injured. They are the healers of the pack. Insubordinates are eight months of age, turning into Omegas at two years. They usually watch hunts and learn the ways of the pack. Pups are under eight months of age, staying in the den at all times. Omegas are the lowest rank, usually cleaning up the den and tending to their packmates. Omegas are also usually bullied alot, as they are the lowest rank. Omegas do most of hunting and scouting. If they argue they are usually punished.
There are also dispersal wolves! These wolves are able to join the pack, but trying to keep the rank to a minimum as this is a pack focused roleplay.

Yes, Athena had been a dominant female, yet she didn't unnecessarily throw her weight around. The respect was earned righteously, and Athena cared for each wolf as much as the next, until they earned the return of disrespect that was given. She put anyone in their place when it was needed, even if it was her own mate, but she always sought to rule with a tender paw and a clear head.
Personality:
Benevolent, considerate, and determined, Athena was a leader that the pack could rely on with confidence, trusting wholeheartedly in her ability to guide them through even the harshest of seasons. Ensuring the hierarchy's stability, the female wasn't daunted by subduing anyone in her pack who had stepped out of line, arguably quicker than anyone else. She was a caring female, offering the time of herself and her mate to any of those who needed to be heard, and was receptive to the counsel of any wolf, even the lowest of the packs, although their advice wasn't always heeded if the duo didn't believe it to be sound wisdom. The anchor of her mate, Athena was a devoted female to Lupin, providing him with healthy pups and raising each litter alongside him. But that devotion wasn't reserved for her family, as the female forged unshakable bonds with multiple of the pack members, notably the Caretaker known as Duvessa, in which the younger female had taken the responsibility of the pup's care in the leave of the Alphas, and was left to fill the gap when they failed to return.
Appearance:
Athena's pelt was a mixture of cream, white, tan, and grey flecked together to formulate a beautiful and unusual coat. Her chest is splashed with a white marking that wraps under and down to her stomach, as well as a small white sock on her front right paw. Light golden eyes that were akin to the sunrise were the most notable part of the female's appearance, and she was known as a healthy-sized female of average height and a body structure made for hunting.

Significant Other:
Athena was the devoted bond mate of Lupin, the Alpha Male of the Nothern Pack. Together, they sired a few litters of pups, the newest of which are still seen within the pack today.

Yes, Lupin was a dominant wolf, unless he had particularly angered his mate, in which he whimpered like the best Omega. Lupin was harder on the lesser wolves than Athena, but it never went so far as to spill blood and was instead a tactic to strengthen their resolve to become better wolves, thus securing a brighter future.
Personality:
Wise, courageous, and noble, Lupin was a male who had perfected the art of leadership, perhaps to a fault. While Lupin wasn't a cruel wolf, he was stern and expected the best from his packmates, believing that tough love would help them survive all that life would throw at them. This especially was true for the Omegas, as they had the most to learn and were nearing the end of their dispersal age, therefore they either had to learn quickly for the wilderness should they leave, or they had to bend to the fold of the pack and learn their place within it, one way or another. Lupin often had to be the bad guy in situations, however his mate was quicker to correct disrespect than he was. Brutally honest, Lupin wasn't a leader to appease anyone, his main concern was keeping the pack alive, and ensuring that they were healthy, fed, and protected. However, he still was capable of forging true friendships, and he would listen to anyone who genuinely needed it and wasn't simply wasting his time. Always trying his best, but by no means perfect, Lupin was a male who could always be relied upon, and who would sacrifice anything for the sake of his pack.

Appearance:
Unusual dark brown eyes were contrasted against the thick, silver coat of the male. Black hairs mingled with his grey coat, prominently on his ears and the top of his snout, creating a counter-shaded coat of light ash to charcoal. He was a large male, thick and above average height, almost domineering in his mere presence. At the tip of his tail, there was a white spot that was often seen on the fur of his pups, and he had a few scars around his chest and stomach from his days as a dispersal male.
