I don't know if it's possible, but I'd like to see more of the lionesses potential colours than just the shades of gold and cream. I think that the colours of lionesses could be a regional thing. For example, if you go to the marshlands, you're going to find your browns and blacks, because it's a darker area. Going to the savannah would yield the variations of gold, and the desert would hold the cream ones - all due to the environments and such. The waterhole would yield a mixture of all of them, and perhaps a where the "rarer" coats such as white and albino could be found. Along the lines of the cubs - I don't know if it's been mentioned - but I personally would like to see them carry all traits from parents. Say if the mother holds 100% darken black and the father holds 100% under white 1, the child would have ~50% of both markings (give or take some percentages depending on random chance, but in the general area of like 70ish - 30ish depending on said random chance). Even if some of the markings on the parents are not full or very visible, there should still be a level of throwback on the children. I was rather perplexed when a child from my Spotting Light (93%) & Black Gradient 1 (87%) lioness only held Spotting Light (72%). |

I like the first part, not too sure about the genetic bit. It'd be cool for different areas to have different coloured lionesses. With the second part, they shouldn't always carry all the parent genes cuz that'd be strange. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I support the concept of recessive / dominant genes however not regionalized colors. There's lot of species where colors aren't based off of region. People think alaskan wolves are 100% gray or white, right? Alexander Archipelago wolves - which are just a few hours out of Anchorage - are routinely dark or black in color. 0 players like this post! No support for the regionalised color, in part because many of those colors mentioned are custom only and should remain custom only because GB is what funds the site and people may be less willing to pay for customized lions if they know they can get a certain color they like in the wild. I agree with Tikindi about the markings. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Support for the top idea, but not for the bottom. I support the idea of being able to find certain colored coats in certain areas, because that sounds kind of cool. I don't support the cubs have everything from the parents. Lions only have 10 marking slots, and if both parents have 10 markings the cubs would have 20 markings (most of which would probably be low percentage). It's just not possible for the cubs to have 20 markings when, if you customize your lions, you can only select 10 markings max. I also believe that having any more than 10 markings is just too much; right now there are some lions that have all 10 markings but you cannot see the their base color at all. If they had any more than 10 markings you wouldn't really be able to see any of the markings or the base color at all if they're 50% or higher. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I don't support the marking part, it would be to easy. Every lion would have 10 markings with this. And I don't care for the NCL colors. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I'd support the "some lionesses are area specific", but only if they change how explore areas work. As it is, very few people ever really reach places like the marshlands or the waterhole (I only just now reached marhlands for the first time ever, and IF I reach the waterhole, I'll be lucky if I have a ton of tie to explore, since my king is getting old). It'd suck to have certain colors you couldn't find in explore just because you're not able to reach the higher levels. Redoing how explore works would be nice anyway, since I'm sure everyone gets tired of the lower level areas; like I said, this is my first time ever in the marshlands and I've still never seen the waterhole! No support for the second bit, though. Just seems like it'd make cubs too overwhelmed with markings. The percentage is just for the opacity of the marking, it shouldn't have any effect on whether the marking passes on to the cub or not. 0 players like this post! Like? |

No support, sorry. While I don't mind the second part (it may get to troubles when breeding lions with lots of markings, if I correctly understood what it suggests), I can't agree with the first one: a player has to level up to find all the base colors and not everybody has time or will to do that. 0 players like this post! Support to the first, but not the second. What happens when both parents use the same slot for different markings? Besides, the randomizing factor in cub marks make it worth-while to breed. You'd rarely have a reason to breed your own king more than once(excluding stat-breeder perspectives), rarity in markings would be lost, ect, ect, ect. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Regional colors are a no go for me- what happens when my River stud is bred to a desert lioness? Or vice versa? Also, in nature, as was already mentioned, it doesn't happen that way, so it would be weird. I COULD see this as working with NCL's... a third color option- wild NCL markings in general, Custom/Oasis/Object only colors... and then a third set, where each color comes from a region- one of the places on the map. One BIG hitch in this, is that folks who are just starting out will be months and months of play before they can HOPE to reach some regions. :( and the 'rich' who CAN, will just sell the NCL's or breed them anyway, which seems to unbalance the game when I think it through. 0 players like this post!
