The actual RP The Sign Ups will reopen at around August 7th and close when it seems fit. The wolves most people think of when they hear the word "wolf" are timber wolves; Large, tough, and living in temperate forests and gorging on elk. But there exists a subspecies of timber wolf that doesn't live in the temperate forest, but the tropical variety. Short-furred and even more..."bipolar"...than their common counterparts, being very content or aggressive as it seems fit. Feeding on fish, and patrolling the territory daily, life is as good as it can be for most of these packs. The story begins when one of the lower ranked pack members of one such rainforest pack goes exploring down a newly discovered stream, and goes missing. The Alpha Male picks up on this, and, alone, follows his trail, only to share the same mysterious fate. The RP will start off immediately after the Alpha disappears, and pack members will grow curious. What happens next? Up to you! Rules: - Hunger, thirst, sleep and wounds all apply realistically, so keep that in mind when, say, someone gifts someone else a rabbit. - Hunting and fights are to be detailed and as fair as possible. Since its realistic, serious cuts and very successful hunts are incredibly uncommon, even for a skilled wolf. Survival is hard, so no "grabs neck and bites down" moments, for prey or enemies. Point is, no godmodding. -Literacy. I want full sentences that make sense and have grammar. I don't need a huge novel, but just enough details to make it clear who you are, where you are, and what your doing. This is to prevent huge confusion. - Romance is to be toned down. Packs typically only have one mated pair, and although other relationships aren't exactly uncommon, they aren't super prevalent. Having close, strong relationships without romance is possible too, guys. Plus, most members in wolf packs are related, so...Yeah. One big family! - Going back to realism, realistic wolves only. No wings, super huge fangs, powers of any sort, unrealistic coloring, ect. - If your going to kill or even heavily hurt someone else's character ASK THEM FIRST. If they're not okay with it, don't do it. - To prove you read this, put your favorite color(s) in the passcode part of the character sheet. - One to two characters per person, although I prefer just one character per person. Keeps things a bit more varied and focused, I feel. - This is NOT first come, first serve. I accept people who follow these rules in the character sheet, with literacy and realism. - On mature issues and human language; Keep human language tame, and no slang whatsoever ("Town" is fine, but "YOLO" is not.) Wolf speak is to be toned down a little as well. For sake of flow, we won't have special names for humans, although cars and houses are to be called "machines" and "buildings", and generalized like that. As for mature issues, tackle it if you wish. Gore is fairly unrealistic, so try to shy away from that, but religion, abuse, and other things are fairly game IF IT'S NECESSARY. Do NOT add religious commentary if it doesn't develop a character, their relationships, or past, and same with abuse. Don't add it just to be edgy or because you can. It must have purpose, as well as Gore. - Activity is required. Check back at least every 3 or 4 days, to keep updated. If you can't be active for a little bit, let us know so we don't get stuck in a situation where we all wait for an inactive person. Also, a note: Keep track of inactive characters. By that, I mean, cover for them and mention them, even if their player won't be on for a week. This does NOT mean control their character, this only means mentioning their whereabouts at some point. "Oh, Wolfen, where's Balto?" "Oh, I'm not sure, around here somewhere. Did you need something?" Or "I think he went that way, based off scent, but why do you need him, is something wrong?" I prefer this to simply letting characters drop off from existence when the player is busy with life. Because, when the player gets back on, chances are, they might feel lost and forgotten to find the plot rush on, and then the player just pops back from nowhere and feels out of place, and that's no fun. So basically, take care of each other with continuity? - In that same vein, arguments between characters are fine, but try to avoid catfights and drama among members. Characters Name: Gender, Rank and Age: Appearance: Personality: Skills and Weaknesses: Family*: Other: Passcode: * Since this IS the realistic approach, family should have importance, wether that family be another pack member, a pup that died young as most wolves do, or a sibling that left the pack at a young age as most wolves do. Just little details in all of these cases, but they do flesh out and reinforce the character. Alpha Female: Kairem, (Silver Ackerman) New Alpha Male: Brangwen (Ticklicious) Beta Female: Talia (Becca) New Beta Male: Taken (Prince) Delta's: Artemis (Calista the Onyx Wolf Queen) Carabi (Prince) May (Cynder) Cyanara (Valana) Omegas: Kita (Cynder) Somali (Bellevue) Full Pups: Kerchak (Becca) Alkmir (Silver Ackerman) (Reserved by Kanakei?) Open, about 1 slot People to join the RP (who have discussed joining but haven't yet): 2, Blaze and Kanakei A disclaimer: the ranks WILL change. If someone leaves the RP, we might recruit a new person and thus a new pup or something is born. The pack hierarchy is run by dominance rather than democracy or dynasty, so alphas will change as well. Pups will grow too. Also, we're trying to keep the pack gender balanced, although more females than males does work considering real life, where less males means less competition and possible cheating. But again, romance isn't to be a main theme, so it's gender balanced just because it's weird to have a pack of mostly female wolves. But basically, don't freak out about the inequality rank wise as well. If you want your character to have pups someday, it certainly will happen...someday. But plot takes priority. Although, wanting to be a mother is a pretty strong plot motivation so - well, just know the ranks aren't set in stone, and have fun with that in RP. 0 players like this post! Like? I think that would be a good idea, Silver. Just in case we want to all figure out things, like a death for example or something. Or plot ideas that everyone could all discuss? :3 0 players like this post! Like? |
