James' eyes fluttered open as his alarm went off, he was excited for today, but that didn't mean he wanted to get up. A groan escaped his lips as he slowly rolled over, turning the alarm off. He decided it would be best if he got up, so he wouldn't fall back asleep. Almost as soon as he sat up there was a loud banging on the door of his hotel room, his dad's voice could be heard from the other side, "James, wake up, it's going to be a good day." He let out a yawn as he stretched his arms over his head and slowly got out of the bed. He loved traveling, but sleeping in hotel bedrooms for state and national rodeos was never ideal. He let his dad know he was up and walked over to the bathroom, brushing his teeth then getting in the shower. It only took him about five minutes to wash off, then he got out and put on some jeans, a maroon t-shirt, some cowboy boots, and grabbed his cowboy hat. He looked himself over in the mirror, ran a hand through his hair, and slid on his hat before heading out the door where his parents were both dressed and waiting, along with his little brother, Parker. The four of them ate a quick breakfast then headed out to the rodeo, it was the first day of state competitions and all four of them were excited, this was Parker's third rodeo he would be in, he was only nine. As they arrived James led Parker over to a registration table where the two of them both signed in and got numbers for which competitions they were in. Character SheetsNo thread generated. James did his best to keep her calm, "Deep breaths, babe." He leaned forward and kissed her forehead and nose and cheeks and lips. He would tell her all kinds of things to try and get her mind off of the pain. 0 players like this post! Like? |

He laced their fingers together as she took his hand, "We're gonna get through this, Lexa." He assured before kissing her nose again, "I promise." He didn't want to tell her that he was scared, beyond scared, it would just make her freak out more. 0 players like this post! Like? |

James was told he had to wait outside the room, and that was when the tears fell, he broke down. He couldn't handle it anymore, everything that he loved had come crashing down in the matter of hours. He leaned against the wall and soon fell to the ground. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nurses were rushing in and out of the room, along with a few doctors, when suddenly one of them came out and looked directly at him, "You the boyfriend?" He asked and his head shot up along with his whole body. "Yeah, what's wrong? Is she okay?" James questioned the doctor and he filled him in. The whole world came crashing down and James just stood there for a second, the doctors words sinking in. The doctor gently pushed him into the room so he could close the door. James quickly dried his eyes before walking over to Lexa. He had to be strong for her. 0 players like this post! Like? |

He wrapped his arms around her from the side as he tried to comfort her, "Lots of babies are born a whole lot earlier than this," He started, "Hell, Parker was born two months earlier." He kissed the top of her head, "If you don't have it now then there won't be any saving the baby. It still has a chance this way." His whole world was still crashing around him as he tried to convince her to take the medicine the nurse was offering, and he could feel the tears rolling down his cheeks, again.
